Lol @ people who think this will get nerfed.

Let's face it, ANet could care less about the price of rare items. They've killed the price of a lot of weapons (sephis axes, dead bows, runic blades, stygian reavers, colossal scimitars, list goes on). What makes this any different?

Yeah, it does take a bit of finesse but if you are able to break aggro form the first mob, let SF recharge, then reapply. Use your speed boosts and in general, just try to avoid the modniir altogether. One tip I could give is that if you have high dwarven rank and a few drinks laying around, you san switch out your two speedbuffs and use [drunken master] for a longer lasting speedbuff.

Tru that Anet doesnt give a care about the rare item market. But this is a run similar to HoS, which got nerfed. Its a 50/50 on nerfing this. Personally I like to see voltaics and wat else go down in price.

anet looks to attract the casual player, that is their market goal, expensive stuff = grind for money to buy it, which = not casual, although this doesn't go well with the more hardcore players like myself, it's something inevitable, and yah just gotta deal with it.

If it isn't anet nerfing the price of an item it's the players... e.i. the first week of eotn, glints challenge, solo ele, 250 an hour, sold at 1kea destroyer core

two weeks later, someone posts the solo ele build, price, nerfed, done.

difference is, this actually a valid play tactic, tank, pull to a point they can't get past, spank, it's been around forever, whereas the HoS run required no tactic and no skillset, it only required [drunken master] and beer.

Interesting Idea, never really thought of this. Used to this dungeon on my heros and I as Ursan Tank and would get dual drops. Once me and guildie did it together than from Stromweaver chest drops a r11 Voltiac Spear for me along time ago. So this just speedway of getting the VS now. Like people said this farm will greatly reduce price of VS to like Colossal Scimitar. So it all good always wanted to get rarest spear in game for my casters and for my Sin. Nice idea. Should of thought of this along time ago but give credit to you. You thought of it first before I did.

been having some problems getting thommis to pull to or near the wall so he can be aoe spiked. It seems to take quite a long time to get him to come and occasionally he wont come at all, any suggestions? btw we are doing our runs in hm and he isnt running off once arrgoed he just doesnt seem to aggro very well

Don't think anyone's said this yet, but it IS possible to Hero/Hench this farm if you don't want to join a PUG or don't have another account, though I'm sure it's slower than with 6 heroes or a PUG. I've successfully done so in NM, and once I get "I am Unstoppable" for my assassin I'll try in HM.

If people want the builds I can post them later (once I'm done typing up a syllabus), but it's basically Perma SF player, Ele nuker heroes, and Mhenlo, Lina, Eve, and Cynn.

*EDIT* The builds, if people care.

Player: Perma SF. I used a Perma-daggers build to help boost the damage output, just don’t attack the Dervish Stone Summit dwarves or Rending Aura will strip your SF.

Hero 1: Fire 12, ES 11, BM 6 [build prof=E/R pve][Fire Attunement][glowing gaze][searing flames][searing heat][meteor shower][glyph of lesser energy][predatory season][edge of extinction][/build]
Hero 2: Fire 12, ES 11, WS 6 [build prof=E/R pve][Fire Attunement][Aura of restoration][glowing gaze][searing flames][searing heat][meteor shower][glyph of lesser energy][frozen soil][/build]
Hero 3: Fire 12, ES 12. Unyielding Aura is a backup just in case you die on the run (drop it if you don’t need it)[build prof=E/Mo pve][Fire Attunement][Aura of restoration][glowing gaze][teinais heat][searing heat][meteor shower][glyph of lesser energy][unyielding aura][/build]
Take along Mhenlo and Lina (for healing party/you), Cynn (for more offense), and Eve (for Blood Ritual)

Feel free to change the nukers’ skills if you have better ones, I just used what I had available.

Ive been using Dwarven Stability and Dash for the running. It also helps for breaking aggro from the Modnir but it still gets pretty dodgy (well in HM it does).

Got home from my birthday party today and went on a run with some guildies and 2 alliance mates. First run crap, second run more of the same, third run alliance mate gets an r9 voltaic, 4th run same guy gets a second r9 voltaic. To be honest I was crushed

Let me say that the drop rate is very lwo and that theres many bluff in these forums

i did 80 runs
since the first day this started

80x8=640 items

and no voltaic.. for anyone in my party..

So or the next 20 runs give me 2 voltaics so that by logique 2% be more a less correct or the rate is lower..

Like i said theres many bluff guis.. they drop but not that many..

edit: no i didnt charged and i continue poor xP

did 6 runs with 6+2h and there were 35 pieces of junk from the chest. Someone got a q9 amethyst aegis though.

I did this Slavers, normal team, well over 100 times all 4 bosses (4 chests), and Duncan (5 chests), and have seen only a handful of voltaics drop. The rate is very very low.

I am a bit sad to see all the farming going on, not that I am not doing it now, but I am somehow sad by it.

SS, SV or just both really. SV for taking down Thommis faster, SS for taking down the mobs faster.

Just a FYI...

Some of you will know by now that after you have done thommis with some careful aggro control you can do the rand stormweaver part too (within 1 hour) It takes me about 45 minutes to do both with 3 ele heroes + 2 hench ele's and mhenlo but i have only tried this in normal mode, not hard...
