Any chance that I can see the path in the smite area?

Mind you last night was my first time getting that far, so I was like where the ...... do I go.

Anyway about 6 "successful" runs (Dumb ass Grasping Darknesses ...), produced 0 ectos, phantom residues, gold and a Req 13 Eternal Shield (+28 health) I'll slap on Koss.

I will later add the possible reason for my following question:
Is it normal that the graspings still have a decent amount of life left after the first go through of SandStorm, Stomp and Aftershock? And it seems I only kill 1-3 the first go through of that combo.

Now what possibly would be the reason: I get afraid AV will run out during the pull, so I don't pull them into that little crevice and I stop on the platform.
Would that be a reason? And when's the best time to put AV on? The last skill to use before of the pull or pull into the crevice and put AV on?

Let them increase the recharge on Sandstorm, it really doesnt matter. As long as they don't nerf the damage side of the skill there's no problem. You only have to cast it 1x anyways, they could up the recharge to 60 secs like meteor shower and it still wouldn't matter

IMO stoneflesh is going to get the axe. I would almost guarantee it because other classes are regularly using it and you know how anet is about skills that get overused. While it may be usable if they nerf it, they will add some downtime on the skill so it can't be maintained infinitely.

Until the axe comes i'm stockpiling ectos regardless. Ectos price is high, if they drop another nerf bomb across classes that price will probably go up for a nice payout.

It would be a shame to nerf the first "worthwhile to run" ele uw build after all that benchwarming the ele's had to endure through 2 entire chapters.

The Conditions required for Sandstorm to do its full damage should be enough to not give it a damage nerf. It is sees a recharge time increase - Ok Sure it'll make things a little longer but it wont kill the skill.

And for those still reading this - and too people new to this build and area - this run has a decent learning curve. I repeat this run has a learning curve.

Mainly, the aataxes are not forgiving. If you aggro one and can't shake it, your screwed. This run can be done in ~10 minutes if your good and everything goes right. My first full run took about 35 minutes, because i played it safe and aggro'd groups one at a time. I'm now done to 20 minutes after about 15ish runs. 10 of which have failed. (8 of which were the first 8 runs i tried). So don't expect to go in and instantly just get ecto. IMO if you can make it past the grasps into smite territory, your pretty much home free.

Ill post up a pic later of me aggro'ing a cow and crying because i couldnt kill it. It was bodyblocked for awhile between a spirit and me. THen it ran around

Yes, the coldfires also are stuck sometimes on my runs. (rare, but it happens)
most of the time it's the group that's patrolling the road when you enter the second area in the ice wastes (i hope you know what i mean). I just put my enchants on, and fire with a longbow (if that doesn't work just an attack should do) and run immediatly back. try to make sure there is a wall between you and the coldfire. if you run far enough back (to the second room where there are still aatxes), their aggro should brake.
About the fighting smites, thats very very annoying . To avoid this as much as possible, I don't lure the first group of smites to the others, because it seems that most of the time the group of fighting smites is the second group b4 the first coldfire patrol. (not always, but i rather play safe than deminishing my chance on ecto)

my green storage, about the graspings, it's normal they don't die in 1 combo. look at the video and you see how to deal with it. put av up b4 you lure (if you wanna lure 3 groups, watch the other video)

I'm also afraid stondeflesh gets nerfed indeed that skill is just too good to be true

Lets hope they don't nerf something..but I'm sure they will...it really gets them going when someone can solo stuff...especially in the UW.

But..of course I won't let my hopes fly on this one...since I've seen many many nerfs of lots of good builds in the past.

If there's a stuck patrol I usually kill them

Those things are hard to shake, and I find it faster to kill them *if I have to aggro them. Sometimes they follow you all the way back to the stairs, back in the day I had coldfires follow me all the way to the starting point in the UW, and back around by the behemoths. They are just plain silly, I personally don't mind killing them they arent that hard if you have smites to drain their energy with SV. Once they are drained 2 skill chains and they are done.

My personal record is 11 smites 3 coldfires so far. The smite hex will kill you from frozen burst so be very careful attempting this ( the frozen burst hexes the smites when they nail you with it ) you must get SV up as your moving in towards the coldfires so the smites can't smite hex

cast MoE, stone striker, stoneflesh aura, storm-djinns haste, av/sv... then get aggro... go to safe zone, wait 3 seconds (approx time in which grasps get 0 energy), cast sandstorm, earthquake, aftershock and IMMEDIATELY cast stoneflesh aura right after shockwave!!! then finish the rest of remaining grasps with aftershock! et voilĂ !

But .. they have skull crack which also interrupts (Complete bull honky) ...

It's tricky to time it right, with AV/SV on the graspings should be left with no adrenaline after the first sandstorm combo, and by the time aftershock recharges they wont be able to build the adreneline to use skullcrack.
