Default Snowmen Farming [HM] Any Profession

Hello. Here is a very simple guide how to farm the first 2 groups of Snowmen in the Secret Lair of the Snowmen.
All you need is Spiteful Spirit, anti cripple, speed boost and something to block. Blocking is needed to succesfully aggro both groups in seconds.
My run as Warrior:
Skills:
1.Enraging Charge.
2.Sprint (optional).
3.Dark Pact - 1 ene skill just for Glimmering Snowman to interrupt, when he wastes his interrupt on this skill you can put SS freely.
4.Spiteful Spirit - your damage dealer.
5.Mental Block - non-stance blocking. Can be replaced by something else.
6."I Am Unstoppable!" - anti cripple when aggroing.
7.Endure Pain - in case you will be low on hp.
8.Signet of Stamina - just additional hp to make the run safer.

What are you gonna do ? Just head into the lair, hit some +hp skills, "IAU!", Mental Block and rush past the first group to find the second one. When you see them coming to you run backwards to the first group and past the gate at the beginning. Now head right and hide behind the wall. If the Snowmen aren't lined together make few steps back. Hit SS and watch them drop loot.
I have no idea if they drop any rare skins but they surely do drop a lot of q9 items.

Screenies of the run :
Aggro

Dealing damage

Loot drops!

This way the run can be done by every profession. If your profession can't get a speed boost you will have to use a PvE skill (e.g. Mindbender).
If you really can't lure both groups just die. The second group will come closer allowing you to pull them easier.

Discuss. Cheers.

They'll drop the Oaken Aegis Skin, also a LOT of monk tomes.

I made a video of this like 3 months ago now. I don't find them to be really worth it after they took away the XP gain. Drops just get worse and worse, you can get some not bad skins but golds are not that common. They do drop Monk Tomes but again thats not common.

Before they changed it I would have recommended this for the XP (See picture) but personally don't be expecting much from farming them now.

having some pretty good result with your build and made a few changes to adapt to my prof and my available skills.

Ranger Necro for snowman

Defile Defense i use to trigger Glimmer boy's interupt then cast SS and Defile defense again.

Since he likes to put up his little wall to block i just wand at him.

Well of Suffering just speeds up things a bit.

Fun and the drops are nice. Almost as easy as farming the frost wurms outside Boreal Station.

This actually, could be considered another kind of fast food farming eh? I ought to do a few fastfood spider runs then this and see how it compares. Only thing is, not a big chance of elite ranger tome ^.^

Well, if we could get past just the first 2 groups......this farm would be serious money.

It's not that difficult either from what i'm seeing. The only 2 issues here are knockdown and daze. Knockdown/Cripple can be countered with "I am Unstoppable", and Daze/Interrupt can be countered with Glyph of Concentration as long as you use them on your "Stay Alive" skills.

Something along the lines of an E/Me or E/Mo would do it. Since they all deal cold damage, [skill]Mantra of Frost[/skill] would give you 2 energy each time you're hit.

A good thing here is that since they all stay at ranged distance, you can snuggle up next to a mischievous snowman and wtfpwn him with sliver.

Does Mantra of Frost reduce the damage from Snowballs?

Or you can use xinrae + whirlwind as a R/Rt. Clear them in 1-2 min with whirlwind, how long does it take with SS ?

For me it's 1 gold every 4 runs i think.

And there's half a chance to get an easy reachable chest just after, so if you clear them in 2 min, that's 15 chest / hours for chest runners .

Did you mean whirling defense? That'd be a good idea, but doesn't it cause scatter?

Takes about the same time as casting SS twice.

The first group is really easy to aggro, you stand in the doorway and when Shimmer boy start to talk they're all yours. I then cast Drunken Master, I'M unstoppable, and any of the blocking stance. Then its behind the wall and SS away. If Glimmer boy interupt me i wait till SS is recharge then castDefile defenses to waiste his interupt and i SS them again.

Since Dwarfy seem to dumb to get out of their line of fire, the moment he dies i use the Well of Suffering to speed things up.

If i take count of all the zoning and running to aggro, i do this well under 10 min

Yes I mean whirling defense.

EDIT : I recently farmed in NM here (for chests :P), so I don't remember if it doesn't cause scatter in HM. However, you kill so fast, that the aggro don't have time to scatter , or you can follow them if they want to break aggro.

You can clean both waves with 2 whirling defenses, except one or two snowmen, sometimes both can be clean with one whirling defense. Of course it must be used with dwarven stability.

Best time to clean waves except 1 or 2 snowmen is about 1 min, average is 2 min, including chest check (ie : running until you meet the two snowmen with their giant snowball). Merchant is 2 min every 7 or 8 run, so if you include this + zoning, I think the average run is done in about 2:30 min.

That's 24 runs / hour, with on average 1 gold every 4 runs, that's about 6 golds / hours (excluding chests).

EDIT 2 : I found the build I used in HM, it's here. I think it can be improved.

Question: could this be done with an adapted form of the Ele speed farm outside Sunspear Great Hall? I don't have the template code to hand, but I'll update next time I log in...

EDIT: Yes, yes it can. Template code is [OgBDksy8QID+CNN0NGD0kfVlVA]. And seeing as they are snowmen and weak against fire, this works a treat. Should be dead almost before you can get SF off However, as yet I can't aggro both groups at the same time, so I'm sure the build could be much refined.

From Wiki:
Quote:
Snowmen do not suffer additional damage from fire.
But the AoE works just fine on them.

I don't see the point of just farming 20 snowmen then /resign, the whole dungeon takes 20 mins tops in HM. Last time I went I got 4 gold drops not counting chests, with H/H. My lockpicks ALWAYS break in that place for some reason.

@ Titine - WD + LR + Dwarven Stability is awsome. Love those combos, basically constant 75% chance to block.
