Default R/N vs: Rajazan, Strongroot, Lou of the Knives plus many easier bosses.

GANKED by the Bad Touch: Ghial, Rajazan, Lou, Arius, and many more. See the Hit List below.

Many of you probably know Touch Rangers in PvP, where they can be kind of a pain in the butt. What you may not know is that with minor alterations, the build can be very effective in PvE as well. I've been using my Toucher Ranger to kill bosses for Green items, and I have found it to be pretty easy.

First, the more-or-less standard build:

Ranger/Necromancer

Vamp Bite
Vamp Touch
Plague Touch
Offering of Blood [Elite]
Throw Dirt
Whirling Def
<Lightning Ref><Zojoun's Haste><Antidote Signet><Signet of Agony><Distracting Shot>
Dodge

Armor: full Druids
Weapon1: Katana of Fortitude +5 EN from Shichiroji with added Fort mod*, Blood Knife from Nashu
Weapon2: Pronged Rod from Kiishen, Blood Knife from Jefri (Recharge Set)
Weapon3: Pronged Rod, Blood Knife (+EN set)
Weapon4: Longbow (any stats, any damage though as a ranger you'll likely have a decent one)

more on Weapon Sets on this page, more discussion here and also where to get the stuff. Another alternative is here.

*This is an expensive option if you don't have one lying around, as I did. There are a variety of other +5 EN weapons or wands that will serve, many of them cheaper. See linked equip discussions, above.

Atts:
16 Exp
12 Blood
5 pts remain.

Usage:
I'm just going to give a Hit List rather than going into detail about travel. www.guildwiki.org will tell you all you need to know about locations and drops. I'll post up some screenies of kill sites once I take some better ones, and will probably add to this list as I find new things I can kill solo. Enjoy!

PS: In general if I label something hard, I don't recommend killing it. It either takes a really long time, or it's sufficiently unpredictable that I have only done it a couple times. Medium difficulty bosses usually take me 10-15 minutes per kill, Easy is usually less than 5.

--Duo** Section--
Incetol Devout of Depths - (med) - (lennymon)
Lorelle Jade Cutter - (lennymon)

*Added since original post.
**Duo in this case means another touch ranger only. I'm going to limit targets by build.

EDIT: Monk and Rit bosses seem to present this build with difficulty. I haven't yet been successful with one, though I can usually burn through whatever guardians they have without much difficulty.

Looking over my hitlist, this build seems to do best vs Assassin bosses, then second best versus Warrior or Necro bosses. I have steered clear of Eles and Mes mostly.

NOTES:

-Removed Reefclaw since I'm having difficulty duplicating earlier kill. Will re-rate him when or if I'm succesful killing him again.

-Ghial will probably require some more tinkering, but as it stands it's pretty time-consuming.

-Strongroot totally doable. First kill Rit construct, keeping the Kurz shrine guards in reserve for SR's group. See below for tactics. Follow up by whittling SR's group down using hit and run tactics, using shrine if necess. SR himself is a joke. I killed him np with heavy DP. For a faster but less sure kill, help shrine guards against Rit Const's group, then pull SR's group to shrine but *don't* help - or not much. This is iffy b/c SR doesn't always win.

-Rit Construct takes forever when he has the wand unless you move him away from his spirits. Move him and he's a joke and goes out like a punk.

-In Rhea's Crater, when hunting Arius and Milthuran, a faster way may be to kill Milth, continue to next group of outcasts on the way to Talous, then die (Kurzick faction may be necessary). You will rez close to Arius's patrol path. The problem I have run into with Arius is that the Carp kill her before I can get there, making it very iffy.

-Most difficult fight that I have won: Assassin's Construct in Silent Surf. Very very hard, probably not repeatable.

-Visited Craw Stonereap. Pathetically easy boss, shiny new green staff. Good recommendation. Zarnas avenged Craw though. Wow, I sploded.

-Cleaned up formatting. Moved Xuekao back to Easy.

-Added Reefclaw again.

-Today in less than half an hour I soloed 5 bosses from this list and got two greens totalling around 40-50k in sale value. 1.5k per minute doing this is not too bad. =-)

-Added an Unrated section for bosses I haven't been able to get to yet. The person who first posted that boss as a target is listed next to the bosses in the Unrated section.

-Delic and Quansong moved. Pain Eater and Skill Eater added.

-Added Duo section.

-Added lennymon's 2x Blood HSR Collector Set.

-Added new target submissions to Unrated Category.

-Updated several of mistical miss' targets with ratings. Confirmed, thanks miss!

-Added evilsod's targets. Thanks for the submissions.

-Chkkr, Locust Lord is not a challenge if you bring 100g. Updated.

-Rated Whispering Ritual Lord Medium for time. VERY easy kill though.

