Default W/N Grenths/SF Solo farmer build

I finally decided to post this ;p
UPDATE: 9/24/06(Turn to page 23 for update)

Warrior/Necromancer Grenth/Sorrows Furnace plus a lot more.
This can be a difficult and frustrating build.
http://img211.imageshack.us/my.php?image=map6rs.jpg
Green dots=Common Boss Spawn locations
Red Line= Easiest way down

Attributes:
http://img158.imageshack.us/img158/9034/att1bk.jpg
10+1(Minor) Strenght
10+3(Superior)Swordsman
11+1(Minor)Tactics

Skills:

Healing Signet
Dolyak Signet
Grenths Balance{Elite}
Bonetties Defense
Riposte
Deadly Riposte
Final Thrust or Galrath
Interupt, Savage or Distracting Blow

New Set up: 9-?-07
Soldiers Defense
Lions comfort / Healing signet
Watch Yourself!
Grenths Balance{Elite}
Bonetties Defense
Riposte
Deadly Riposte
Final Thrust

If you don't like sword swing this way

Healing Signet
Dolyak Signet
Grenths Balance{Elite}
Bonetties Defense
Riposte
Deadly Riposte
Disrupting Chop
Executioners Strike
(If you don't get it simply switch to sword and activate the Ripostes)

Armor:
I recommend Glads Armor with Ascalon/knights mix
I use Glads Chest, Leggings, Gloves, Ascalon Helm, Dragon Boots.

Weapons/ Shield
UPDATE:::: An Icy Hilt will do more damage on Dwarves.
Long Bow(Pulling)
(recommended) 15-22 dmg+20%(hexed) dmg+20%(Vs, Dwarves) Dmg+20%(Customized)
Shield: 60/-3(Hexed) Shield Can be found out side Camp Rankor(Snake Dance side) for 5 Frosted Griffon wings. http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Hagnon_Warblade

Exit out War Camp Portal into Grenths Footprint. You have three options. One, Go back in the portal and do something else. Two, Aggro the First Group
And walk back up to the Dwarver Prospector. Three go in and Don't let the Dwarvern Prospector Heal you for free(I recommend #2 if your new to this).
[IMG][/IMG]

After you have clear out the First groups make you way down the Bowl to the Next group.

In order for Grenths Balance to work your heal MUST be lower than the target foes health unless you want to heal him. I recommend to get under 100 health and Cast it on the Gnashers First, 'cause of there life Sphon health regen. Take out the Carvers and Dolyaks(Knock down ones) first and then Rangers then Gnashers last. If there are Ice Golems in the group take them out first and the Ripostes should be enough for The carvers.(Note when healing after grenths Balance activate Bonetties Defense then use Healing signet to avoid Dirupting Chop)
Pull groups with your longbow.

When fighting groups with Mesmer, Rangers and Necros you will be suffering form Mega Degen(Crippling Anguish, Conjure Phantsm, Bleeding, Life Siphon) Use Grenths Balance on the Mesmer(Dolyak) and kill it first.

Bosses:
So farm I have been able to kill, Morgriff, Blugeoner, Gargash, Gorrel, err havn't tried Yakslapper(Mop constant Healing)

Sorrows Furnace:
I would Accept one of the SF quests before entering here because in the beggining there Taskmasters(Mesmers) use interupts to Interupt Healing sig, and you have the Dwarves Dwarvern battle Stance interupting each action everytime they hit you for 9 ( seconds). I would get Orozar and go.

Hopefully I can get more time to finish the Sorrows Furnace part of this thread. This build is Capable of soloing 95% of Grenths. So far I've been able to clear about 30-40% of SF maybe. but this is a fun fun build ;p.

The Build I'm using in the Screen is slower than the Build I posted(I got to lazy too go back in and change ;p)

Thanks to X of Thulcandra for testing it with me a while back.

