would anyone mind updating me on how Mindflay Spectres work? Do they spawn at the same place Mindblades did before the patch? Do they come in waves of 3-6-9?

Thanks

Here's what's been working well for me:

[Glyph of Swiftness][Deadly Paradox][Shadow Form][Glyph of Lesser Energy][Fire Attunement][Fire Storm][Lava Font][Flame Djinn's Haste]

Bring 2 Dervishes:

[Avatar of Lyssa][Heart of Fury][Eremite's Attack][Victorious Sweep][Leech Signet][Power Drain][Faithful Intervention]

Also Bring a Sab Resto

At the beginning, flag your heroes behind where you spawn, grab the quest, then use FDH to pull the grasps back to the heros to kill them quickly. If you accidentally pull 1 aatxe, the heros can kill it with help, if you pull more than 1, shadow form up and do it the old way. The heroes are just there to get you to chaos plains faster. After the doors open, don't bother with any of the other grasps on the way, just FDH your way to the chaos plains. Let SF run out when you get there to prevent scatter (I also use a vamp weapon in between fights to keep my health down) and do it pretty much as normal.

As for the dervishes, thanks to whoever posted them a few months ago in the Elementalist 4-part Farm, I didn't make those myself.

Another option for those not happy with Djinn's Haste and want to kill the Atts (and maybe complete the Clear the Chamber quest): [Viper's [email protected]]

I've used this myself with the old build; poison coupled with the burning takes the Aats down quite fast; it's useless on the Plains (apart from Dryders) but it has the advantage that if you get wall-blocked in the first chamber you can Step out of the mob. Could also be handy in the Bone Pits.

Lava Font can still be used btw, still do around 80 damage a usage with 12 fire. Gaze is really not needed, you can manage ur energy just fine without it.

Got 3 ectos in my first run. Seems they still better farming than smites... can still easily farm a stack, just take twice as long.

What about viper's defense or radiation field? would it be worth bringing in the last slot?

Vipers or radiation (with high Asuran rank) might let you kill aatxes

Just tried it out, had to run it twice to get used to the casting order and such (almost went in with points in Air instead of Water, oops ) . Bagged a single ecto, white dye and a gold battlepick. Obligatory merchfood. Still outweighs the 1k entry price. Was annoyed it got nerfed since I'd just gotten to 80 odd ecto (Casual Farming like) and was so close to obsy armour. Now it'll just take a little longer than expected, s'all.

Kudos to the rapid fix circa the OP

e: birthday cupcakes make it a little quicker to run if you have them spare, can get the run time down quite quick with the excess energy and speed buff.

Nice build, no scatter. The effectiveness of the farm has been cut by like half but its still better then smites.

OP, why not replace [frigid armor] with [Shadow Refuge]?

less attribute point spread and out regens the burning condition.

Edit: forget the energy part. My bad ><

You want to maintain under 100 health. Shadow Refuge would put you above that

Only if you're throwing Lava Font or any kind of attack skill in, else they dont run away since its degen (so it seems), otherwise Shadow Refuge isn't too bad an idea.

Its actually not 100 health its 1/4 health, 100 just happens to be what you have with your particular rune setup. Also you don't need to be under 1/4 health because they don't run from degen.

Not really sure how you can say "costs less energy"

Assuming a +20% ench mod, 8 Water Magic, Frigid Armor costs 5 energy and lasts 21.6 secs. In that amount of time you would have to cast Shadow Refuge 3 times, costing 15 energy to offset burning, and there would be coverage gaps due to 5 sec duration and 8 sec recharge.

It's worth trying, it might be that with good micro it's manageable. It does provide the nice benefit of allowing for 12 points in Fire Magic though.

I don't have an assassin and I don't need help farming Chaos Plains post-patch, I'd just like to know how Mindflay Spectre spawns work
