E/Mo healer = Fail
E/Mo Protection = a little better, but you still need E-management.
Divine Favor of the monk is just too useful. Boosts heals up, gives prots some healing as well, and has some nice, useful spells as well.
If your monks are running out of energy, try making them Mo/E and give them GoLE, or /Me and give them Power Drain, or use cheeper skills and some of the healing signets. [Signet of Rejuvenation] is a good sized heal with a fairly good recharge, [cure hex] offers a large heal with hex removal, and is cheep, and these can supplement spells like [woh], [patient spirit], [Dwayna's Kiss], and [Orison of healing].
Now, an E/Mo can easily drag along Aegis or Extinguish
