Default DWG Rit gear help

Hey, I'm new doing to doing Frostway and I'm looking to gear my rit up correctly but I'm new to this whole thing. Where exactly can I get each weaponset I need? I'm confused about what items I need exactly and where to get them as the pvxwiki guide seems quite vague for someone who doesn't know much about gearing up for this run. I think I can get the skills and runes etc easily enough, just not the weapon sets, thanks.

  • Weaponset 1: +5 energy martial weapon of warding, Shield with +10 (vs Demons)
  • Weaponset 2: staff with +20 energy and +30 health.
  • Weaponset 3: +42e/-2 regen high energy set.
Can be made if you buy the base weapons/BMP free stuff and mod them, greens might also be suitable. I highly doubt that most frostway users actually bother though.

Sorry to be a noob, but I don't really understand how weapons are modded to suit your needs? I've tried searching this stuff up and I didn't really get it. Do you need to find a base weapon, then add +5 energy for example? What does BMP mean by the way? Also, you don't think most frostway users bother with these weapon sets?

http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Bonus_mission_pack or any modifiable gold weapon as a base. http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Galle...ion_Pack_items

Add

"I have the power" inscription

Spear grip of warding (I like spears)

+10 Armor vs demons shield

http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Stygian_Defender

There's your first weapon set.

They are PUG players (pickup group) and are widely known to not be particularly great. Usually this means bad playstyle, wrong builds, missing skills and such. With that, most of them really won't bother making weapon sets specially for DoA.

Thanks a lot, you made it a lot clearer. With people missing the right weapon sets etc, do they even make it through still?

If I understood correctly, Calista means the following:

Modding a weapon means taking a blue/purple/gold ( preferably maximum damage ) weapon, and add the mods you need to it.
Each weapon (usually) has an inscription slot, and two other slots ( prefix/suffix) that you can upgrade ( for example, staffs have inscription slots, a staff head, and a staff wrapping, sword have an inscription slot, a sword pommel and a sword hilt, etc).

In this case, the + 5 energy on the martial weapon would come from the "I have the power" inscription, granting + 5 energy to that weapon.

BMP = Bonus Mission Pack.
Its some extra content you have to buy online, allowing you to play some extra mission from GW lore ( Saul D'alessia, Turai Ossa, Master Togo's story, Gwen's story etc) rewarding you with a free max dmg fully moddable weapon after completing any of these stories mentioned above.

The reason why not many frostway people will bother with special weapon sets is because the people doing frostway usually aren't the most professional of the pve crowd, meaning that the average skill level of frostway you either succeed or wipe depending on the average group skill.
At that level of skill weapon mods do not really influence your fail/succes ratio.
