Default Farming Jade Weapons (Kappa Killer) E/Me

PLEASE READ
This build will NOT make you rich. It is only for farming jade weapons, monster claws, and anything else that Kappas drop. Mostly just for jade weapons if you wish to find one for yourself. I myself like jade swords so I made this.

HM: Yes, and recommended since there is a better chance of getting better stats on the weapons.

Rewards: Random Weapons, Jade weapons, Monster Claws (Semi-good price at mat trader), Ele tomes

Build with less then recommended equipment

Glyph of swiftness
Obsidian Flesh
Stoneflesh Aura
Mantra of Frost
Armor of earth
Aura of restoration (Not needed with recommended equipment set.)
Mark of Rodgort
Flame Burst

Fire MAgic 12
Earth magic 12+1+3
Inspiration magic 3
(Energy storage is not needed with Mantra)

EQUIPTMENT
Hydromancer Recommended but not needed.
Max armor IS needed.
Casting weapon such as a totem axe is NEEDED.
For an offhand, a shield is recommended, but not needed.

If using recommended, then you should be taking 0 damage and can switch aura of restoration for something else.

Start at Gyala hatchery and walk outside to Maishang Hills. You will be farming three groups at the right, and one to the left, and remapping. Fairly simple. Cast your glyph before Obby flesh ALWAYS and keep stoneflesh aura Constantly. With the armor you'll have its ok to miss obby flesh by a couple seconds, but I wouldn't push your luck. When not keeping up your enchantments, make sure the group of Kappa you attack is bunched up in a fairly small area so Mark of rodgort and Flame Burst can hit them all. The burning will be the main cause of damage, though the pure damage isn't bad, and Is used instead of silver armor because of their monster skill that greatly reduces damage taken. You will be taking around 0-2 damage depending on equipment so you'll be fine.

Flame Burst is because it is the fastest recharge PBAoE Fire damage. Lava font makes them run despite only taking 4 dmg from the spell.

Once again, this is not to become rich, It is to farm any weapons that drop from kappa, particularly Jade weapons in mace. I think they are snazzy

Build with equipment
Stoneflesh Aura
MAntra of frost
Armor of earth
Aura of restoration
Mark of rodgort
StarBurst
Flame Burst Or inferno

Same Attribute allocations.

Any more AoE spells will just make them run so it's not worth putting more dmg spells in. However spells like intensity or glyph of elemental power will still work fine. Just keep up Stoneflesh, Mantra, Armor, and aura of restoration. Then keep Mark of rodgort on them and spam Starburst and your 2nd PBAoE spell. I prefer Flame Burst because of the larger Area affected. This is faster due to only haveing a 12% speed decrease isntead of 50 from obby flesh, so its faster to group up kappa in a nice small area. Also, it deals more pure daamge. Even with their monster skill, they will still take around 40 damage depending on the dmg skill used.

Yup, good place to farm Kappas. Works good with A/E sliver and Vipers Defense, and something like LoD for extra damage. I added them into one of my videos, but I haven't really done enough runs to see what skins they drop. They have a monster skill that reduces alot of damage, thats why I take some good long degen. A/Me with Radiantion/Cry of Pain would be best to kill them. I also think my 330hp rt/mo build would be good against them, but I don't think I have that town with him. Looks like I will be working to get him there, sux you need 10k luxon faction.

Jade weaps (jade swords) are in a way rare and have gud skins........ u can make money out of this but not the most effective/fastest way.....

I would really lie to do this for the sword........gud skin.

i love this area as a 55 necro - i usually kill all the kappa, then wipe the Naga ranger boss. it's a nice, short, easy farm that can make some decent cash / golds.

One of these days Ill do /age and see how fast I can actually finish this doing one group at a time. I tend to get better (Or just MOAR) drops doing one group at a time since its an AoE kill which I kind of hate anyways. I know Necros can probably do it faster AND they can kill the naga, Perma Sins can prolly do it better AND nagas also, but, It's nice for eles to have a build.

