Default Help with Duncans 7 hero hm build

This is what im running right now in hm

I know it can be improved, so id liek your help

i can generally take stone summit on 8 v 8 and but still wipe sometimes. however, any group with any nuker pretty much demolishes my group, and with 40 clovers, i only made it past 1 and half of the bosses, when i finally hit 60 dp.

any tips for the build and strategy in general?

I usually run with myself as an Earthshaker warrior, a SoS necro, SoGM rit, ST rit, N/Rt healer, Emo, Panic mes, and an Inept mes.

I usually just keep stuff on its butt, and then the heros do the work. You can do all the areas in NM and then duncan in HM. Just bring swap on your bar, and flag your heros a little bit apart and let them tear up duncan. As long as you pull aggro, and don't aggro everything, you should be fine.

I wanted to try and check if my party can finish duncan's part of the dungeon.

Completely forgot frozen soil but it turned out not needed. I managed to get to duncan without any deaths only to realize that my W/D enduring scythe doesn't have swap

My party was:

1) me as enduring scythe W/D
2) Ineptitude Mesmer (the same as yours)
3) Panic Mesmer (I imagine PI will work just as well)
4) SoS Rit with smiting (SoS, Bloodsong, Ancestor's Rage, Splinter Weapon, Spirit Siphon, Smite Hex, Smite Condition, Strength of Honor)
5) UA Monk healer
6) ER ele prot
7) Curses necro with Spiteful Spirit (I know it doesn't synergize well with Panic but it was just a try and dwarf mobs have no way of removing it anyway)
8) AoTL Minion master with dwayna's sorrow

I rolled through all mobs without any problems. Then Duncan rolled through me . Next Time I'll roll W/A with dragon slash and swap. I did not use ANY consumables.

My suggestion would be to drop Discord altogether. Stone Summit mobs cannot remove hexes but they remove conditions very fast making discord less useful. Also dropping discord will allow you to use some actually useful elites. SoGM rit looks a little weak too.

Pull mobs yourself and ball them so that your HB and Splinter hit them all. With 2 shutdown mesmers mobs won't do much

did you do this in hm or in nm?

thanks for the tips. i swapped the discord for rojs on the necros, but the mobs seem to kite way better than i remembered

the stone summit eles and mesmers rape my team. the eles cast ward against melee and stability, rendering roj useless cuz i cant kd them inside it, and the mesmers use soothing images and alot of degen, making it dificult to build adrenaline. ill try your build next, seems like it would work

This was HM. W/D enduring scythe uses mostly energy attacks so adrenaline denial was not an issue. Of course you will need Swap for duncan so instead of W/D scythe you can always run Enduring Axe build (you can find it on pvx wiki).

RoJ in HM will always cause scatter so don't use it.

Panic mesmer was really helpful interrupting whole groups of mobs. If you see Stone Summit Warder target him and set him as main target for your domination mesmer. In general if you stack your hexes on them fast you'll be in much better position. I don't know if I was lucky, but in all groups I encountered until Duncan, only 2 contained a single Warder.

Flagging heroes a back a bit and balling mobs around the corner helps too.
You need strong hex removal as Stone Summit mesmers and necros have some very nasty hexes and they stack them very fast. My team had 3 hex removal skills (smite hex on rit, cure hex on MM and UA monk).

Also I found that Aura of the Lich helps greatly by exploiting all corpses in the area. This way SS summoners won't have anything to raise.

i managed to breeze through justicar and stormweaver a couple of days ago easily with a different build (me as enduring axe, sabway + 2 mesmers+ 2 rits) easily. you were right, roj and discord were the problem (they removed conditions too quickly for discord and ran from roj)

forgewright was the real problem. i made it to him in hard mode with minimal dp (20% each, which i think is good considering) but i simply could not kill him. i think i got a bad spawn because it was him with a priest, defender, derv healer, and warder. he pretty much nuked my team up while the four defensive characters kept him up. i finally gave up and did it in normal mode in like 20 minutes

gonna do duncan hm tommorow. wish me luck

Having 100b and Whirlwind and not bringing MoP is a sacrilege.

Best thing would be mobbing and then spike to death imo. Get to know the area before going with heros anyway.

Yeah the spawns can sometimes screw even the best party. Good luck with your Duncan run. Let me know if you managed to kill him without fancy tricks like dying in front of him and having a necro spam this freakin' signet.
Don't forget screens

nah duncan was super easy. i just brough two spirit spammers (sos and sogm) and put them in hero slots 1 and 2, and put my gwen on 3. i just flagged heroes 1 2 and 3 in duncans aggro range and far apart, and flagged the other 4 outside of it so his aoe couldnt reach them. me and the spirits did all the damage, while our healers kept us up easily and i microed gwen to interupt his spirit rifts. was a cakewalk

this was done after i swapped out all the spirits ofc
