I always bring a Galigord's stone staff for the grasping's. You can easily kill them with your staff after the SS>eq>AS>AS, so there is no need to cast EQ>AS again. If thinks go wrong and you are dazed, killing them with your staff is a slow, but effective way to deal with them.

i need ascension to go on UW, my ELE is a prophecies char but I've been playing more with him on NF chapter which i'm almost finishing, my doubt is.. can i be ascended via Nightfall being a original prophecies character?

Nope, you have to ascend in either Factions or Prophecies. It's easier in Factions though.

If you have nearly beaten NF you're ascended. You're ascended in nightfall when you have beaten the Hunted! PQ.

Wrong. Only NF characters can ascend in Nightfall. Prophecies or Factions characters have to become either Ascended (Augury Rock in Prophecies) or Weh no Su (finish Nahpui quarter in Factions).

Did they tweak it? The last 5-10 times I've done it, I couldn't break aggro with a certain Aatxe, even with the 33% speed buff.

i sometimes play it on my mesmer because i don't have an ele xD
actually i just had an idea for e/r which could clear every group in one shot 100%

You'd probably need a visage in place of GoC because the spirit will die from zealot's fire. But this does soumnd very interesting. I'll try it now.

Hmm stonestriker+stormchaster is a good replacement for mantra+ss, and also a running skills

. But I don't think EoE can make up for having no AV,so smites might cast a quick RoF. If that happens you do AND 0 dmg AND they get healed. Also I doubt if the damage from EoE is bigger than the damage you do with 1 sec sandstorm/earthquake, which is not blocked by RoF (because you have AV).

Tho if you try it tell us if it was any good, cause it might ofcourse work

well i guess it is possible without av because actually the ele/monk build plays without it too :P
But i can't test it because i don't have an ele

eoe would do around 150-250 dmg if you lure 2 groups of smiters.
I just thought about eoe for the case that 2-3 smiters are able to run away (i've seen a lot smiters getting away in videos ^^).

Using Storm Chaser as your run skill is going to suck. That huge cooldown could really screw you over if you're caught in a pinch with a bull breathing down your neck. Will it last long enough to run past the final group of mobs right before you reach the smites? I would think that would be the most critical part...everything else should be gravy-especially since the DM's can't strip off your run skill.

Has anybody else noticed an increase in DM's? Perhaps I was unlucky but I was showing StueyG this build two nights ago and it was a DM nightmare. I've had bad spawns but this was just rediculous. In the first chamber alone I popped 6 DM's (no lie) on one run. I've never had this problem when doing solo runs, but perhaps having the 2nd person in my group increased the number of DM's? Perhaps it was just bad luck but it was like 5 bad spawns in a row. Also I had two runs end sour because somehow I aggroed a DM even though he was nowhere near my aggro bubble. I mean neither the DM nor the group he was attached to was anywhere near my aggro bubble.

But then again crap like this always happens to me when I demo anything. There's nothing like demoing a build for somebody only to look like a nublet. Poor Stuey....he was like "damn dude if you are having this many problems imagine how bad I'm going to suck at it!". LOL

Lastly-if you guys pop a DM in the smite area what is your gameplan? I've had a few sticky situations when I've had like 20+ smites aggroed and popped a DM. Normally I just hit my haste and run away. If you have that many aggroed can you get away with just recasting your armor enchants? With big aggros it doesn't seem like you would have enough time...

First I look to see how much SF has recharged, if its fully recharged Ill let the DNM Strip me, recast SF then wand him to death. If SF is still recharging I just hit SDH & run away, come back pull the DNM with a longbow, wand it & continue. When grouping multiple groups of Smites, I try not to let the smites get too close to me so that if I do have to let a DNM strip me I have a little bit of time before they get to me to recast SF.
