Mercenary, just use OoB early on so it recharges before you actually run out of energy again.... Don't wait untill the last moment possible.

New Items Update... Lets see if Touchers are effective here

EDIT:
Touchers can solo the Falls... The last part os very hard though. For killing the Root Behemoths, just lure one of the Life pods away and kill it.

A lot of the Am Fah Assassins use Blinding Powder on you.

Plague Touch it off right away, keeping Throw Dirt for reserve. Use OoB as soon as you are 18-20 EN down.

Ghial goes splat.

I'll check on how short I can make the Ghial run tomorrow.

Maybe a Blood Wand and Focus, both with 20% recharge for Blood Magic. This should help with your energy if you get quick recharges on OoB

Notes on Ghial:

Takes a long time, either from Senji's Corner or from Marketplace.

Market is marginally faster most likely.

I used two run skills since it's a long way.

Ghial fight just requires a little patience and is easy.

Ok so what's the deal? I've been using this build to farm a couple of bosses, and I got 0 greens so far. I've gone at Cultist Milthuran 5-10 times and the best I've gotten is a gold scroll. Same thing the Craw Stonereap...It's not the farming code either because I don't farm at all. (I was happy to finally be able to do it with my ranger). What requirements are there for a boss to drop his green? Do you have to kill him fast? Isn't being alone enough? I know it doesn't drop always, but never??! come on.

the only difference with what I do is I use a +5e^50 wand instead of the katana (not ready to blow 15k on it before I've had any real results with this build), is it absolutely necessary to keep pommeling the target with a melee weapon for this to be effective?

I don't know the ins and outs of the farming code, and frankly for the purposes of this thread, it does not matter much.

The purpose of this thread is to show you what targets you can hit using this build and approximately how hard I think they are. Of course, the idea is that loot comes from the kill, but YMMV and I can't really help you with that.

FWIW, the reason I chose the 5 EN Katana is 1) it looks cool and 2) I had a fortitude mod in my bank already. I like it better than a wand because in order to attack it requires melee range, unlike a wand. It may be less damaging than using a blood wand, but I like the other benefits. I still haven't added a second mod, but my guy looks a little bit like he's holding two swords with the items I chose, and I like that.

Also, if you compare the list of targets on the hit list with the prices listed for green items, you will see that I have chosen to kill many of the highest priced greens over greens that are lower priced. , though I hit a few of those too as I was warming up.

Anyway, best of luck.

I totally understand that, but I'm not getting any greens, so I'm not making any money, so buying the Katana before making ANY money is dumb, because I'll be throwing 15k which I could use to buy two more ectos for my FoW armor away.

Just go to the Tomb of Primeval Kings and buy a cheap staff there. Get either Milius Pillar or Kole's Torment. Both give 15e and can be had for 1-2k.

They also have a 10/10 spells mod which you really don't need, but it's there anyway.

I used just one dodge spell and could make it to ghial from senji's easily. But I could not manage to kill him because his group of about 3-4 mesmers and a ritualist are stuck to him. I tried to pull him or a mesmer away and ended up dying from all of the stuff attacking.

I rated Ghial hard b/c of the length of the run to him and his crew.

I always carry a long bow, and I used that to lure out and kill his crew. Might be luck of the draw but so far every time I've gone it's been about the same.

Milthuran kindly decided to give me his staff after many runs, that encouraged me to take on some other enemies.

I tried and killed: Strongroot Tanglebranch rating: hard
First I cleared the Kirins in the area (simple)
then I aggroed Strongroot's mob with a longbow, and slowly pulled them into the afflicted. Some stuck on me so I walked over to the rez shrine and the kurzicks helped me. Strongroot's group takes out the afflicted and the construct, luckily strongroot survives relatively unscathed, if a couple of dragon mosses/undergrowths are left, kill them, then take on Strongroot (I died once while fighting him, then came back, it seems best to always keep him blinded).

also, having the blessings of the kurzicks is very useful, because it gives you +25hp and +3 regen, which is like mending, which we all know makes you 1337

p.s. I didnt get his green :/

Has anyone tried to farm kenshi with this build? (I didn't see it on the first page).

Last I checked his daggers sold for ~30k per pair.

EDIT: How do you farm Lian? Kill his entire mob or just bypass it and charge him?

Grats on your first green. Milts a punk, you can roll him in under 5 minutes whenever you want a little cash.

NJ on the Strongroot kill, I'll check him a little later to see how hard I think, then I'll add another line to the hitlist. :-)

Getting shrine blessings falls under the category of "know your enemy". If you're fighting something with Chilblains, for instance, getting a blessing might be a bad thing.

Sorry there wasn't another drop for ya.

Kenshi owned me the first time I tried him, but that was before I really had the bad touch thing down, too. Might revisit to see what I think.

On Lian, I killed his whole posse after playing with them for a few to see what the fight zone looked like. Even with my playing it didn't take long.

Watch out for Am Fah in this one, their archers Cripple, Poison, Bleed you which is not fun if you're not in melee range.

Ya, for now I agree with hard rating. I haven't been able to figure out how to take out the Afflicted and SR's guards without losing Strongroot. Only made 1 successful kill out of 4 tries, other 3 got KSed by shrine guards (2) or too much DP (1).

I tried Strongroot again, but this time the Ritualist's Construct survived the fight. He's impossible to kill. We were at a stalemate for a good 5 minutes, I couldn't get him under 50% hp and he couldn't kill me. I then pulled him towards the shrine, the guards helped me kill him, but needless to say, nothing dropped.

btw, for some reason I can't manage to kill Xuekao

Also, I tried Skkai, Dragon's Birth: he's near impossible, he does 300+ damage with zaishisugblabla-u slash or whatever it's called, way too much damage to recover with touching. Blinding works, but I only got him down to about half hp, whirling/dodge/zojun's haste aren't enough to keep you going, all he needs is a couple of hits and you're done for.

One more thing: might wanna add Craw Stonereap to your list difficulty (easy as it gets, and pretty fast too)

I killed Orosen outside senji's. I usually die once or twice before i kill all the mesmers and eles around him but that doesen't matter. Just lure the group into the guards at the bridge. 4 kills no green.

Anyway if you want a staff go outside sledge port and kill some grawls, there is a collector for a 20/20 blood staff (staff upgrades are so cheap nowdays)
