Default 55 Farming/Anti-Farming Code

My guild leader said that the drops in Elona Reach and outside Droks are terrible because they are so overfarmed. Is this true? Also, as a 55 Mesmer, I prefer to farm Hydras in Skyward Reach, but I worry about running into the anti-farming code any day. What are some other places where I could work off the code and make a reasonable profit?

I usually clear out at least 75% of it to fill my inventory. How does that not trigger the code? (I guess I never fully understood it)

i ran into the "code" with my 55hp necro in hydras, all they dropped was claws, hahaha.

the trick is, do it twice, then go do a few something elses. pvp/missions etc.

if you strike the code, its not like it stays with you forever ^^ only for a few hours or something

The code only activates if you farm a spot under a certain time limit. That is to my understanding though, I may not be right, but if you clear the whole Skyward Reach of Hydra's you obviously surpass the time limit making the farming code inactive.

So it happens if you spend under a certain time in an area farming, then repeat, but if you spend long enough there, it doesn't trigger?

its sort of like people that cant beat THK. They spend a long time ( like over an hour) just to loose in the keep probably to the perfected cloak. They arent getting anti-farm there because they are spending alot of time. Say someone went in THK and soloed the first group of giant herders in like 2 minutes left and went back in and kept repeating. Obviously you arent doing the mission if you keep leaving after 2 minutes.

So the anti-farming code just triggers for an area if you spend too little time in it repeatedly?

I see. I don't suppose anyone has tried to find out the time threshold?

So if one has "acquired" the anti-farming code, how does one rid oneself of said code? In other words, if I was stupid about trying to get a particular boss to drop his dang staff and now he's dropping nothing, how do I deal with it?

from what I understand (never gotten it myself) it goes away on its own after 24 hours, or if you go play and complete a mission or 2 and/or finish some quests. Usually I kill a lot more than a single target when I 'farm' which is probably why I never get the blue square of doom.

Dudes the first time you get that Square the 2nd 3rd time you probably wont see it but you will see that the drops are decreasing.

Anti farming code is not really designed for us who farm for money. It only triggers when you farm the place over and over. Anti farming code is mainly designed for bots. Anyway, if youre still getting drops, you dont have the code yet. Anti farming code is a blue window that pops up on the top right corner of your window. Once you get that message, no matter how many times you try and come back to farm the enemies will refuse to drop loot. So, from what I've read here you either need to do a mission, complete it or do a pvp play.

I got the little blue window a few days ago at some 'certain' spot after about 7-8 runs.

However, when I did the run right after the run in which I got the blue 'Anti-Farming Warning' window, I still got a purple and a reasonable amount of other drops.
Then I tried a few times more at the same spot and got some gold items as well.
So the conclusion that the blue window indicates you will get significantly less loot might not be true.

never gotten a blue window. but i agree that the trolls and hydra over the last 2 weeks have dropped nothing but total junk. just troll tusks, raven staffs that are highly salvagable, with an ocassional shield or sword thats no count. no golds like before. even the avicaria drop junk, like scalps, armor, and whatnot.

havent been hydra farming in a while. but the last time i went like last week or so they dropped plenty of claws. same with griffon. i think they've all been nerfed. ive did a few mahgo hydra and jade armor too and didnt get anything other than a few pieces of gold and a raven staff with some white weapons.
