Default New Age Farming! (life after desert griffon farming)

So Arena Net "nerfed" the desert griffons outside of Augury. SO? There are a lot of other locations that we can still farm ! We just have to put our minds together. Here are my contributions (among a few others).

Shiverpeak Griffon Farming:
Where: North Exit of Fort Rankor (Southern Shiverpeaks) aka. Snake Dance

Skills: Protective Spirit, Shield of Judgement, Healing Breeze, Bonetti's Defense, Holy Veil, Balthazar's Spirit, Blessed Aura, Mending

Breakdown: +9 Heal, Max Smite, +10 Prot, +12 Divine
(play around with your combo's for your best results)

How To Get There: As soon as you exit fort rankor, Go straight, Take a left at the fork in the road. Steer clear of the group of Dwarves and take a left into the Blessed Griffons (there may be a vew dolyak drarves around but im sure you can handle those).

How To Farm It: Normal Griffon Style...Just imagine the Dolyak's are sort of like large dev's in the desert (aka deal with them).

Gold Per Hour: [TBA]

Downsides: Dolyaks are hard to deal with...very hard (avoid if possible).
--------------------

Talus Chute Ice Imp Farming
Where: Outside the entrence to Ice Caves of Sorrow (aka Talus Chute)

Skills: Protective Spirit, Shield of Judgement, Healing Breeze, Bonetti's Defense, Holy Veil, Balthazar's Spirit, Blessed Aura, Mending
NOTE: For better results, you may want to switch out bonetti's defense with ballanced stance.

Breakdown: +9 Heal, Max Smite, +10 Prot, +12 Divine
(play around with your combo's for your best results)

How To Get There: As you step outside of Ice Caves of Sorrow, Proceed to the revive point. Take a right turn (as that is the only place you can go). Cross the bridge and you will notice a fairly large group (not as big as those up in mineral springs) of Ice Imps.

How To Farm It: I advise you watch this video-> http://files.filefront.com/idswmv/;4.../fileinfo.html of Remmeh soloing Ice Imps with a 55 monk. Once you have seen the video, you will notice two things.

1. Remmeh's life started at 8hp. (you dont need to get 8 hp. just lower your hp!. get the -20 offhand from presear (poor tenant quest) or any other -20 offhand. equip. die once or just use your -50 offhand (for 55 hp) if you dont have one.

NOTE: Buying or farming for a better -20 offhand would help A LOT since the only problem that I find very common is that I run out of Energy when I need it. Another might be that I cant seem to solve the interrupt problem well.

2. Remmeh casted SoJ BEFORE going into the pack of Ice Imps (so he has time to recast his Protective Spirit when the ice imps are knocked down)

Use this method to farm the Ice Imps (and beware not to aggro those siege golems! )

Gold Per Hour: [TBA]
NOTE: Nice Drops

Downsides: VERY HARD. Interrupted a lot. For Experienced Farmers. No perfected build. No IDS.

Lord_Seafood's Ice Imp Build:
Quote:
Mo/Me

Inspiration 6
Healing 13
Smiting 16
Protection 7
Divine 7

Protective Spirit
Breeze
Shield of Judgement
Zealots Fire
Mantra of Resolve
Essence Bond
Mending
Balthazars Spirit

I find I can take about 5 or 6 Imps at a time. Just keep Mantra of Resolve up and watch for the drop in energy everytime you cast in a Malestrom thing. Its probably beneficial to stay in the Malestrom thingies as you'll be getting 2 energy every hit. So you'll find energy isn't a problem. Most of the time Zealots will be useless, however if you get one Imp on its own it makes it a hell of a lot quicker so I choose to bring it. I also run out and take out the Ice Golems in the frozen river thingie, theres more Imps further north. Probably wise to bring some keys too, I saw three chests on one run.
[NOTE: Resolve works WONDERS. Thanks ]

--edit--
I would like to also add that it is much easier to farm these Imps with 2 55 monks. One would run an echo spell breaker 55 monk (yes this one doesnt attack) while the other is a regular SoJ 55 monk (as seen above). The echo 55'er cast sb on the attacking 55 monk and maintains it. Don't know how effective this may be (since drops are spread out). Tested it with a friend only once before he had to go. More tests and a build later.
----------------------

After getting the Ice Imp farming down, I'll try and see if farming the Siege Golems that are near the Ice Imps are profitable as well.

-----------------------

Sand Drake Farming:

Where: Outside of Elona's Reach (aka Salt Flats)

Skills: Protective Spirit, Shield of Judgement, Healing Breeze, Bonetti's Defense, Holy Veil, Balthazar's Spirit, Blessed Aura, Mending

Breakdown: +9 Heal, Max Smite, +10 Prot, +12 Divine
(play around with your combo's for your best results)

How To Get There: Walk outside and the Sand Drakes are scattered around that area.

How To Farm It: Same as Desert Griffons (including those loveable dev's)

Gold Per Hour: [TBA]
NOTE: most likely decent - low yield of gold/items compared to other areas listed on this thread. Other than that, THIS IS ONE OF THE EASIEST 55 FARMING LOCATIONS. Reccomended for training for new 55 monks.

Downsides: Decent - Low gold/item yield. Monster groups are spread out over a vast area.
-------------------------

Desert Griffon Farming (elsewhere) by Linsys:

However this is one of my favorite runs because the Sand Giants drop gold items... and there are quite a few of griffons to farm.. about 15+ I think... and if you keep going you can farm some hydras as well.

