Default Working Raptor Builds, post SF nerf?

Any ideas? The build is failing to work as it did before, so I'm open to all possibilities.

Thanks.

(looking for working Ele or Monk builds)

E/Me

Sliver armor, Armor of Earth, Magnetic Aura, Stoneflesh Aura, Glyph of Renewal, Channeling, Ether Feast, Mantra of Resolve

you can also use a Mesmer(Me/E)........Same bar but use Echo in replace of Gylph of Renewal

I farm both bars in HM, easy to do.

The mist form build on wiki works great too.

For rangers:

[build=OgYTk4FfHydQZgdAVQ4AukHKXEA]

Use a 20% enchanting something to give you more time on the running skill.

Cast Armor of Mist and Glyph of Sacrifice (1&2) in mouth of cave and run in and aggro all the raptors. Watch your Glyph carefully, when it starts to blink, go ahead and cast your Mist Form (3). You probably won't have made it far enough to aggro the boss mob, so go ahead and walk in and aggro the Broodmother. This was killing me because they would always interrupt sliver, so I added the dual blocking skills which seems to protect against any sort of interrupt (it happens extremely rarely). I assume that whirling defense and magnetic aura are cumulative because when I only use one of them I get interrupted A LOT. You can then hit the rest of your skill bar (Air of Superiority, Sliver Armor, and EBSOH) and recharge Mist as needed. They never seem to do any damage to me, so I just run all radiant and attunement. Be sure to hold aggro on the Broodmother or she will run away. Another trick you can do is that as soon as you talk to the Weapon Krewe Asuran is to run far to the right so you can see the red dots of the raptor nestlings on your radar (through the wall, before you go into the cave). You can then tab select the Broodmother beforehand so that you aren't fumbling around trying to click on her when you are doing the run. Failures are very rare. Causes of major failure: #1 Rubber banding running through cave (don't bump into anything), #2 Interrupted sliver (still happens, but very rarely), #3 Bad angorodon spawn (nothing you can do about that, rezone). Even if Air of Superiority doesn't give you a recharge, you will get a recharge for killing the Broodmother. Worst case, you will still get 25 kills and kill the boss.

Overall, I think the mist form is highly more predictable than this build:

[build=OgYSk4LToCbV3lAHoGwl8Q5i]

Notice I am only using one ranger skill and that is only to block enough to block interruptions. I'm sure many other professions can run versions of this build (Mental block does work if you cast it at the beginning and let the raptors nip at you to keep it recharged).

I prefer the latter, the only thing that kills you with either build is an interrupt, and with 34 raps on you they do get through from time to time. With WD they get round you more and you take the full gauntlet of interrupts, with escape they are always playing catchup so not many are beating on you as you throw you dirt. With most of them blind, your Sliver (the critical skill) will get off a lot more often. Also, with Escape, you have the option to runaround if you need to recharge the skills.

I've probably done thousands of runs with both builds. I think the new build is much less timing sensitive than the old one. It took me a LONG time to get the hang of when to throw the dirt so as to do exactly what you described (letting just enough mob you so that you blind them but not too many so they interrupt you). With the new one, you just wait until they are ALL right on top of you and then go for it. My interrupt rate is around one in 10. That's better than I did on the old one.

Here's a kind of crappy video of my run:

The main thing to note is how mist form is NOT cast at the cave entrance but rather just as the Glyph of Sacrifice is about to expire.

I guess its largely down to personal preference and how well you get the specifics of each timing, certainly both work well, I've done them both a lot too, but went back to the Escape version. I prefer having a speed buff so I can get out if the odd thing goes wrong and kite until skills are back. Also, when (as it usually does) things go right, the speed buff makes it faster by a few seconds running to the cave.
