Default A nifty trick for solo farming in tricky areas..

This won't work in missions, but it works for farming in zones. Especially good for places which you have to pass through one zone to reach another. I'll use the example of an IDS run.

Add 7 henchies to the group. Enter zone, flag near portal and proceed through zone. At the end of the first zone on the IDS run, you can either wait for a patrol to move and jog through casually, OR you can be faced by a wall of death and have to rush to res shrine to activate it. At this point, open up the portable map thing (U key default) and reflag all your henchmen through the portal you left them stood by. They run to the portal, and then teleport to you. Do it a few times (the flag disappears after the first hench reaches it) until they are all at your location. Now you have portable, on demand meatshields.

It works nicely on the IDS run for dealing with the tundra giants, any annoying and bad boss spawns, and allowing you to easily reach the second half of the cave (by killing that Ice monster guy).

I guess it works in other zones too. Could have been posted before, but whatever. Hope it helps someone out there.

I do this when im mapping, I take a full group... flag them at portal and if I die I flag one through portal, and it rezzes me. While it stays there and takes aggro I run off scott-free

This isnt necessarily for tricky spots, more or less quick re-entry for fast farming.

For example, Rata Sum, once you have cleared the cave with the Raptor Nestlings, let the patrolling group of Raptors kill you, when you Rez at the shrine, run through the door back into Rata Sum. Now the next time you clear the cave, you can just type /resign & you end up right in front of the door you last ran into, making a easy run back out into Riven Earth & not having to deal with all the lag running across the town to get back out to the raptors.

This will work with a majority of the towns in GW. Unfortunately not in Lutgardis for HFF

Interesting glitch, not sure when i'd use it but nice to know just the same.

I just worked out the /resign trick a couple of days ago, would have saved me a heap of time farming Raptors this past few weekends...d'Oh! The 10-15 seconds you save in town quickly adds up making you around 20% more productive.

I've been using this for awhile too. When I posted about it, someone said this was actually a change to correct some kind of bug with sending henchmen through a gate.

I mostly use this when I'm running my other account through different parts of the game. If I screw up during the run, I just use a hero flag to "teleport" a hero to my location to rez me and then I keep going. For particularly hard runs (like droks) I have bars with anti knockdown and protection skills to keep the hero alive long enough to rez me.

I use this method for tricky runs e.g. some places in EOTN flag heroes, make sure all have rez signet or a quick rez like chant and shove one through the portal :P

I'm shocked also. It's been something I guess people have either shushed about, or just not thought it was worthwhile.

Didn't know about the resign trick though...that's pretty nifty o_o

Well, this is due to the fact that you only zone when you CROSS a portal, meaning you can teleport on someone who has crossed the portal for you and map the whole place without worrying about monsters. Imagine if you only had to put Recall on your henchmen, then flag them through a portal, then just explore the whole area. Swell isn't it? Elonian Carthographer anyone?

So Anet made henchies tele back to you so you don't abuse it. Well, it would be 100% fixed if they made them come back to 5 meters in front of the portal, but that is way too much work for a little glitch that is fun to use and very helpful.