The sand eles can be a bit of a pain, just try not to agro more then 3-4 of them.... when you need to cast something just run arround a bid, since they use shock which will knock you down.
Gold Per Hour: [TBA] I haven't tried this build/run yet completely, but it should work without much of a problem.
NOTE: high yield of items, gold, etc. (since its so long)

Downsides: incorperating many different runs might make this run slow. Long run in general.
------------------------

Minotaur Farming (courtasy: AwesomeSauce)

Where: Outside Heroe's Audiance (aka prophet's path)

Skills: Protective Spirit, Shield of Judgement, Healing Breeze, Bonetti's Defense, Zealot's Fire, Balthazar's Spirit, Blessed Aura, Mending

OR any other 55 farming build you have (reletively easy farming spot)

Breakdown: +9 Heal, Max Smite, +10 Prot, +12 Divine
(play around with your combo's for your best results)

How To Get There: [See map above] Note: Yes you must use the teleporter to reach the mino's

How To Farm It: Same as you would desert griffons (with rockshot dev's around)

Gold Per Hour: [TBA]

Downsides: Not a lot of monsters to kill. There seems to be a lot of rockshot dev's around. Teleporting slows this run down.
--------------------

Sand Elemental Farming (quick and easy)

Note: As I was testing out the mino farming that Awesome Sauce posted, I spotted a decently large group of Sand Elementals to the left of Heroe's Audience.

Where: Outside Heroe's Audience (aka Prophet's Path)

Skills: Protective Spirit, Shield of Judgement, Healing Breeze, Ballanced Stance, Holy Veil, Balthazar's Spirit, Blessed Aura, Mending

Breakdown: +9 Heal, Max Smite, +10 Prot, +12 Divine, +3 Tactics
(play around with your combo's for your best results)

How To Get There: [see map above] Note: there are two main groups of sand elementals. The first group (the one I went to first) is on the right and contains usually less elementals. This group also contains a couple jade scarabs (so you decide if you want to farm that as well). The second group that I went to (the one on the left) is usually larger and usually never contains any scarabs.

How To Farm It: Use ballanced stance when casting/recasting SoJ. Use ballanced stance if you NEED to cast breeze or protective spirit (only if you are dieing and you keep getting knocked down). AND MAKE SURE you keep away from those nasty scarabs.

Gold Per Hour: 1-2k per run.
Runs are faster than griffon runs and a lot closer. Gold items DO drop (just not as much as old desert griffons used to). A lot of common items that can be salvaged into material. No word on runes yet.

Downsides: less golds than old desert griffon farming. Knockdown is irritating. Anti-Farming string might kick in.

I see you've been terribly overactive in the past hour!

Some very nice contributions and I guess i'll have to give those Imps a try.

Guess those bots will have to flood rankor >_>

As for me handling the Dolyaks in rankor. They're all..ZOMG IMA m35m3r j00. How I hate them so much.

Very active indeed. To tell you the truth...Last night I was on when the patch came out. I did try to griffon farm with no success. Then I went on GWG to figure out the situation. After figuring out that there was nothing I could do to farm desert griffons I went to bed (with a bad headache i must add). And guess what I was dreaming of? Thats right. Guild Wars Farming! I was farming in my sleep. By the next morning all that I could remember was farming Blessed Griffons in snake dance (no im not lieing). It's quite sad actually (to be dreaming about farming that is).

And yes...those Dolyaks are a bit tough to get by I try to avoid them as much as possible or lure them away (which fails most of the time). And having those Dolyaks around would mean that botters would need to find a way to get around those Dolyaks without dieing so i guess thats a plus.

Now your mind is getting to intensive about Guild Wars. I reccomend a day's off -_-

May as well add that I got a bunch of azure remains and a -low and behold- a gold max damage req 8 spatha! *glow* Without much of a delay I indentified to find myself in disgust. No mods aside from an Ebon Hilt. T_T

As for bots. If they are anything like the Diablo bots I know, they would get away if anything got messy. Maybe there would be a scan around the field for those..dol...yaks..

Very nice, this should be stickied. You should also include the grawl farming outside port sledge, there's a lot to be farmed there too

take the exit into snake dance, not talus chute. There is no avicara in Snake.

Hey GJ. Remmeh had 8 hp because of the run to there, there's a place where he has to die else he's facing like 3 heretics and ice golems, so its pretty much impossible without SB. You don't really need 8 hp otherwise

oh sorry for the mix up. 8 hp was just a reminder to lower your hp (sinc its easier). I'll update.

--edit--
Updated: rephrased lower hp and added Linsys's desert griffon farming.

shame they removed lost strongbox from DD.
I used to farm all snakes dance (well most of it, normally avoided the stone summits in the beginning) all the way to DD and farm DD for chests...

Still all good, but for snakes dance i would recomend just running from those random stone summit heretics and start fighting ur way to DD when u get to the huge group of trolls.
BTW dont forget balanced stance. (the build Ubermancer posted is perfect for this... thanks uber)

I used to Dread's chest farm (before it got removed ) I also used Ubermancers build for it <3. However, it didnt occur to me that maybe I should farm snakedance untill after the patch.

Those trolls also might be a bit hard to get to for a lot of farmers.

You could always leave from Heros Audience instead of Dunes to avoid the enchanted bows or swords.