Hope ya like it

OMG VIDEO~!
This is my first Video I have ever edited(sorry for a crappy job)
Sorrows Furnace- part1-Galen Trask Framer.
This movie will show the easiest way to Solo SF(And the groups ppl have been stuggling with in GF), you will be going up against a lot of Dredge. Simply Grab Galen Trask near the portal to Sorrows Furnace.
When you inside Sorrows Furnace make sure you go around and kill EVERY Enemy possible(This makes the quests easier)
So do not accept any quests before killing the Dredge before hand.
After Completing Galen Trasks quest talk to Taskamster Ironboot and these are the quests he will give you

Fire In The Hole Possible? No(Thinking about bring the ice Golems to it, but I know it can be done)
Cold One Possible? Yes
Gathering Resources Possible? Yes
Unruly SlavesPossible? Yes
Wrenches In The Gear Possible? Yes(Pick 'em out one by one)\

Fighting the Dredge Brutes make sure you have Bonetties Defense up so they won't interupt your healing signet, this is the only purpose for Bonetties defense)

Dredge Scout, they will lay down "Spike Trap" which will do about 10 dmg without Dolyak on, they also use Savage Shot but I think they only try to interupt your GB.

Dredge Shaman, Only interupt their Signet Of Devotion, and If you are facing just one Shaman and nothing else you can take off your armor so It'll kill you faster.

Fighting Furnace Guardian, make sure you have +7 vs. Elemental mod on your weapon, Make sure Dolyak and any other Defense bonus you have is activated.

Video Link: http://rapidshare.de/files/17855413/Warrior.WMV.html
It's about 26 MB? It's best to keep the Video in 200% (Better Quality one coming soon)

Enjoy, more videos on the way.

Bump, Anet added a "Order" command for henchemn which makes soloing Bosses in SF 1000X easier.

Grab the Orozar quest, run in and Kill the first group(was nearly impossible solo) now Click on the 'order" flag and leave your henchies here,

run to where the red arrow is pointing, kill that boss.

Click on the (x) under your radar, the henchies should follow run past the giant smasher thingies skip the Furnace Guardian run to where the boss usually spawns(Across the bridges) kill everything BUT the boss run away set a Flag point for your henchies(Make sure it's far enough away(in the grey)) Run back and kill the boss. Continue to do the rest of your typical Oro Farm run. Once your done killing the boss, run back outside to Grenths Footprint, kill the way to get to orozar run back in, Repeat.

__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ____________

Lorinars Pass

Better loot.

Well this was pretty funny...

Easier, but slower. Cast the Enchantments on you do HH then when that runs out do Bonetties defense TWICE then do HH again and flurry with Galrath and Final Thrust, Flurry and Repeat. The fun ends when you run into a Heretic...

Flurry
Galrath Slash
Final Thrust
Bonetties Defense
Healing Hands
Live Vicariously
Vigorous Spirit
Balths Spirit

11 Tactics
12 Healing
10(or 11) sword
1 Strenght

:::::::GRENTHS FOOTPRINT EASY BUILD:::::: BY Ghostun Nighteyes:::::not me)

First off I'd like to thank lambda the great, after reading his build it inspired me to try out my own variation. I found my build easier to carry out but i think it just comes down preferance of R or N second, I personally love Ranger

The build is still under tuning, especially with the attributes, but I'll be sure to update as my experimenting continues.

Attributes:

Swordmanship: 8 + 1 (minor)
Strength: 7 + 2 (helm + minor)
Tactics: 8 + 1 (minor)
Wilderness: 12

Other runes being absorption and vigor, superiors obviously best. (Still contemplating wether I want to use a major/sup rune, it'll be on Swordsmanship if i do.)

Skills:

Riposte
Deadly Riposte
Power Attack / Desperation Blow
Savage Slash / Desperation Blow
Troll Unguent
Melandru's Resilience (E)
Healing Signet
Doylak Signet

Weapons:

Long Bow/Flat Bow for pulling, stats on this arn't very important (IMO*).

2 Swords will work well here, if you have both even better. Both should be 15-22, req 9, with dwarfslaying (+20% is max), one with 15%^50% and the other 20% (when hexed). Customized of course.

This is because in some packs you'll notice you are not always fighting hexers, or if you have killed them in a mob then you can always switch for that extra damage.

