I have been using Shameful Fear because of this month's PvP effect.

Does this flux favour the damage of casters or melee?

Default Bonder vs Heals

In RA when I monk with this new flux I have tried two builds:
WoH:
WoH
Cure Hex
Draw Conditions
Patient Spirit
Guardian
Kinetic Armor
Protective Spirit
Spirit Bond

Bonder:
Life Bond
Balthazar's Spirit
Restore condition
Reversal of Fortune
Kinetic Armor/Prot Spirit
Blessed Signet
Remove Hex
Spirit Bond

Both builds do okay assuming I am not facing a storm of eles. Ironically mesmers give me less trouble than eles even with the bonder build. I have had players question the bonder build although I tend to get higher streaks with it than the WoH build. For bonding I have insufficient self heals but WoH does not cover damage from ele spikes. Both builds take the enemy team about the same amount of time to take me down and with bonds it is a hell of a lot harder to take the team down .So there are pros and cons to each one. For Bonder if I do go down the bonds are gone and the team goes down a lot easier and if I face enchantment removal it's not too hard to put the bonds back up. However I believe with this flux I will stick with bonding because 1 ele skill can match 1 WoH and you can't prot spirit/spirit bond everyone with energy constraints. With bonder almost every attack they use can be countered by reversal of fortune and with Prot Spirit or Kinetic Armor on myself I survive a decent amount of time.

Seems like 3 Invoke 1 Monk is just superior to most comps, Luckily I landed with it yesterday, with a good monk we were unstoppable, unfortunately I had to leave for work around 13 wins, would have gone all the way if we could all stay.
Its sad that RA actually brought me back to this game.

I started using spirit rift. Seems to do 201 damage vs 175 from an invoke on a 60AR target. Either that or I hit an already cracked armour target.

As it's RA, most people just stand there and cop for it repeatedly. That plus Xinraes = gg vs an air ele. I stopped bringing a snare to keep the target in range as it's a waste of energy.

I wonder what's stronger; Double Dragon, Glyph of Power and Flame Burst/Inferno or Invoke? In terms of damage, ignoring the blind spam Air gives.

Invoke will be superior for the simple reason that it doesn't involve standing right next to the target. Stand Mind Blast/Immolate/Rodgorts would be a much superior bar if you're determined to play a fire ele.

A significant portion of a MB's damage comes from burning anyways, which doesn't scale with this month's reduced armor.

Not necessarily true. In split scenarios (in GvG) much of the MB pressure comes from burning because rit flaggers stack massive armor (+15 while weap'd insig + 24 armor from resil + shield + AL7 vs ele spear). In RA where you usually lack weapon spells (and many monks/casters don't bother stacking armor with insigs and shield sets) combined with this flux a fire ele will deal significant damage through immoslate + rodgorts spam. The trick (especially in this meta) is to spam a low armor target until it gets protted (or just gains the attention of the monk) and then swap to a different target. This kind of swapping is one of the primary techniques for generating pressure in GvG and works especially well in RA due to the fact that monks lack significant prot and are usually operating as a solo defensive character (whereas in GvG/HA you effectively have a 3-monk backline and often have very defensive midliners).

MB is great in that you have the KD with meteor and the rodgorts spam if stuff balls up. Its main strength though is its a massive energy resource allowing you to use spirit bond without really feeling the energy cost. With this it is possible to support a bad monk for a while by spirit bonding all the ele damage and still pumping big damage at the same time. :P

^About this...as prot (to counter the lolwhut dmg on this Flux), is better take Spirit Bond, Prot Spirit or what?

-In a RA scenario as Ele with MB for ene as said above.

Is there a skill that does more than 160 damage or whatever it is that's required for Prot Spirit to mitigate more than Spirit Bond? Is that skill used more frequently than other sources of damage that trigger Spirit Bond?
I don't think so.

Honestly spirit bond and prot spirit are about about even: they each will excell in different scenarios that you will encounter in RA. Spirit bond will be more effective at countering skills that deal 60-160 damage. Prot spirit will be more effective against damage above ~160 (invoke, chain, rodgorts, etc). Prot spirit has an advantage in that its duration will be more than twice as long as spirit bond at high-prot specs and can be run more easily on midliners due to the fact that it's maintainable at low prot specs.