I think Nagas also drop Jade weapons if I'm not mistaken, so, the Shadowform Silver armor is probably more effective.

BUT like I said, Nice easy build with no elite needed whatsoever.

Hmmm not sure that SF will work, due to the fact the rits have [Ancestors Rage] if im not mistaken, and that would hit thru shadow form (non targeted)

I haven't had a problem with Ancestors rage. I think they use it if 2 or more people are around them.

BUT There is a problem with the elite skill grasping was whatever that guys name is. Just don't stand close enough to the rt and you should be fine.

As long as you're running a Mesmer secondary, you might want to fit in Arcane Echo. I know there's a similar build that uses Arcane Echo with Searing Flames which is pretty fast (Searing Flames won't make them scatter, incidentally).

Also, Arcane Echo with Cry of Pain can be nasty. Something like this, maybe?

[build prof=E/Me earth=12+3+1 energy=9+1 inspiration=9][Ether Nightmare][Arcane Echo][Cry of Pain][Glyph of Renewal][Intensity][Stoneflesh Aura][Armor of Earth][Mantra of Frost][/build]

Theres only around 2 things I don't like about that build.

1) Requires rank.
2) I don't like to set up things by casting Arcane echo and glyph of renewal. Casting all enchants to keep them up is already a good amount of time spent on just survival. Mark of rodgort lasts 30 seconds, and you can keep spamming Star burst and flameburst killing them really fast. The PBAoE damage does more then I expected so the burning isn't the main point of damage. You can even stick fireball in there. If you don't spam all the attacks as soon as they recharge, the mobs won't run if using fireball also.

Im slightly sure they run from Cry of pain, not sure though. Can someone inform me of that?

However I haven't Tried it, so it may very well be faster. It may be more profitable. I have no clue. But I have no intention of getting Rank so if you could farm the 4 groups seperatly and post your average time, I will do mine, then we can see what happens.

I'm not crazy about the rank either, but there are some pretty worthwhile PvE skills out there, and since I use my Elementalist 90% of the time I've been working them up slowly. Incidentally, I don't have the Kurzick/Luxon skills either, so Ether Nightmare is an educated guess on my part, but it apparently works well in other builds based on Cry of Pain. Also, Cry of Pain does not scatter.

I did try out a couple of different builds and timed them, over the course of a single battle, i.e., from just before casting the first offensive spell (Mark of Rodgort or Mind Wrack) to the point when all Kappa were dead.

[build prof=E/Me earth=10+3+1 fire=12 inspiration=8 energy=3+1][Glyph of Elemental Power][Mark of Rodgort][Arcane Echo][Searing Flames][Liquid Flame][Stoneflesh Aura][Armor of Earth][Mantra of Frost][/build]
This one clocks in at about 26-27 seconds.

[build prof=E/Me earth=12+3+1 inspiration=10 energy=8+1][Mind Wrack][Arcane Echo][Cry of Pain][Glyph of Renewal][Radiation Field][Stoneflesh Aura][Armor of Earth][Mantra of Frost][/build]
Since I didn't have Ether Nightmare, I adjusted it a little. With max Asuran and Sunspear rank, this one still ran a hair slower, at about 27-28 seconds.

Finally, I really think you can fit Arcane Echo into your build profitably. You've got a few seconds of dead time here and there in which to cast freely, and the recharge on Star Burst, in particular, is a bit longer than I like to wait around. I ran this:

[build prof=E/Me earth=12+3+1 fire=12 inspiration=3][Mark of Rodgort][Arcane Echo][Star Burst][Flame Burst][No Skill][Stoneflesh Aura][Armor of Earth][Mantra of Frost][/build]
Use either Glyph of Elemental Power or Aura of Restoration in the empty slot. I found that as long as I echoed Star Burst and not Flame Burst, there was no problem with scattering, and it reduced the battle times by 5-10 seconds.

I farmed them in HM on my ele for ages, and the only time I got a gold jade sword was when farming the Woe Spreader for elite necro tomes on my assassin :P
