Default More UW 55 Necro IMAGE HEAVY

Before I begin with this I'd like to say sorry to a few people.I've been in Kamadan a few times lately giving away alot of stuff and told a few people that I'd return and give more stuff away,I unfortunately was not able to do this a couple times and feel like maybe I had left them hanging..sorry.Also Fuzzy Taco has been so patient with me but due to certain things happening last month I was unable to "be available" due to the death of my father last month..sorry Taco.Your patience and mature attitude has been noted and I'm very happy you haven't gotten upset with me putting things off..for that I am sorry. On a lighter note when my sister flew in last month I found out she is a Guild Wars fanatic!I'ts funny how things work out.Again I am sorry to anyone who was "waiting" on me in any aspect.

Solo UW:Obsidian Behemoths/Charged Blackness

This is for all those crazy 55 Necros who enjoy soloing UW and doing Smite runs. This guide will run you through most of the UW after your Smite run is complete. If you'll notice I screened this run in Normal Mode.I normally don't go solo in UW in HM,it really frustrates me sometimes and I do this for fun.Although I have run in HM.Its really just something to do.

So all you'll need is your typical setup for a 55,and your UW build.I run the old school KCP build when I do this.My build is very simple HB,PS,SS,Suffering,
Essence Bond,Balts and Mending.Honestly if you aren't comfortable soloing UW then I wouldnt attempt this.I would highly recommend bring a +1 Curses offhand to give you a little extra juice.

NOTE:this run will NOT make you rich, lots of gold though, and collecting Burrower jaws really adds up over time. This is for sport and fun.Very decent drops occur sometimes though.

The quick facts about doing this run:

1) You can not maintain enchantments, they must be dropped.
2) Walls are your friend.
3) Traps are abundant, don't immediately rush in for the loot!!
4) Charged Blackness , back to 55, it's the easiest way.
5) If you are impatient , you wont like this...theres alot to kill..and it takes time.

I'm not going to go in depth with the build and skills setup, there are posts detailing the spells, their uses and whatnot..I'm already assuming anyone checking this out has a basic understanding for solo UW...that said.

So here you are, all done your smite run...time to run back and rampage through some Behemoths..Youre going to see the first group all bunched up in a doorway.

All you need to do is drop your enchantments,(meaning Mending,Essence and Balts),swap to a +1 Curses offhand,I find Fondalzs works nice. The +30hp is a bonus. With the ranged attacks the Behemoths use , 135 hp coupled with Prot Spirit allow for a few hits to be taken relatively safely in case you need to pop out a little for a spell cast.

Walk up to the wall beside the group of Behemoths and select the nearest Behemoth.(with the use of Natures Renewal, your spells may take longer depending on if it is active so targeting the closest enemy allows you to constantly have SS running.)Cast SS and select the next closest Behemoth, cast Suffering if you want, and when SS recharges, cast
on that enemy,(if theres 3 in a group I'd suggest just toggle between the closest and second closest Behemoth.) Keep recasting and cycling and let the Behemoths do all the work.

The next three groups are easily handled,First position yourself at the corner of the wall for the next group and cycle through them, Second group requires you to run right up to the wall underneath them and cast from there,Third is to run just below this group to stay out of harms way and cast from below.

Next is the First group of Charged Blackness.Re-apply your enchants and swap your weapon set for your Cesta. They will cause knockdown,it's not that often, almost as much as Savage Slash, so its very managable..they don't rush and mob you,so try holding off on SS until you're sure you can get the area effect, really pretty easy.Kill em.

Drop your enchants, swap back to +1/+30 , now from facing the Charged Blackness, turn around and you'll see a mob of 3 or 4 more Behemoths.I've dropped a Staff to indicate where you'll want to run to in order to start casting.Theres Charged Blackness off to your right, just leave them, they'll come down in a sec.If this seems a little cramped then cast PS on you , it'll still do its job.

Next you'll want to head left and you'll see a gaggle of Behemoths.Target the middle mob and run directly under them, (make sure you keep an eye to the right, the Charged Blackness will make their way down to a certain point and stop.)You can take the rest of those Behemoths out if you want. The Charged Blackness are next.Swap back to Cesta and Enchants and run right into the Charged Blackness. You shouldnt have to worry about Natures Renewal,if by any chance it is active just wait until it runs out.(As a side note, you can actually only have Mending and Essence Bond active and still solo these guys.)..kill them.

Next is the bridged area..First group is easily managed by wall block. The group on the other side of the bridge is easy as well...just throw PS and HB up and run past them, theres a little hidey hole you can duck into and kill them from behind.

Next youre going to want to run past the next 2 mobs..shown in the screenshot..you can see you'll want to head left and run past the 2 groups of Behemoths and directly under the third is where you'll stop.Kill them. You can stop where I've shown in the screenshot and maybe depending on the spawn try and take that mob down, but otherwise just run underneath the small group ahead and kill them.

Next wall block the first group of Behemoths and kill them, standing where I'm positioned. The group after this you'll want to run past by applying PS and HB briefly and running up to the little nook I'm standing in.Kill them.

The next 2 are a rinse and repeat of the wall blocking technique..kill these two groups by avoiding the attacks and move onto the last gaggle of Behemoths/Charged Blackness.

These last groups are fairly easy, just use wall blocking to kill off the nearest Behemoths, (this allows you to clear and area to safely pull Charged Blackness away and out of Natures Renewals effect), put enchants back up and swap to the cesta and wand the Charged Blackness out..

