I know not everyone has an elementalist so heres a ranger variation that takes essence of celerity to work but it is most certainly worth it because of drops since the run there is easier as well. The norn skill also makes the charged blackness a complete non issue to your casting chain in the spawning pools since they cant knock you down.

10 FIRE
12 WILDERNESS SURVIVAL(HAT + SUPERIOR RUNE)
Max Norn Title makes you immune to knockdown/cripple with essence of celerity keeping the recharge down along with more armor for the mountain run.

This isn't anything all that new but I have played the role of a terra tank in uw clearing teams with this as well as this farm which is the main purpose. I also use heroes to clear the grasping darkness at the start.

Cool, never thought of that. You probably swap out GoS if u gonna use essence in that build.

You missed the point where he said he cant get GoS cause he have no EoTN... So he would have to buy essence from players and that would be even more expensive.

what's the avarage amount of ecto's on a chaos plains run? becouse i did it 3 times now and max i got was 2 ecto's..

It used to be 6-11 (for me)
The ecto droprate have been decreased alot lately though, probably because everyone can do it now.

no a b-day cupcake only helps with the run. celerity helps with cast time and recharge time. making it nearly impossible to forget to renew obs flesh. btw it costs 50 feathers and dust which kind of sucks but is worth it in my opinion.

It's worth it if you're the kind of guy that sells their ecto after every run. 10 ectos in one run=48k easy, so you have more than enough to buy more celerity. Only prob is some people save their ecto, whether it be for gloves, armor, or weps, and it'll b a lot harder to keep buying celerity every run.

that's a good point, and actually i'm farming ectos for a guildie who's working on FoW armor so i can usually afford a celerity after a run if i make it. the only thing that sucks is if you don't actually make it to the planes. there goes about 2k down the drain (including entrance fee)

i havent really seen a drop in ectos, 3 a run minimum is the usual for me, it obviously goes lower osmetimes but rarely. max ive ever gotten is 6.

Drops about the same for me as well. Unusual to get lower than 3 ecto from Plains. From Plains + Pools I have gotten 11 before

I dont know if its my armor or my skills or something, but I just cant seem to get past the beginning. The part with the graspings... If possible can i tag along with someone, I would just die at the beginning and you can have all my drops. I will even pay entrance fee.. The graspings are killed by hero's not you if your going to run an optimised build.

You MUST have a speed boost on when pulling graspings (cupcake, SDH, FDH) AND flag your hero's to a corner away from where you are pulling from. Every now and then an aataxe will follow if a Dying nightmare pops up, this is bad luck. If you have a monk hero with prot spirit you can survive if your good at micro, if not you likely blew your 1k. btw this is why I don't use the necro/rit hero they blow up to aataxe. I often survive if only one comes down as I micro who the monk prot spirits. I also try to get the aataxe and graspings aggro on me on the dias and then don't move. I use 2 SF hero's.

hmm... I didnt know we had to use heroes to kill the graspings... Although i think i will take you up on your offer of the tour since i really have no clue what im doing at this point and probably have wasted over 15k doing this.

Why do you have to use a melee weapon to run?

I'm guessing because what the BDR casts on you depends on what weapon you have?

You don't have to use heroes but it's easier and you can take better skills that will make Chaos Planes easier and faster.
