Default IDS Farming Questions

Well after Have my Internet Explorer crash and me loose my whole post I guess I will type it all again.

So, I have been learning how to IDS (Icy Dragon Sword) farm with my Dervish and I can run there and kill the Imps fairly easy, but I need to know more about the items and the Misc. things so I willl make a list of questions.

The Build I use http://www.pvxwiki.com/wiki/Build/Mo_Silent_IDS_Solo

1) I have seen people saying that a BLUE IDS is what you are looking for and the others saying that a GOLD IDS is what you are looking for, I know that they will both have the same mods but which one is better to get and what will the prices be on them?

2) Sort of asking the same question as #1 How much will a Blue and/or GOLD IDS sell for nowadays?

3) This will probably seem like a dumb question to some of you, If I get a BLUE IDS drop can i add max mods like +30HP, 20/20, ETC. can I make that Blue IDS a GOLD IDS?

4) What is the drop rates here? Should I be getting about one IDS a run?

5)What is the Statue of Lyssa do? Some people say that it gives you benefits if you have favor, Do I need to kneel or just be near it?

Those are the questions that I remeber from my original post, so I hope that I can get some help from some people. If i didnt make some Questions or Comments understandable then leave a post and I will try to answer you as fast as I can. Thanks

4 things to say:

#1. There is no such thing as a blue FDS. Anymore anyways. They were changed to a gold drop so as not to be effected by loot scaling about a year or so ago.

#2. You can mod it. But only the pommel can be altered, the cold dmg is inherent.

#3. Really not worth your time farming these. The drop rate is quite low and these things aren't worth much anymore, ~10k clean.

#4. You kneel, the avatar will only appear when we have favor though. Which we have in abundance at this time.

IDS is now Gold by default. Used to be blue (with the same stats as the gold version), items dropped before this update where updated automatically, so no blue IDS still in the game.

Around 10-15k "clean", something more if upgraded with a pommel

Just a pommel. The icy hilt is inherent and cannot be swapped, as in the Fiery Dragon Sword.

Not quite. I've been there a lot of times and never dropped even a single one.

Exactly. You can get a +2 morale boost (100g each) and a blessing that gives you +3 health regeneration and +50 maximum health (50g).

Don't know if this helps with drop rate but I wanted one of these and solo farmed it on my sin - took 6 tries before I got one. So don't expect one every run by any means.

Everything the first two posters said is correct. Also, they seem to have a pretty low drop rate.

Also I don't know if Guru will think this is bumping and this thread will probably be closed. Can that build Kill the Ice Beast?? I need to get past him so i can get to the other groups of Imps.

The ice beast might be possible to kill, but I doubt that the Azure Shadows that spawn with it are doable.

I run it as an Ele with obsidian flesh and sliver armor, easy enough and got 3 from 5 runs so i wouldnt say the drops are too bad, hardest thing is getting there through the Avicara if they strip ench's!

I've run that on my derv too, though it's been a while, and I think maybe one of the skills was different.

I got two drops (kept one and gave one to a friend) shortly after I started farming them and I haven't done it since. lol. I don't remember exactly how many runs I did before I got a drop though, but you'll most likely have to do quite a few before getting any. At least you get junk to merch too, so not a total loss. And it's kinda fun once you get the hang of the run.
