That's an opinion. I think splinter weapon channeling build and this vwk are both equal in safety. Why? both use stances with 75% to miss.

True, you have watch yourself to reduce hits which come trough this. BUT you have to survive 9 secs in the downtime of vwk. I think you're maybe better off kililng the smites while you are still in a stance (glads).
Taking hits for 9 sec with 20 armor or taking hits for 3 sec with 20 less armor doesn't make a big difference.

Hell, its even better to take hits for only 3 secs than taking 66% more hits without a 66% damage reduction...

If you find its hard to use the splinter weapon build, that might be a reason to try this. The timing and stuff of the channeling build are indeed a little harder than the average farming build, but like always when you show some effort and skill you will be rewarded, in this case with the rt/w channeling build.

I have to agree with you about the drop rates, but with vwk they are still roughly dropping at the same moment (a vengefull weapon more or less won't really change that). A white weapon more or less in a group or a shorter run is what you have to consider now...I know what I will choose though.
I'm going to UW for the ecto's, so I use faster (but sometimes harder) builds rather than 'safer' builds to pick up 4 more white weapons...

Update: Added new video for the updated build. Just to show people that it is actually pretty safe and fairly quick, and definatley a step up from W/Rt.

Ummm not sure, it will have to be somewheres with melee damage only, and with enemies that don't do much damage. You could try Jade Brotherhood Knights outside Marketplace, but I think they do too much damage...try it out i guess

I am having a really hard time with the "Run" part. I don't understand these instructions:

*Wait on top of steps to the left side of chamber, and make sure the Blade Aatxes that are patroling in and out of the narrow gateway to the right, around the wall.
*As Soon as you see the Aatxes run out of the passage way, hit Sprint to run by the first group of Aatxes that are on top of the steps. Be sure not to aggro the Aatxe that patrols the second set of steps, as he might get you killed. Use Enraging Charge if needed.

I watched the Youtube vid and I still don't get it. I've attempted about 20 times and only made it past them twice. Dunno how I did it.

Whoops, yeah that is supposed to be the "right" set of steps. There is a passage way there where you see a group of 2 aatxes patrolling in and out of, that is the way you need to go. But you also need to run past the first group of aatxes while gettin there, so you need to shake them off first by running into that passageway... make sure you don't attempt to run into that "passageway" where the gate opened until you see that one group of aatxes patrol in, then out of the way, this will give you time to run through there safely without getting hit or stuck. Once you see them patrol out, just hit sprint and run past the first group and into the open gate, and make sure to not hug the wall while running past Aatxes, it tends to get you killed by getting stuck. Always run around them in the safest way. Stand there until you see a the group of Graspings patrol towards you, then out to the little hill there, once you see this, wait until they are out of aggro range, walk up as far as you can without aggro'n anything, then hit Sprint and run by the aatxes, and around to the left of the wall... if you use 2 run buffs, you should be all good to go and no need to stop running at this point. Just keep running until you see another set of steps where there is another group of aaxtes walking around, run past them and shake them off. At this point you will be at the Ice Waste and will see your first group of Smites.

Also, if you have a Warrior, I would recommend learning to farm Smites with W/Rt VwK build as it is by far the easiest and safest to solo Smites.