The hilt mod slot isn't very important, just stay away from an elemental hilt. Furious might be good, unfortunately my selection of swords isn't very big as I'm normally a hammer warrior

Sheilds:

2 Sheilds work well here aswell, one is the one i found out from lambda's guide (kudos again) the +60hp and -3 damage while hexed, a collectors sheild just outside the north entrance of Camp rankor, I also bring with me the other collector sheild from the desert, the +45hp and -2 damage while stance, for when hexers are not around/dead. I will update with a link of details for that one once guildwiki is working again

(* I am trying to incorporate Apply Poison into the build, if i can do that successfully then it will simply be a standard bow with a poisonous string)

Armour:

At the moment I've just been using full wyvern with knights boots, I don't feel gladiator's is truelly essential with melandru's resilience in your line up, sure the extra energy max might be nice at the start of battle, but with melandru's resilience it's not uncommon to have energy regen +4 for majority of the battle, if not higher! (On that note that's why i have more energy based attack skills).

Grenth's Footprint:

Once you've stepped out the first two mobs can be lured up the cliff so you can get free healing from the Dwarven Prospector, not necessary but recommended while learning.

Priority of killing:

Carvers first, they use disrupting chop, can be a big annoyance, pretty standard killing though, keep hitting your ripostes and attacks, keep doylaks up as much as possible, watch for there disrupts in accordance with healing skills.
Herders second, not as annoying as carvers but they carry knockdowns so take them next.
Heretics next, they cast conjure phantasm, the only hex that gives enough degen to bypass melandru's resilience.
If there is more than one seige golem kill those first until only one is left
(leave one alive so they cast rust and deep freeze on you, great hexes that give you +3/+1 health/energy with no real effect to you, with doylak on your speed is impaired anyway, and you have troll uguent to use instead of heal signet if it's needed)
Rangers next, then gnashers last.
(Always kill the fiends as the get summoned, gnashers arn't target first because they have +3 regen from life syphon and consume too much time killing, better to kill last when they are no real threat anymore)

Miscellaneous:
Mobs with a Doylak master: Doylak master is your first target, use ripostes to injure warriors that attack you while unleashing as much damage onto the master as possible, he will primarily focus on healing the warriors, shouldn't be a problem to take down, if you can, savage slash his MoP and orisons (if you know his MoP is recharging). I havn't had the opportunity to try this method on the Yakslapper, but i doubt it'll work, bosses should be left till last in mobs.

High Priest Alkar, while practicing (or general use for that matter, if you know you can do it, why give yourself the tedious challenge over and over) you can pick up high priest alker if you head north east down the slope after the initial first two mobs, talk to him and he will follow and heal you, in addition to this he will not be targetted by enemies nor affect your drops in any way, after you have cleared your route to Sorrow's Furnace take him back and talk to him again to make him stay, then pick up Galen.

I havn't cleared much in SF like lambda but I will be writing what information I gather over time, already spent a long time writing and testing today

Thrown in some screenies for good measure, hopefully haven't missed anything ^^;
My IGN is Ghostun Nighteyes if you have any questions I havn't covered, or post here

So I should target the gnashers last... to give them time to summon an army of undead first? Sounds like a plan...And I really dont want to fight the rangers till almost last, cause I know that melandrus arrow will never hit me, over and over.

Lambda build's works - look at the pictures man then start posting stupid and unfonded comments
I am sure that this build was tested a lot before was posted here so i have no doubt about his functionality.
Very nice build and original (maybe) ideea.

You mean Grenth's Balance wasn't being used?

...*jaw drops*...

I assume you mean PvE, because it's just evil in PvP.

lol thx

Yes, Target Gnashers last, Bone fiends won't be doing much dmg to you with Dolyak on. The Rangers are nothing to worry about, just get the big problems down first. You can always GB the Bone Fiends.

Err, I forgot to post what happend after Gorrel,
[IMG][/IMG]
1 Health left I took my gloves off so I would have more health for a strong GB just for Gorrel.

The point is not to be fast. It's to pwn things by yourself. More drops for you, less for everyone else.
