Default Best Farmer?

You guys are way above my level, I will be using this:http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10038096
link as a referance once I make, or start leveling up my new character.

I have been stubborn and mostly used my warrior for like ever since I got the game. You guys' farming builds are amazing I don't know how you come up with them all. In anyone who's willing to respond to this post's opinion, what is their favorite money making class? I am willing to devote a character entirely to farming whether it is boring or fun, but I'd also like this new character to be able to double as a fun character I can use elsewhere. I have played for a long time (over a year) but I don't really think outside the box enough to really understand the dynamics of some of the other classes. I'm very good with my stance tank (in PvE) and decent with my ranger and ok with my assassin:-) I have an elementalist sitting on level like 13 that I gave up on. If 55 Mesmer is a good farming build, I will keep him and level him up. If monk or necro is the way to go, I will use them. I would like this new character to be devoted to farming but diverse enough to take anywhere. This is why I'm not sure if mesmer is the way to go. I'm leaning toward Monk or Necro. If you guys could point me in the general right direction it would be appreciated. I will use the resources of this forum to get more specific details on my own. Yet and still, if you have a favorite farming spot, secondary profesion, or other useful tips for a beginer, they would be appreciated, some of these threads are way above my head at this point. Don't take that as a newb comment, I have done some little stuff like farm sorrows furnace with oro group as stance tank, or do tomb of the primeval kings for a while. I am concious of group tactics and everything, I'm just not totally on you guys' level.

I have all lvl 20's xcept for a mesmer and imo the most diverse farming class is the Elementalist. I use him to farm most of my greens. the reason i say Ele is not just because of sliver armor and the E/A builds out there but also becuase you can go as a geomancer and farm most everywhere. Also you can use him\her as a 55 or a spirit bonder to solo places like uw. g/l

for me, I like ele and necro for farming, 55/spirit bonder monk is good farmer too, and it's extremely easy to lvl up since everybody looking for monk for mission

I have only been farming for about 2 weeks now, and in that time I tried a necro (55 and sb), monk (55 and sb) and the rit. For me the Rit is the most versatile simply because I can farm necro enemies & bosses with him. I have not tried the Assassin, Mesmer (I am working on one now), Elementalist, Warrior or Ranger yet.

I like farming on ele. However, if you want to take one into any high end places, be prepared to create your own builds.

I can not say which is the best farmer as I farm with pretty much all of my characters. I have builds that I like to use for certain areas. I have spent the most time farming on my Warrior, Monk, and Ranger by far though. I have one of every class and can farm with every one of them depending on the area I want to do. Against most bosses I usually run a W/N or a Ranger build though. I have been having a lot of fun lately farming bosses as a beastmaster Ranger.

Mesmer can farm uw, fow, most other areas, shiroken especially, and can run droknar's + south shiverpeaks and chest runs in tyria and cantha.

And they have high style. So mesmers ftw.

ritualist is the best farmer, they can farm in area where no monk can ever dream of farming and they can farm anywhere monks can farm.

Okay. Just a suggestion here:

1. Don't make a character for the sole purpose of farming. Why would you do that? Make characters you want to play and have fun with them.

2. To some greater or lesser degeree, every single profession can farm. Obviously one profession can farm an area others can't and vice versa.

3. There is no "best" farmer in the game. Some professions can make more money/items than others.

4. Why would you be willing to play a "boring" farmer? You bought/play the game for fun. if you're bored, why play?

5. Keep in mind that all this "farming" is ultimalely worthless. None of this is real. It's all 1's and 0's at the end of the day.

6. Play to have fun.

Take or leave that advice as you see fit. gl hf

Why are you telling him what to play and what to not. If he wants to farm to enhance his gaming experience, let him. To some people farming is fun.
You can solo farm and stuff, but I prefer team farm just because there are people with you. Necromancer is always required for team farming.
Maybe not always, but 90% of the time, actually I can't think of any team farm that doesn't have necro. Dual UW Tank/Smite doesn't count because you can also 55/SS dual UW.
Necromancer is the most versatile class with crazy combinations. They are great offensive and support characters, so I'll say go for Necromancer. With at least 6 builds I can instantly think up right now, there's no doubt Necromancer is the most used farming build.
If you want to solo, you can try Warrior or Ritualist (they are not the only solo farming class, but the most common). Then again, you can just play a 55 SS solo Necromancer =D

farming can be fun too you know... how the hell are you supposed to get rare items huh? You may not like farming, thats your problem... but there are lots of people that love doing it! i dont do it because i wanna get rich, or farm the rarest items, no, i wanna see how one charakter can manage foes all on his own and find better and better ideas for it!

The reason I prefer rit farming to other classes (aka monk, mesmer, necro) is that the other classes depend on enchants too much. In a areas with enchant removal and degen those chars have a very hard time to stay alive. BUT. After comparing the diff farming builds/proffesions out there for the past few weeks, I would say monk is probably the char that can rake in the cash the fastest. A char I am trying now is the touch ranger boss farming, so will let you know how that turns out.

The best farmer is one that can solo and kill at the same time.

Any profession can solo and kill at the same time. Would still suggest a monk for farming.
