Thanks for this build. it works well in FA kurzick side to hold turtle groups off. With 4 luxon warriors on you, the energy drain adds up for them AND the turtle. I held a group of warriors for he entire match. I keepp getting insulted for running this build, though...

I tried IoW and I found that if I'm interupted I'm pretty much dead anyways. An extra 200hp does nothing when you're surrounded by the entire mob of lvl 28 Shiro'Ken. Blessed Aura however buys me more time in case I do get interupted. +20% from my Totem Axe and +28% from Blessed Aura lengthens my enchantments quite nicely. My PS lasts for approximately 30 seconds and SB lasts about 12 seconds I believe. (figures not exact but close) Distortion > MoR because of the shorter recharge IMO also.

As far as XP is concerned it's bloody amazing. Sometimes the spawns are bad and you can't group them all. (Rangers, Assassins and Warriors) But 9/10 I can aggro the whole mob and pull them back so the Rangers are grouped together before I turn around and combine the meleers and Rangers.

Only people who are unskilled and who can't deal with certain builds resort to insults. It makes them feel better despite the fact they suck.

Since NO ONE has brought this up I'll assume I'm the first to think of this. Without PS activated the Shiro'Ken do well over 100+ dmg per hit easily with the lowest armor you can get. Now I haven't done the calculations but it's safe to say we don't need the lowest armor. All we need is armor levels to be low enough to trigger Spirit Bond. With this in mind I've thought about using "Mark of Protection" since it heals me 64hp per hit for 10 seconds with 16 in Protection. Since this Shiro'Ken build does not have an elite anyways why not put MoP in? It buys me 10 seconds more in case I get interupted. On paper it seems like it might work. Only problem is finding the right armor levels to work in conjunction with the 64hp per hit I'll be getting from MoP. Correct me if I'm wrong on this.

Yeah. I played one match, and for some reason, a necro on the other side was running Lingering Curse. that hurt. Anything else, and the healing from spirit bond just completely overpowers damage. Lifesteal isn't even a problem. It doesn't trigger SB, but the luxon warriors are too dumb to know to STOP HITTING THE MONK!

I have 466 HP. 46 damage, 96 heal. Every swing, from 4 hammer warriors. it's fun.

Only if you include a 20% enchant bonus. Otherwise Mark of Protection lasts 10 seconds. I'm assuming that's what you meant.

Cool

Good grief, I have to thank you for this build/idea one more time. Over the last few days I've gained over 500k experience and 250k gold from selling to merchant/other players. I got tired of spamming WTS and took less than what some of the items were worth and still made a killing! I think I made 15k+ alone selling Stone Souls. 7.5k per stack of 250.

Now, if only I could break my Shiro'Ken farming addiction to get my Monk down to the Harvest Temple, that would be great. It's like "Aww.. one more time then I'll go do something else".. "That went quick.. how about another run?"

The main threats in this run are the interrupts. Debilitating shot won't get your energy down as long as you stop occasionally to let the melee enemies hit you.

To counter the interrupts the obvious choice is Mantra of Resolve. However, this can be removed by the Warrior's Wild Blow... sometimes they do it instantly after you cast, sometimes they don't do it at all. When you cast SV (or AV), put on Mantra of Resolve right before it. And by that I mean, pressing the number for MoR and the number for SV immediately after. Only if you're really unlucky will you get interrupted.

As for Spirit Bond and Protective Spirit being interrupted, it's a pain and it's quite silly that they can manage to interrupt a fast-casted 1/4 second spell at all. But while running try to cast these when a fair distance away from the melee enemies at least, so they can't get in Disrupting Stabs and whatever else they have. Distracting Shot shouldn't interrupt you anyway unless you have no fast-cast or you're right beside a ranger.

Also, watch out for the melee enemies lagging. Sometimes they'll all stop about 10 feet away from you, but still be attacking.

Thanks for this build... it's netted me a nice amount of gold in a few hours

I kept exact record of 65 runs, seling everything after each run and writing down the total.

The average amount of gold per run is:

1014 (1013.6461538461538461538461538462)

IoW isn't for inturrupts, it's more for when spirit bond goes down for a second or ps, and you need a seond to quickly recast.

after a few hundred runs (240k worth) this is what I'm running:
armor: shing jea ascalon enchanters, illusion headpiece (I see no reason to go naked if it's easier to use shitty armor)
Runes:maj illusion, sup fast casting, minor insperation, minor vigor
Health:400

Attribs:
FC: 6 +3
Illusion: 9 +2 +1
Insperation: 7 +1
Prot: 12

FC healps alot with the inturrupts also.

skills:
PS
SB
AV
SV
MoR
Bals Spirit
Essence bond
IoW

Equipment: Fiery Flame Spitter of Enchanting (10% recharge 20% enchanting)
The rockmolder (10% recharge Illusion +1 20%)
I switched sets a few times, I found the 10 recharge on ffs to be more handy then the +5e on the totem. If only they didnt nurf pre-nurf rockmolders :/

For me the key is having a visage, ps, sb, and MoR up while agroing, wait a second and cast MoR and recast SB SV/AV PS, this way the sins mana is drained so they cant wild stab or disrupt and MoR protects from savage shot. Using MoR>sv/av fast works well if the visage is down as the sins will be wild stabing when you are casting the important enchant, once sv is up you are fairly safe from ints. You can actually recast IoW in battle once you are under attack and you will be instantly healed from the sac due to the wonders of SB. There have been runs where I needed to cast it 3 times, as any good mesmer knows if you need to recast IoW and it wasnt stripped that means it saved your ass. At any rate it's a very good farm, and with a little finesse, proper agro management, and good timing you should have a very low failure rate.

Ok.

Mark of Protection:
For 10 seconds, whenever target ally would take damage, that ally is healed for that amount instead, maximum 6...49. All your Protection Prayers are disabled for 5 seconds.

You don't take ANY damage while under MoP so al makes no difference. Sb and PS will be disabled for the first 5 seconds so you need to make sure to recast in the last 5 seconds of MoP. *edit what do ya know you do take damage >.< they need to fix the description to make that more clear

Me/Mo>Mo/Me, (something about greedy monks and a lack of mesmers because some people don't understand how awesome mesmers are <_<)

My first toon was a mes so I am biased in favor of the mesmer profession.

I kill to the last group of 3 sins and 2 rangers, then /resign every time. I haven't had anti-farming code kick in here yet, after tons of farming.

Why on earth would you ever post this? You just ruined perhaps the best farming location in the game..... now it'll be filled with billions of troll farming zombies and no one will ever see a rare drop again. Didn't anyone learn from the griffons fiasco? We killed on loot with that farm for weeks till someone released a video.... They'll probably strip out the Shiroken and replace them with a boss vermin that drops a protection staff....