The last to Behemoths left here are weird..that rather big group sitting in the open can be avoided and run past..as well as the one behind them in the doorway..run to the point I'm at in the screen shot and kill that last group of Behemoths.

You will now be able to jump on a Banished Dreamrider..and ride..to Valhalla!!

Lets buff this up a little,if you want to clear all this, might I suggest you try this..

Just send your heros,(pick any 3 you want I guess),into the nest of Aatxes at the very beginning and let them die.Solo everything you want and then return and rez them with a scroll..helpful vs Banished/Terrorwebs and whatnot...if you want to do this maybe bring a second set of armor,(I always carry 2 sets) with higher hp etc.

After you've done your ecto run,go ahead and pull the Aatxe out a little down this hall.Try not to aggro anything else,it makes it alot easier to take them all in groups.

If by chance you have a nightmare attached to a group of graspings, just throw HB on yourself and right when it rends you cast prot spirit and run back to the point I've indicated in the screen, nothing should follow you past here.Reapply your enchants and go back and kill the rest of the chamber, leaving the Terrorwebs.

Head down into the lower room and run towards the stairs shown here.

At the top of the stairs will be another couple of Aatxes, don't run up to far though, otherwise you trigger a group of 2 graspings and a Nightmare to start their patrol.

As you can see all you need to do is run across the bridge and let that patrol go by.As a heads up, there may be a buried Nightmare right where I'm standing in that screenshot.

So you can leave that first mob of Graspings there at the bridge if you want, you'll need to kill 2 more groups of 5,one right where I'm standing and the other is highlighted in front of me.

Next just start picking groups of Coldfires and Stalking Nights, mainly take them in groups of three, for the fact that you'll have maelstorm and shard storm on you and its a little bit of a hassle, watch patrols and pick them apart.Stalking Nights are Earth and do not cause alot of damage.

At the end of this you see a few Behemoths, sometimes a chest will spawn right there so in the screenshot I've shown where to run to ...theres basically a little indent in the wall there you can run into, drop your enchantments and swap to a +1 curses weapon if you brought one and single them out and kill them. You can go back and kill that first group of graspings now if you want..theres some chest spawns in this area sometimes.

HAVE FUN above all else!

i remember trying the behemoths back in the day and i rememebered they will stop attacking and cast healing springs after they take a certain amount of damage. Is that still true?

Thanks for all the nice responses guys!

Langdon: If you take a look at the 2nd screenshot I posted,The Behemoths will actually cast Healing Spring if you enter the aggro range,I havent cast anything yet in that screen but Healing Spring is still being activated,it doesn't last long and SS will keep them at a minimal HP gain.Healing Spring is what makes this run take that much longer and is why I recommend bring the +1 to curses offhand for the possible extra damage benefit.

Abedeus: I really don't think this would be effective as a Mo/N..you need high Curses attributes to take these guys down and because I don't solo with a monk , I'm not sure how much damage output you could generate..if you could do it , it would take a loooong time...as its already a fairly long run.

Dopefish: I'm wondering if the Heros would work well against Terrorwebs..I'm going to try and set Koss and Jora up as Terra Tanks,(they already are actually) and Dunks as a Extinguish/Healing Monk..I'm thinking if Koss was setup with Distracting and Savage Slash and Jora with a couple Shouts it may work well...unless anyone else has a proven effective way to this,I'll try this out later on.I have a decent build for Koss and he can tank a massive amount of damage.

You can kill the terrorwebs with your necro with one of your hero monk's set up to run spellbreaker. You can kill the mindblades as well, but expect to die cuz there's quite a bit of them. Try monk/mes so you can bring both visages along as well and essence bond the tank for unlimited energy.

The healing springs on the behemoths aren't bad if you get yourself a rhythm going. I just use the target next/previous buttons and cycle through them to interrupt healing springs since they like to chain them up. Whirling defense is a pain to hit through but once it's down they usually don't last long.

Gj on the guide, used to have a video soloing these things ages ago. Drop a lot of dyes as far as I recall.

Kcp: Thanks for posting,I kinda figured I'd need to run a monk hero with spellbreaker at some point..I'll set Dunkoro up as a Mo/Me and bring 2 tanks and see how effective that'll be...probably saved me a couple plat already.Just curious if you think it would be wise to set my monk up as an echo spellbreaker?

dubiel: thanks!...yes long live the D!!!

well, now that we're on to terrorwebs (ecto drop chance! must kill! ) let's see what we can use here. (i just don't like bringing heroes, to be honest... anything that takes my drops does not mix well with me! )in the pictured build, the only slot i can think of changing is the Orison slot, and attributes are relatively inflexible, so here're my guesses as to possibly useful skills:

[skill]Dismiss Condition[/skill] full heal AND removes burning, for only 5 energy.

[skill]Watchful Spirit[/skill] 2 more regen can make a difference. especially considering you have 7 degen, and the 5 regen mending, HB and WS leave you with is plenty for tanking. not to mention, vs. solo aatxes, Mending + WS is enough to tank, which is great for energy. also, 4 enchants is the threshold for an instant rend enchantments suicide on a Nightmare (in Normal Mode, anyway.)

[skill]Orison of Healing[/skill] it's pictured, it works. not my secondary heal of choice, but, at 5 energy, it's still energy efficient.

[skill]Vigorous Spirit[/skill] energy efficient, and a pretty good health gain if you autoattack.

anyone have any more ideas / opinions? besides of course the tried and true Spell Breaker bonder.
