I don't know if this has been answered, but sometimes on ym run through the mountains a blackness group reaches the gates to the plains before i do, rendering me unable to enter. Is there a way to circumnavigate these?

Thanks for any help

You can always outrun them with a speedboost

In that case you are way to close, they should be on the edge of your aggro radar.

I made my pure ele farmer 2 weeks ago and i have the desire to do this but before i waste my cash (which i know i will :P) on uw fees are there any places you can practice this? I'm talking about mindblades mainly.

And also is there a map of the route from the labyrinth spawn point to the Chaos Plains?

1. Try Perdition Rock or Titans. Both are good practice areas.
2. Check the first page

When tanking mindblades just make sure you use GoS before each OF and maintain SF and OF. Use GoS for only OF. OF is priority over SF, so if they run out and recharge about the same time cast OF first. You can pretty much practice the tank in noobish areas like, fire imps out side LA, they shouldnt even land a spell on you.

actually the best practice spot is the glacial stone farm with all the vaettirs. they're just about the same as the mindblades. if a nightmare pops on the run, just ignore it and keep running. there shouldn't be any that spawn once you reach the chaos planes.

Btw a tip for heroes at the start
I take an Nrt (Can be monk if you want), SF ele and then an Ineptitude/Clumsiness/Wandering eye mes. It does pretty decent damage by itself but also means any aatxes wont be much trouble.

I always use [i am unstoppable], it makes the run a lot easier in case you set off some traps or aggro some charged blacknesses. It takes some timing to kill the charged blacknesses later on in the Spawning Pools though since you can't keep it up all the time like [ward of stability]. A higher Norn rank helps, I'm only r5.

For the running part I both FDH and SDH, therefore if a nightmare pops I can cast either and run.

There is no way the charged blackness should be waiting for you if you run it properly, even without cupcakes. Perhaps if you get rended twice AND crippled twice. As others have said look closely at the video on page 2 or 3 or so of this thread it shows you everything you need to know in great detail. Even so I will explain as well as I can what you should be doing. Pay attention to whats moving on the minimap !! When you run over the bridge you should see 3-4 red dots moving up to the first obsidian behemoths at the start of the mountains. Stop in the little chamber there and remove balthazars, switch to you melee set and cast glyph (5air = 2 spells), Stoneflesh AND Flame djinn or storm djinn. Then run, don't worry the blackness will have run off before you get close. Also make sure no aataxe or grasps are going to be aggro'd. If a nightmare pops up just past the first obsidians (somewhat common) keep walking to the place you turn right which should be out of range of the first group of behemoths you ran past and either kill it (sometimes there are 2 there) or just recast your run skill (this is why you use the glyph) and get going. If no nightmare, you have the luxury of casting stoneflesh and your run skill here. Now it is easy to get to the little safe spot between the cliffs (see video for the correct route..its hard to describe but easy to see). Stop here and recast glyphed stoneflesh and your run skill and get going...never pause !! the only time you stop is to cast. Stoneflesh will run out just keep going and cast it and your run just before the last group and the entrance to the chaos plains. The blackness should be on your right side quite a ways away. Run to chaos and your done.

I am unstoppable helps, stormdjinn's helps as do essence or cupcakes of course. Actually with these you sometimes have to wait for the blackness to get out the way in the middle of the run. With a cupcake the only thing that should kill you is getting blocked by a bad spawn or a DN rending you just after you get crippled if its a really bad obsidian spawn.

Basically spend the plat to learn the route and don't stop. Initially this was the hardest thing to get down, now it's easy once you know where to run and how to run AROUND behemoths...only ever get as close as you need to, LOOK AHEAD and always pick the side with the largest gap even if it means running right AROUND the mob of them. You will avoid getting crippled which will slow you down even more.

Hmm sry its a little longer that I thought

It's definitely a great investment...

Here's some screen shots of some bad times.

Yes I use celerity and GoS, Gos is for MS mainly... With an essence I can finish main room, chaos plains (I skip smites, too annoying), and the first dryders in spawning pools at around 30-35 minutes~

If you're going with Essence, there's no need for Glyph of Swiftness. I'd suggest you replace it with Ward of Stability then go for Spawning Pools too

Well, they drop less stuff if they die at the same time. Let burning finish the job

With good ping, you can actually set off traps without being affected, just incase anybody ever needs to. Just thought Id throw it in there incase a situation arises where theres only a tiny gap to get through the behemoths.

Hows the ecto drop rate in the spawn pools and that other place?
