Hi there,
i was really bored today and decided to do smth with my Warrior again.
So I worked on racthoh's nerfed build and combined it with the lovely new ward

Equipment:
Full Gladiators Armor
Any Earth 1h Staff
-2 dmg, 45 Dmg while in stance/enchanted shield

Killing Bladed Aatxes:
Step 1: Cast the ward and Earth Armor
Step 2: Lure 1-2 Aatxes and use Gladiator-Stance
Step 3: Always change Targets while attacking to keep all weakened
Step 4: Keep up the stances when fighting against two Aatxes
Step 5: Always switch to your sword, stop attacking and use the Ripostes to Dmg them without suffering from their ripostes
Step 6: Use Bonettis for your energy

I don't think Armor of Earth and Watch Yourself! will stack anymore. I think Watch Yourself! is doing nothing, as Armor of Earth gets you past +25 armor, and adds more than Watch Yourself!

well i know it doesn't stack anymore it's just for soldiers stance while fighting 2.
I also use it when fighting against 1 aatxe and don't use Armor of Earth do have more energy for the riposte.
But you could try with another stance and both ripostes.

is ward of weakness necessary and what stats do you prefer for the earth wand? if ward of weakness is necessary can we substitute it for something else? is it just for killing dying nightmares?

to avoid aatxes risposte, bring a spear. switch to your sword when deadly risposte is nearly recharged.

Wasn't someone saying higher up that this doesn't work any more due to the armour-skill nerf?

You need the ward for the aatxe, not the nightmares. And yes, it is necessary. Long ago you could bodyblock enemies and tackle the aatxe one on one, tanking them with weakness (going /n for enfeeble) + Dolyak Signet + Watch Yourself. When that was changed for whatever reason (let's make AoE insane by allowing enemies to stand on one another ) you didn't have enough defense to deal with two aatxe at a time. The build evolved into using Armour of Earth + Dolyak Signet + Watch Yourself! and allowed you to barely take on two at once.

Then came the armour cap which seemed to be the final nail in the coffin.

Weakness + Armour of Earth's large bonus will give you the necessary defense to tank two again. However, it won't be enough to deal with dryders and smites are going to be a little slower without Dolyak Signet. In any case, it's a nice find and good to see that the aatxe can still be slain.

Very nice work, thank you.

However, I think there is a confusion of skill names in the original post:
Quote:
Skills:
Gladiotor-Stance
Soldier's Stance
.....
Gladiator's "Stance" doesn't exist, so it ought to be Gladiator's Defense. As now we'd have two elites in the build, I take it the second stance is Soldier's Defense?

The build was originally posted two days ago, which means it is posterior to the armour-skill nerf. If you read on you will see that the OP already replied to this: WY (a shout) is not required for its armour boost but simply for triggering the blocking effect of Soldier's Defense.

Thanks for the build it looks interesting and I will be trying it out when my computer gets back up and running , does anyone know of a collectors +1 tactics helmet with max AL? if so I would like to know were to find them as I don't really want to craft a helm from droknars forge when I can get it a little cheaper

maybe do it with an elemental weapon mod and just use cyclone axe to condition them all then switch to sword for the riposte?
and Dwarven Stability can extend the glad defense a great deal.

bad idea ^^
the aatxes use riposte and deadly riposte which will deal a lot of dmg to you with a melee weapon. but using an AoE with a melee weapon will kill you instantly

he wands them to get them weakened and switches to his sword to use the Rips and while the sword is equiped he does not attack to avoid their Rips but still trigger yours

how long does this take though, doesnt sound fast, might be fun to try though
