Had a Req. 13 drop for me on my 8th run, made it caster-worthy, and gave it to my Ele. My work is done.

Given up on this. Had been farming for ages and it seems that these colossal swords aren't meant for me.

To those who are still farming, i wish you good luck.

earth magic: 12+3+1
earth prayers: 9
energy storage: the rest+(2 or 3)

stone daggers
sliver armor
kinetic armor
armor of earth
stoneflesh aura
mystic regeneration
earth attunement
elemental attunement {E}

USE: You dont need to kill the bugs that you run into before the corsairs. I usually just aggro them and bring them in for extra on sliver armor. This is usually because if I try to kill them without the corsairs help I wont be able to kill any of them because the grub lance heals too much. If u get a grub lance then aggro the grub with the blades into the corsairs and use sliver armor while spamming stone daggers on the bladed termite that is affected. Once you kill both of the termites just leave the grub. Hes too far away to take the damage from sliver armor so he just contributes to its damage. if u get a preying lance then u can still aggro them to the corsairs because its just fun to watch how fast sliver armor kills them. Then you proceed in killing the corsairs and spamming stone daggers on the nearest corsair and using sliver armor whenever you can. At the beginning it doesnt really matter which order u cast the enchantments as there is no enchantment removal to worry about. Be sure to keep kinetic armor up though by using stone daggers (which will net only a cost of 1 energy a cast because of dual attunement) or reapplying mystic regen whenever it recharges just for the spell cast. However where the other skills will not effect your energy in any way due to dual attunement, mystic regen is not effected by attunements so it tolls its full 10 energy cost. As long as you have earth prayers at 9 instead of 8 you should always get regeneration because the regeneration per enchant will not be lowered to 2 when you recieve weakness from "your all alone". With this regard as long as you keep your enchantments up you can aggro as many corsairs as you want and the rest is a cakewalk. Have fun!

Since I don't have a monk char (*sigh*) nor Factions to give my ele Sliver Armor (*sigh*) I tried it with Dervish. And well, standard 130hp works well, only change is one of attacks for Healing Breeze. You're gonna need ALL you enchants when you encounter Floggers. Unfortunately it's hard to do it without dying at least 2/3 times....

At the beggining you can take out the insects (if there's no Grub). When done, die 2 times and equip +30 scythe. Then simply farm corsairs - after killing few switch to your non-30hp scythe to get lower on hp. It's definitely harder and requires more practice and knowledge of the build and opponents, but hey, still possible!

I'm not lucky, got only a purple scimitar and few merchant/inscription-golds.

Good luck, have fun, hooded ones.

Finally got a req.9 to drop up in the NW group of Corsair in the middle of all those skales. Funny thing was I have never had that level 29 Ranger boss spawn for me up there except this time. It was probably just coinsidense but who knows.

It's certainly doable with the standard 130 build. DP helps, but isn't required. You can take out grubs too if you're good with your Deep Wound. Just have your minipet out to avoid YAA and don't aggro more than one group.

I found another place where there are a bunch of corsairs. From Beknur Harbor exit out into Issnur Isles and to the center of that place is a bunch of corsair.

Ive only done about 25 or so runs, but best I got doing the run was a req10 tatooed scimitar from corsair and req9 fiery axe from bug

Do the corsairs there also drop colossal scimitars?, cuz all I hear about is Zehlon Reach.

They should/will drop colossals

Zehlon isnt the only drop place, moddok corsairs also drop them.

Sometimes it helps to big 3 heroes with you and flag them away, I got another req 10 colossal from doing that in zehlon on my first run. New monk weapon

Don't know if this has already been posted, but if you run a Mo/D 55hp build you can take out also the group of insects with a Grub Lance.

Just replace SoA with Scourge Healing, lure the group of insects and hex the 2 warriors. Then cast SoJ and hex the monk, it will start spamming LoD and take 80x3 dmg each time, and will drop before SoJ wears off.

The only small drawback is that you don't have SoA and must time better the usage of SH when facing the corsair group with a flogger.
It's very easy indeed, use SH immediately after SoJ wears off, you will receive no damage and when SH ends SoJ will be already recharged.

I like to kill the insects 1. because I hate them chasing me, 2. I hate them remaining alive and 3. they also drop golds, tall shields, axes and so on

BTW, a week ago I got my r9 colossal, anyway I still to do some runs in Zehlon because I'm still looking for a tattooed and anyway it's a good source of perfect upgrades.

Ritualist Colossal farming fun!!

Sure Colossal swords are now "junk", but for the hell of it I wanted to try to Rit VwK farm it .. and I can ... sometimes ...

http://www.hidebehind.com/3BC50D

Problem is ... if the insect group BEFORE the corsairs has a grub lance .. rezone, game over.

If not, do your thing.

Restoration - 16 (12 + 4)
Inspiration - Whatever you damn well feel like

Arcane Echo, VwK, Vengeful Weapon, Physical Resistance, Mend Body and Soul, Soothing Memories, Resilient Weapon

I use Alem's Remedy, I'm sure there's better.

If you've never farmed with a VwK Rit, just put up the stance Physical Resistance (or elemental resistance if you're dealing with wanding eles :P), do arcane echo outside the aggro .. you have 20-seconds to copy the skill, so no hurry .. just don't hit another skill and copy that one and not VwK :/

Walk in.
Resilient Weapon is for burning/cripple (other conditions) or hexes. The Corsairs deal with burning (The raiders) and Reaper's Mark (Floggers), so you'll get a +6 regen for 21 seconds and +21 armor.

At the last second, to get the most out of it, hit the copied VwK, heal with mend body and soul and/or Soothing Memories IF needed. If not, then don't. On occassion you can hit vengeful weapon fairly often.

Remember to keep up Resilient Weapon also if need be.

Best to go 1 group at a time because of the Bosuns/Medics using Banish, which goes right through VwK, and the right spike is not good with 2-3 of them doing it.

That's the basics.

This can also farm the spiders outside Sunspear Great Hall, Fanged Iboga, Bladed Termites, Hassin Softskin's crew and skales.

Something different instead of the coma inducing bot farming feeling you get going 55, 55 Necro or Stoneflesh/Sliver Armor ele in the respected areas.
