Default Any/Rt + 1 Hero Glint Challenge Farm

Before I go any further, I'd like to point out that this build is fully inspired by "dont feel no pain". The original post can be found here:http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10217319

First of all, the hero. The hero's build is more or less the same throughout. Any ranger, +energy staff may be useful, but isn't required

Wilderness: 12+3+1, Expertise: 12

[skill]serpent's quickness[/skill][skill]quickening zephyr[/skill]

Assassin:

Restoration Magic: 12. Shadow Arts: 12

[skill]Vengeful Was Khanhei[/skill][skill]Vengeful Weapon[/skill][skill]Dark Escape[/skill]

Dervish:

Restoration Magic: 12. Earth prayers: 8. Wind Prayers: 10 ???

[skill]Vengeful Was Khanhei[/skill][skill]Vengeful Weapon[/skill][skill]Conviction[/skill][skill]Natural Healing[/skill][skill]"I Am Unstoppable!"[/skill]

Mesmer:

Restoration Magic: 12. Inspiration Magic: 12, though it is possible to lower Inspiration a bit to allow for points in fast casting.

[skill]Vengeful Was Khanhei[/skill][skill]Vengeful Weapon[/skill][skill]Mantra of Frost[/skill][skill]"I am Unstoppable!"[/skill]

Add this to your Hero: [skill]Greater Conflagration[/skill][skill]Winter[/skill]

Monk:

Restoration Magic: 12. Healing Prayers: 12 ???

[skill]Vengeful Was Khanhei[/skill][skill]Vengeful Weapon[/skill][skill]Heal Area[/skill][skill]"I am Unstoppable!"[/skill]

Necromancer:

Restoration Magic: 12. Soul Reaping 12+X

[skill]Vengeful Was Khanhei[/skill][skill]Vengeful Weapon[/skill][skill]signet of lost souls[/skill][skill]"I Am Unstoppable!"[/skill]

Paragon:

Restoration Magic: 12. Command: 12+1+3.

[skill]Vengeful Was Khanhei[/skill][skill]Vengeful Weapon[/skill][skill]"Never Surrender!"[/skill][skill]"Stand Your Ground!"[/skill]

Ritualist:

Use a variation of any of the above.

If you're an elementalist, use the Obsidian Flesh build, it's better.

Warriors and Rangers are covered in the other post this one is based on.

Any runes can be added to make the run more effective, any armour should do, as long as it's max

Usage: (copied out of other thread :P)

Quick Guide To Normal Mode:

1. Enter -> Flag hero/Friend by the end of the baby dragons left wing.
2. Go right and wait untill the destroyers start atacking the rangers.
3. When the last one on your side is being attacked, hit SQ -> QZ on your ranger, and run in.
4. You Should try and time it that when you get to the middle all dwarven rangers would have died that second and Qz is just up and rdy.
5. Spam your skills.

Notes:

These builds are theoretical but should work. I'd like people to test the builds with ??? written next to them as those are the ones I'm unsure of. Any hints or tips are greatly appreciated, and this thread will be edited to add your input!

Thanks

Professions confirmed to work:

Warrior
Ranger
Necromancer
Elementalist
Mesmer
Paragon
Ritualist
Assassin

Still Testing:
Monk
Dervish

I'd say Arcane Echo + VwK on Mesmer or Ritualist builds.

Maybe, but [skill]arcane echo[/skill] is an enchantment and is therefore prone to shatter enchantment. Besides, that's why the ranger hero is there, to make sure VwK can be kept up ~100% of the time.

arcane echo doesnt become enchantment after u cast a spell, thats why u cast vwk just before they reach you

Except Shatter Enchantment casts in ~.5 seconds, whereas you need 1.75 seconds after using AEcho before you can put VmK out.

Yeah I know it doesn't but then you can keep VwK up for a constant 30 seconds, after which... you're dead. The point of the hero is to have the recharge time of all your skills. It's a dual farm.

If you're using a hero ranger the only thing you need is VwK

I'm afraid that's not the case, it may be with a ranger cos they have so much armour against the Spirit Rifts, or with a warrior for the same reason, but i struggle on my nec.

Tried the dervish build, it doesn't work. Absolutely no e-management. I gave the hero Essense Bond and Balth spirit but didn't realise they get stripped (never farmed glint's before..)

Did you take I am unstoppable? that should negate some damage, and then there's a small regen and natural healing for a small cheap heal if really needed, dervish have a fair base armour anyway. I don't have a dervish, like i said, just trial builds really.

Unstoppable + conviction armour doesn't stack, so there is no need to use both. It works ok survival wise, just after 20 secs your energy is gone

im going to attempt this with the paragon variation, but i believe that SYG is not a good option, as is an additional 15e, which you simply cannot afford when spamming vwk, with no other e-management. im brainstorming ways to get additional armor, for cheap cost, and/or e-management that works, so SYG can be used.

EDIT: i found that great dwarf armor is a good choice for armor buffs, for every class, not only paragon. as its only 5 energy, and can last a descent ammount of time, giving you +48(24+24vs destroyer) armor in this challenge.

*copy'd from wiki* Great Dwarf Armor Enchantment Spell. For 10...40 seconds, target ally has +24 armor, +60 maximum Health, and an additional +24 armor against Destroyers.

Aha good point! I never put my Delver title on and alot of those skills are more effective vs Destroyers

I'll try editing the Derv build later and see how it goes.

EDIT: realised that Great Dwarf Armour will be stripped, Your not using skills that target destroyers so the title effect is useless and nothing else from the Delver skill list would seem useful

aww crap, i completely overlooked that little detail... well.. can always try using the pve only shout.. "i am unstopable!" i think thats what its called.. anyway, its like +24 armor, shout, and low mana cost, if memory serves me right.

i guess i can try goin in game to look at the skills, other than just thinking about them while browsing forums. ill keep you updated if i find anything that will work for the para, or usefull for all classes.

Thanks for the input guys as this is very much a discussion thread, i need everyone's input as i don't have all the necessary characters in the Central Transfer Chamber.

But so far, we know it's possible with:

Warrior
Ritualist
Ranger
Elementalist
Assassin
Mesmer

That's more than half the professions, the rest need to be looked into.

i'd prefer the war build too, or the ranger or ele or assassin, or mesmer, but none of those chars are my mains and there must be a way to do it on the others!
