Default Raptor Farming very bad drop rate.

Alright I have just gotten into Raptor farming and i have to say i make about 2-3 drops per run, so about 100-200g.

I'm running the D/A Farming build.

http://www.pvxwiki.com/wiki/Build:D/..._Raptor_Farmer

I went out with an Ele and when she farmed the Raptor she got alot of drops, Why are my drop rates so bad??

Is there any way i can make it better?

Well, you could solo to make your drop rates better.

But really, it's just luck on who gets what and when. You'll get drops, just keep working at it.

Well, I got lucky with 2 Ele swords in the last week or so (after 1year+ having started farming them), r10 and r13. Lots of unid'd golds, the tomes, the XP (i.e. skill points), a bit of money (not the most efficient but fairly simple). I honestly think it's the "gold farm" for casual gamers and Anet left it for this purpose (and for festival events).

I always wanted one And someone paid 10k for the r13, they've got a very cool skin IMHO. I forgot to mention the hundreds asura points for each run.

is there any way that i can make it to where SF never ends, like i keep recasting it?

I got 2 white dyes and 2 black dyes during the last event weekend, as well as 29 assassin tomes, countless golds (4 in one run was my record), and quite a bit of gold after a while.

I agree though, that they are best done during event weekends.

On Saturday morning I farmed the Raptors for about an hour off and on. For some reason sliver armor kept getting interrupted about 60-70% of the time, it was making me mad, but then all of a sudden I started getting sweet drops. In that hour I got 3 lockpicks and a number of golds. Then on one of my last runs the Broodmother dropped both a Passage Scroll to the Underworld and to Fissures of Woe. Since I have only recently started farming and have never gotten even 1 scroll I asked my guildies if it was common to get both scrolls at the same time, and they said no, so I was pretty happy that I got them.

Good luck with the farming and do not go crazy with it as it can get boring if you do it too much. Remember you are playing this game because you are supposed to be having fun. Just my 2 cents.

Don't farm too much , after a farming session do something else to "reset" the drops (at least what I heard). The drops are good at first , but the more you farm they lose quality.
Good luck and have fun

I think you're referring to the anti-farming code, which has been removed since the loot scaling system is in place if I'm not mistaken.

They said it was, but some people (myself included whenever I get crap drops - its always nice to have something to blame!) think there might be some leftover code.

Anyways, OP, your bad drop rates are probably because of just overall bad luck.

Raptor Farming is plenty profitable. Hard mode with an Ele running sliver, I consistently do about 90 seconds per run cycle. I also sat down and tracked about 25 runs and found that overall I was making a little less than 1k per run (selling all golds to wisdom seekers for 700g each, selling tomes, ele swords, and merching everything else). So, if I really sat down and farmed for an hour straight, that would be a conservative 30k an hour. Heck, during the holiday weekend, I farmed enough to buy an everlasting golem tonic.

QFT.

Get out the pitchforks, torches, and feathers and tar and hunt down that imaginary code!

D/A kills everything in the same time, E/A kills them 1 by 1, and that makes the different.

I have sort of the same problem as the OP. When I farm them with my Ele I still get a fair amount of good drops and a bunch of merch food.

However, when I do them with my ranger, I kill them the same way (sliver) but, I usually get maybe 2-6 drops total, and those are usually the Saurian bones.

Just seems odd that 2 different profs using the same killing method would get such a differing amount of drops.

Oh well just something I noticed.

Good to see that someone is finally using my build: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10270220 =P.

OT: Yeah, general drops are pretty crappy, the best time to do it is during festival drop weekends, like the Wintersday In July Weekend we had a couple weeks back. Otherwise, the only time I would suggest using it is perhaps if you need skill points on your derv; the experience gain is spectacularly good.

oh and about the difference between one shot one kill and kill em one by one

The only difference is that you end up with more crappy white junk (atleast that's how i've seen it times after time farming different place's with different builds)

So if you do get an unlucky string in the loot allocation code (which has been bugged since the release of loot scaling(was first introduced together with lootscaling)) you'll end up with more white stuff to sell.

The coding that decides whom get's which and what has been bugged for so long it's not funny anymore(party member X get's 95% of all the gold and green items, party member Y get's 5% of all the gold items and maybe a lucky green one, party members A,B,C get the blue and grapes, party member D get's the leftovers) That's how i've seen it alot of times by now(asuming where in an area without an endchest like a dungeon but even for that area the same idea implies)
