Take plauge sending over touch. If I ever see an SoM with touch, I just make sure I'm nowhere near the other physicals, and then run away from the mes (and also toward another target, if possible) and either I don't get blind, or the mes takes so long trying to blind me that the other physicals are spared. Being able to have at least one of the blinds ranged is pretty important, and there's no real disadvantage to running sending instead.

Okay, I'm going to guess this is a typo, but if not, they why are you bringing DP just to recharge Feigned faster? With 14 SR, [hexer's vigor] would make a lot more sense. Again, I'm guessing you placed the wrong Assassin skill(s) in there. (or maybe referencing the old [feigned neutrality] ?)

Spirit's Strength is extremely weak imo, it only works semi-decently on spears but even then you're just spamming massive damage. The SS ranger bar looks weak compared to conjure or brutal glass primary ranger with expertise and lightning reflexes and the SS sin bar is a nice way to get blown up instantly by a warrior or derv. For a spike sin try primary sin with nightmare weapon, all you need really is a few bigger hits.

It works best with daggers actually. +30 damage per attack means +60 damage on a dual attack after all.

It hits for a lot of damage but it's clumsy to use having to be under the effects of a weapon spell. Also if it gets lifted you're just a 60 armor turd trying to frontline. Compared to a warrior or sin using a conjure I just don't think it compares favorably.

[skill]Vital Weapon[/skill]

Of course, using it for Ranger spike is retarded anyway, use [skill]Nightmare Weapon[/skill] for that.

Perhaps when facing retards. The reality is people will kite the build and it's rather clumsy spamming spirit's and a cover on a melee. Much easier (and more effective) to run a spear with wep aggression.

That N/A build looks rather terrible. The 2 sin skills are a wash and the signet isn't necessary. Easier to run a glyph N/E and take 2 extra curses. If you're smart (and you don't face elite/spotless hex removal), the curses will mitigate melee damage entirely making FN redundant. You can even take rip enchant and follow spotless with strips, if you're paying attention.

The only thing I like about the SS rit is [sight beyond sight].

Seriously today in ID1 I counted 12 Me/N's in the waiting pools and SoM curse necs are becoming popular now too.

First of all, welcome in the RA thread. With the R not only standing for random but also for retards. Second, of course people kite, as much as they kite any melee build. Take something to counter it. Like a dagger attack that causes crippling. Third Spirit's Strength lasts for a minute, hardly call that spamming. And covers are easy to come by. And you aren't useless if you do lose your SS, so it isn't a big issue. And last, if anything is easy to kite then it is a spear. If you go the pure damage way, which Spirit's Strength is all about, the faster attack of the daggers is the only effective way to go.

Only dagger attack that will really work is leaping mantis sting... good luck catching up to and hitting someone moving without a speed boost.

Stop defending SS, it's just bad.

So, use a speed boost then. I heard assassins have a good one. Think the name starts with a D.

Stop arguing against SS if you can't make a point. I know SS is bad, everyone else knows it is bad. But if you are saying it is bad, at least give the right reasons why it is. Else I will just keep pointing out why your argument is wrong. And besides, SS isn't that bad at all in RA. Huge damage is very useful there and SS basically doubles your dagger damage. It is more dangerous then many other melee builds for sure.

It's bad for the same reason ele's with daggers are bad. When you play melee your positioning is dictated by your targets (obviously), making it incredibly easy to lineback them. A caster holding daggers will go down from one warrior or wounding strike spike unless they get a spirit bond or guardian which isn't very often in RA.

Also, I bet if you compared the dps of a sin with conjure vs. ss rit sin, the conjure sin would come out on top with increased criticals, double strikes and far more spamability of attacks with the energy gain from crit strikes. Also, where's the deep wound? Twisting fangs is dumb and expensive with 0 in crit strikes and there's little room for impale after your enchant(s), weapon spell, attack chain and non-existent speed boost.

Only reason I go out of my way deride SS rits is because I hate monking for them. You pretty much have to keep spirit bond up on them or they die even faster than a sin, even if a useless wamo is on them.

Feels a bit like a special olympics argument debating SS daggers vs. SS spear. Both put out respectable dps under ideal circumstances, but the reality is too many things have to go right for the builds to work consistently. Fun to beat on terrible players in AD's, but not gonna get it done vs the better groups at peak hours. Better to just play a more versatile build that doesn't have a huge fail point.

Even sadder is the number of RA players that do c space the first guy and never change targets.

That's funny as hell! I remember one time playing either thumper or packhunter, I switched to my longbow to 1) send the pet in and 2) get a couple strikes of adrenaline before the fray started. Teammate asked WTF I was doing and I typed back "I'm pulling." Scary thing is, it worked. The average RA warrior forgets everything and charges like a rhino if you attack it directly.

Not really... you can just ASDW around them as they run and intersect their running path to hit them with it. Works most of the time.
