Your better off with 8 seconds at the very least. A 20% enchantments mod will give you an extra 1.4s at 7seconds, which rounds down to 8 seconds, whereas at 8 seconds it would give 1.6s and round up to 10 seconds.

Only thing is that glyph of concentration:[skill]Glyph of concentration[/skill] doesn't drain the energy of the smites, thus making them heal them self. Thus making them harder to kill

well been thinking, couldn't you drop mantra of earth for AV/SV?
i dont know if they do damage if you dont have the mantra on, just a suggestion(also dont know if this was posted before)

Mantra of earth isn't here for the damage reduction, only for the energy management. With only stoneflesh on, you take 0 damage from graspings+smites. Like evilsod said earlier, channeling might be the only replacement for it.

but even channeling wont really help, against 5 smites thats only 5 energy per cast, not exactly swimming in energy like you do with MoE

Harder ? No, not really. Most of them will die anyway, there could be 1 or 2 survivors, but again, aftershock quickly dispatch them. This is the build I currently use, simply because makes the exiting from the first room easier and safer

dudes i keep getting this problem where i lure the grasping darkness i use tab and find out only 2/3 or 3/4 have use distracting and then when i use av i get interupted and then i die... anyone else having same problem and how can i avoid it and if it happens how can i get around it?

Since the update, I use Glyph of Concentration and never looked back. Either SV/AV doesn't last long enough for you to get in position or it gets interrupted. And the energy drain on the smites never really mattered anyway since they'd just run away and regain their health/energy.

I think you are doing something wrong then...You just have to make sure that all of their interrupts are out of the way. You can visually remember who has used up their Distracting blows. Once they are done, throw on SV or AV and do your combo. As for smites, unless your earth isnt on 16, you can kill them with one combo. As they run, the SS AoE will kill them.

Correct me if im wrong, but GoC can also be interrupted, just as easily.

Its a 1 sec cast just like SV/AV. Whats the diff?

I havent tried the E/Me version before, but I guess it is because you can cast GoC before you aggro the grasps - and yea I know you can do that with SV/AV too, but
1) SV/AV doesnt last as long as GoC
2) You don't need to wait for SV/AV to take effect, normally youll have to wait a few secs before their energy is empty.
3) if youre really unlucky your AV/SV gets rended. Glyphs cant.

Now, as youre back at the altar you can cast your next 2 spells easy as pie, even if GoC wears out as you're casting EQ it won't get interupted, both because the effect of GoC works as you start casting a spell and also because i can imagine that the grasps will use d-blow, even though youre un-interuptable, just they will try to interupt you if theyre blind.

Actually, no. After the nerf, you do NOT pre-cast SV. You cast it after aggroing, and after counting Distracting Blows.

Honestly, if you're getting interrupted while casting AV, it's either cos you're impatient, or you haven't got the timing down yet. It's pretty much foolproof once you know what you're looking for.

Thats what i was missing before, I forgot you can precast glyph. And yes SV comes after you aggro. Which is safer?

the GoC sounds like an good idea, i might give that a try and see how it compares to SV.

I've been using the 8sec SV with no problems at all but i am not sure how the smites are when they have full energy and spam RoF that might be too much self heal

blown about 20k, dont see how you get past the nightmares anymore... I cant even accept the quest anymore, the nightmares just spawn which triggers all the enemies onto you....

Are you precasting Storm Djinn's Haste? An easy way is if you reconfig your controls so that "z" is reverse direction and "x" is auto run. When you get the quest or aggro you hit zx and its and auto kite.

I dont know what else could be going on because I rarely think about waiting for patrols as soon as i get in, throw on SDH grab the quest and zx.

I've triedd Unsteady ground..and it isn't near as good as Sandstrom..sandstorm does the extra damage when they are attacking. Still want to thank the OP for showing the build....200 ectos in about a month and a half!! Ecto drop rate really varies though..sometimes i go 5 runs with not one ecto..other times 5 ectos in one run. LOL

If anyone is having problems I'm on a lot and will be glad to help out.
