Default A couple of questions about farming code

I am pretty new to farming, since deciding to get elite sunspear armour for my Monk, I have been using the sheild of absorption build to farm and it's working pretty well I am aware that at some point I will need to take a break to avoid problems with the anti farm code.
For those experienced farmers, how long does it take before the code activates? (Just want an idea how long I can farm before needing to stop.)
Also, I understand the anti farming code is account based not character, is that correct? So say if I am farming with my monk, get the code message popup, then switch to my necro to run some missions (My monk has done them all, but my necro I want to get through the whole of factions and nightfall) Will this still remove the code flags, despite being a different character to the one I am farming with?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

5-10 runs depending on how long you take then do a mission to remove the flags. there is already a post about the antifarm code.

just keep in mind that everything anyone says about the farm code is speculation, the anti-farm specifics are a tightly guarded secret of Anet.

That being said, it is generally true that doing multiple consecutive runs will reduce your drop quality over time, and doing missions undoes this effect.

Its up to you to find a balance. I usually farm greens, so I am spending a moderate amount of time in multiple zones. This would possibly lead to me having less anti-farm than someone who was farming the same area over and over.