-Made some additions, made some links. I'm up to page 9, going backwards.

-Look here for some drop data.

-Phew. Done with all that updating.

BRAIN FART!

This is the warrior section .

---*EDIT*---

Either a mod moved this, or it is I, who had the brain fart.

tried Xuekao, not very fast, he always spawns with a monk and necro that I find I have to kill first, then run away to let my skills recharge, before attacking him. Plus, sometimes after I strip away his entourage, he wonders over into a bunch of jade brotherhood and dies.

I haven't killed Xuekao in a few days b/c I got bored.

If there's a monk spawn then that's new to me, I never saw one in 20+ dagger runs.

some time ago you could pull Xuekao away from the other arm fah, and easy kill with a touch ranger.. But i belive they made even more Arm Fah spawn there so you cant aggro him alone.. making the run harder

Rajazan is the guy that drops the Energy sword correct?

So with that same build posted above you just run towards him? Because the boss's location is kinda on the other side of the map.

Any more info on this?

Very interesting build, thank you very much.

If you're referring to the Am Fah Marksmen -- 4 or so -- I killed them all repeatedly. This run might be med difficulty I guess with the additions.

EDIT: Realized I didn't answer the question:

Yes on EN swd.
Yes on running.

You have to cross the entire zone solo. Make sure the rez shrine will rez you if you fail (a matter of either an extra fight or of 50g). Be prepared to die a few times while you learn how to do it. Good luck.

ya, I'd rate it medium. It's not marksmen, he is spawning with a monk and necro everytime for me, as part of the same aggro group. I have to kill the monk and necro, dodge away, recharge, then come back and finish him, hoping that the jade brotherhood don't kill him while I'm gone. I've been pulling him down the ramp, and avoiding the marksmen entirely, but he has a tendency to then wonder away to the left, rather than back up the ramp and engage the Jade Brotherhood who pop up there. If he looks like he's going to die, I sometimes just charge in to the middle of them and try to make sure I get the last hit on him, so that it's not a wasted run. It's not really difficult, so much as time consuming, and unreliable. Still, I enjoy playing PvE with the bad touch.

Razorfin actually isnt that hard. Just lure the first group of enemies to the NPC shrine guards. Position yourself so the leviathan mouths from the second group cant hit you and finish the rockhides. After that move around so both Mouths stand next to each other and use throw dirt on them and kill them too. Next lure Razorfin and lure his entire group back to the place where you aggroed the first group but stay near the wall so they stack behind each other. Try to keep the scuttlefishes away (Sometimes you can block them with a wall so they cant enchant any of the other enemies with balthazars Aura, or heal them)... if you fail at this Balthazars aura is a nasty spell against you, but I sometimes bring strip enchantment to remove it. Good Luck.

You are absolutely correct, Razor is not hard, but I labeled him hard(er) b/c the above NPC manipulation, which I also do, takes time.

Another tactic that works -- let the Afflicted fight the Rockhides and Leviathan Mouths. I've been meaning to come back to this and explain more about tactics, but you did an excellent job on this one. :-)

Notes on killing Xuekao:

I just did this to see if I would still rate it easy.

My time of 7 minutes from zone in to dead Xuekao puts it in my medium difficulty category by time, but its still not hard.

I killed 3 Jades, killed 3 or 4 Am Fah, killed 1 Am Fah Healer, recharged, killed Xuekao.

I have been going after several Bosses that you havent added to your list, here are my findings so far:

Farmable:
- Lian, Dragons Petal - easy - No Plague Touch Needed, bring Touch of Agony

No Succes:
- Wing Three Blade - Can Kill everything except wing, not enough damage output. Duo Farm will work.
- Sun Quivering Blade - Can Kill all mobs before him. Am Fah Healer is Annoying.
- Shen, the Magistrate - Need to dodge the patrols but Shen deals 150+ damage with Word of Censure.
- Royen Beastkeeper - Too many enemies to keep up in healing with.

More to Follow...

Awesome. I'll check out Lian when I have the chance.

I tried Incetol and the Rit boss next to her (something of Vengeance) but wasn't able to overpower healing on either of them.

I just spent 5k to buy the skills and cap offering of blood. Did 2 liam runs and then 2 lou of the knives runs. Got daggers on both runs but nothing on liam. The only part I hate is how near the end your waiting to get your energy back up. Very nice build though, I just wish I could find something to keep up my energy better.

Just found out that a touch Ranger also can farm Craw stonereaper... (necro boss in kurzick Area... Dont have much time to explain more atm.. g2g.. But its fairly easy.. Think its in the Area called aborstone..

~Shadow

Note: He drops the curse staff called THe stonereaper..

Note too, run past the Wardens, if you get crippled, touch one of em untill cripple goes off, and then run on..
