Default Q about farming proffesion

Well I am undecided about which proffesion to make to farm with and so I got a few questions I would like to ask and what people think about it.

1. I have a lvl 20 assassin who is around half way through Cantha who I thought would be great to make my character to farm on since I could use A/E build which I have heard is very good. I also have heard about N/Mo and 55hp N/Mo and how good it is with SV or SS. Now I am not really new to the game (played about a year) but I am quite new to farming. On my other accounts I just did PVE and didn't really farm, but now I want to do it and just not sure which is better/easier. Also, I am not sure if there is even ANOTHER proffesion which is better for someone who is more newer to farming.

2. If I wanted to make a Perma-Sin build or 55hp Necro, how much would it cost for weapons and runes for armor?

Thanks in advance to all who help

After having all (or almost) any profession that farms, i can tell you: both and depends on you.

1) Profession is just a personal preference, as I (for example) try to farm with my pve chars, just having another set of equipment & armor on them (you could buy it with the pve rewards through gameplay).

The stupid part (now) is the -33% damage when using shadowform that makes you less powerful than you should (i still think that its not fair for e/a), so A/E should make crap damage unless you get a lot of foes hitting you when using sliver armor. E/a will be stronger but you lack of perma-fs without consumables and so. It's still great if you want to farm raptor or vaettirs.

55'ers are great for damage places and even for high degen zones, where a a/e or e/A coudl fail. Using protection prayers or mystic regeneration. But is a bit harder than perma-fs to newbies on farming.

W/rit, rit/w rit/mo are options too and they dont need so much equipment apart from Vengeful Was Kanhei elite.
......

It depends on you, really. just check the builds sticky and decide if you like one profession or another. If you only wanna "cash" you could use a ele that can be e/a or e/me and farm raptors/vaettirs so you could even max asuran and norn rank. But a mo55 could be 600hp too wich can even vanquish zones..... Again, check above.

2) Apart from anything, a a/e will cost you about 3k for the rune if you pick max rune and the trader has units. After that, about 1k for the energy runes and insignia for each part (that makes about 3+ 600g + 5k, so 8'6k).

55hp nec will be different based on the price of grim cesta (2,5k -4k) and your other hand equipment (maybe totem axe, 4k). depends too on the max runes you bought, but about 700g min each part. Maybe 3+4+ X gold rune + 2'8k = 9'8k+ Max rune price.

Maybe they are cheap now, maybe, i dont check prices now :P.

One think always say: new farming equipment does cost (a lot of) money until you get some beneficts, unless you farm level 1 foes :P.

IMO i wouldnt have 1 chr just for farming id have 3
Sin - can both run and farm even with 33% reduction or even a/d solo farmer
Necro - either as 55 n/mo or as minion support etc or as ss for uw etc
And yes it would be monk as already mentioned - 55 monk or both builds for 600/smite so you have a wide choice of farming.

Cost wise it all depends - i have 1 set of armor for eg ... sin and gunners hold quest for farming the punchout , another set for sf and another for a/d and 3 sets for monk.
Id say start 1 chr and use that to get the funds for other farmer chrs` armor & runes then work across.
Yes the other professions can also farm but at a guess sin/necro/monks are probably more widely used now.

Thinking you could start with your sin and get a running build setup as that can also give immediate income from runs - la to toa , la to sanctum cay , la to ascalon and numerous other places ... all places my sins been has been self run - even droks.

IAS = Increased Attack Speed I do believe you mean IMS.

IMS=Increased Movement Speed.

As for Droks its pretty easy Anti-KD = "I Am Unstopable", IMS= Drunken Master, or any of the class specific IMS. Hex blocking or removing = Vow of Silence, Shadow From, Spell Breaker, Holy Veil.

55ing is ok but SFing can do many more areas and other things like running, 55ing is limited by the amount of mobs where as the perma isnt.

Gear for a perma sin is not too expensive. I recommend having a main weapon set with a high energy weapon set to switch to in emergencies and a second set of armor with radiants and attunements is not always necessary but definately helps.

55's are somewhat limited in what they can farm compared to using sf but if that's the way you want to go a set of necro sup runes will certainly be cheaper than monk runes.

Of course every farming build is generally set up to do specific areas and different equipment or builds are most often required for each area you go to. Setting up the basic armor, equipment, etc. can cost anywhere from 10k and up depending on what profession and any skills you may need to purchase tomes for or buy from a trainer.

If you are just looking for a general farming character however you might want to consider an ele. You may need to invest into more sets of armor and a few more weapons for all the possible builds but you can do most any profitable farm that any other profession can do with either a E/A variant, a 55 or 330 ele, Perma mist form, E/Rt VWK, or terra tank.

Why spend more time getting another character up and running, armored, armed, and skilled out?

If you have your Sin, use your Sin.

If you absolutely HAVE to have a Monk or a Necro for farming, start one up, and play them little by little while not working on/farming with your Assassin, just to break up the repetitive grind.

Learn to think outside of the box. Farm things that no one else farms, or just farm period. Every area, every boss, every drop. Find out what your Sin can and cannot do. Test your limits, push your limits, and above all, enjoy it while you do it.

Farming is great when you want cash. But if you have nothing to do with that cash, what's the point? Figure out your goals, and if that means you have to farm to reach your goals, then farm. If not, enjoy GW. It's a game. Play. Have fun. End of story.
