i solo farm with a 130hp dervish, cost me about 30k (maybe a bit less) to set up, thats for armour, runes, insignia, skills, weapon. i farm outside nundu bay on NM (kill the healers really slowly in HM, makes each run too long for me lol), i can make like 1k on a great run and like 200g on a bad run just from merchant junk and coin drops (runs take about 15 mins). also the rare greens from bosses drop often enough and each one can be sold for 5k. I find this build and place great for solo farming because its nice steady money so u dont have to rely on that 1 really lucky drop. Also i find farming this spot works best if u have a goal to keep u focused as money is made steadily and not in spikes so ur guna have to be in it for the long haul rather than getting really lucky in 4 hours of farming and getting that drop u wanted. When i wanted my primeval armour i farmed for about 8 hrs or so and made the money ( had lucky drops and guildies gave me the materials for armour)

so for me i find dervish best as ive only farmed with it but since the 130hp build is a rip off of the 55 monk build, monks are probably better than dervishes for farming :P

Having all Professions ftw?
With all professions, you have more versatility.
Monks can farm something, but not everything
Rits can farm somethings that monks can't farm, but not everything
Eles can farm somethings that rits and monks can't farm, but not everything.
See the pattern?
Unless you want to stick with certain farming spots, I prefer having all professions available to farm at anytime

If you are able to say "I don't need to buy those, I can farm all of those" you are truly the farmer.

Of Course, all of these are my opinion

IMO, go ele..
They can farm simple gold areas,
Solo bosses,
Specific spots (like glacial stones)
And if you make a female one they look good

Not to go too far off topic here, but imo female rit > female sin > female ele.

money wise ele is the best hands down

terra tank UW is the most protfitable farm ive seen yet

i have 55 necro, 55 monk, terra tank, warrior, and a ranger (trapping)

i can average 12 minutes a smite run with terra tank and i average 1 ecto a run thats 5 ecto an hour, do the math...

but as far as the most fun builds i would have to say trapper, its always fun to get another guildie or 2 and kill the aatxes in hard mode

outside of UW id say 55 necro it can farm just about anywhere and is very versatile if u know how to use it.

Assassins.
Reason? They have farming spots in every campaign...
They can farm bosses, rare swords(colossal&elemental), DoA, hulkings etc.

Yeah, but how effective are those farms? Colossals and elementals don't exactly drop every run, and once you get one, you'll sell it for maybe 70, 80k. Imo, if I'm going to be working for a rare drop, I want it to be worth something significant.

Elementalist.
Outside Rata Sum.
Guaranteed 20k minimum every hour.
Alternative Assassin/Elementalist.
Boom - Its a leet farm
Btws, Elementalist are among the best farmers these days, since they have the highest damagespells in the game. I.E Sliver Armor. (can deal thousands of damage over 15 seconds) - AND, they can go 55hp aswell, which means that they can tank a large amount of mobs, whilst nuking, and dealing very high damage.
Monks on the other hand do not have so much "raw" damage, mainly SoJ, SS and SV, but then again, you have to go Mo/N - results in losing a choise of second profession.
I know very little about Ritualists, but from what I've heard, the only "real" farm skill they have is VwK, and they have to use a second profession to reduce their input damage, which also limits their restrictions.
Thats my oppinion.

Maybe VwK is the only "real" farm skill we have, but is hits everybody and it heals us, unlike Sliver Armour wich only kill's one target at a time,

And Rt have good self heal so we don't need a sec prof for that, we usually need a sec prof for dmg reduction(war+armour monk+prot).

Monks.

The original farmers...they can solo many areas, if there is a problem with hex removal, they can either cover it, or take SB and a partner.

UW, FoW...there arent many places some form of Mo/X can do.

Only thing I dont like about monks, is that most builds are 'gimped' 55's, 600's etc, wish they were a bit more original.

An elementalist dont need no self healing and if it need something, just toss in aura of restoration. Also, an elementalist can farm in heavy spellcaster-crowded areas, since its among the few professions who can keep up a "anti-spell-shield" at all time.
About Sliver armor; It killes one foe at the time = more loot, due to lootscaling. So a skill like SoJ or VwK doesnt bring you more loot.

Aura of resto is horribad for healing. And according to another thread in this same forum, the game doesn't give a damn when or how you kill things - just that you kill them - for loot.

I would say monk as they seem to be able to kill things that are difficult if not impossible for others to kill.

Plus they have the added benefit to being easily moved through campaigns via pugs who are always in need of healers. Thus able to reach to more farming areas quicker than most other classes.

Gonna stick with the Monk here. Ele's are great but more prone, at this point, to nerfing for the PvP crowd. Stick with the tried-and-true.

I seriously disagree with the fact that Aura should be bad, whilst farming you cast alot of high energy spells ( 10e+) which gives you a load of healing.

Mostly you dont need it, because the only damage u will take with terratank or something similiar is 0.
