as avilia mentions, the only good way is to limit the skill use. using high attack speed + high double strike chance + pet starts to add up when you dump barbs and the like on the target.
As well, the pet with high armor and reduction along with the increased block chance makes it a nice combo for body blocking.
Just to bad 8+ minions do that scaling and body blocking so much better.

I feel ya on that one, I like the assassin heroes but they make themselves very undesirable. The AI really is terrible when it comes to using attack chains, this means my Anton and Zenmai never ever get to touch daggers. Crit-Barrage or a dumbed down ScytheSin build is where you can find a home for them.
Also one interesting option you could try (speaking as a long time curse necro here) is give Anton [locust's fury] and an IAS call a target hit it with [mark of pain]/[barbs] and giggle as everything explodes while he's flailing away at them. Just a thought

If AI is the problem, then why dont you look at an effective assassin monster skill bar and try to copy it. Besides the monster skills and high level which you cant mimic, they should share a similar AI.
Also, some people are saying that the Oni and Raptor summonings are quite good and they are assassins. Has anyone tried their skill bars on Zenmai or Anton?

It isn't just the bars with the AI, its how they run around while you're kiting or something.

Did this ranger build, worked OK:
[build=OwJikxjMtY8YMBNAp/sIidIAAA]
A derv build, forget how crappy it was...:
[build=OwpiMypMBgBdNgNAp/sIOBJAAA]
Was looking at trying this one, haven't tested it yet (need staff for builds like this to be effective, so I hear):
[build=OwNS4YPPmEtGEzN/mlY8IBA]

They are good because they are extra characters that don't take party slots or skill slot and because we don't really have much choice in that matter.
If people could use custom bars on summons, you would not see them use assassins.

There simply isn't any better. Sins are good at doing damage through dagger attack chains, which is something heros are incapable of using properly. Players can use things like [Assassin's Promise] and [Shadow Form] to great effect, but once again, a hero can't use these well. The only use a hero sin has lies in either using Critical Strikes for energy management with something other than daggers (usually scythes or bows) or go with gimmick builds. But all these builds are meh at best.
But if you think you can come up with a better sin hero build, please do not hesitate to enlighten us.
