No votes for favoured yet dispite 5 pages of similar builds and 2 directly on smite runs. I focused on smite runs this time because the genaric build was getting all negative votes.

This is a BEAUTIFUL build. Took a couple of tries to get used to it as I've never really Solo'ed UW (always Duo runs). It's great how everyone is working on efficiency, although it's not as big of a concern for me for a 3-4 minute difference. I did want to point out that I think it might be possible to do this without Sandstorm, BUT it will be quite a bit slowler.
I'm thinking maybe using Crystal Wave or Tenai's Crystals as a substitue. at 16 earth, it does 106 dmg to adjacent foes. Just a thought for anyone that doesn't have Sandstorm.

I will try to test this to confirm, but I have been farming termites without sandstorm for a while now with a similar build, but E/D instead and it works fine.

Again, this is certainly going to be slower, but since Sandstorm is a little bit a work to get to cap, it might still work by sub'ing it.

Again, fantastic build.

The smites work perfectly. Except the occasional group that decide to try and flee before Earthquake hits they usually all drop in 1 go.

The Grasping however seem to be causing me a few problems... they just don't want to die in 1 sitting. I guess i might just need to wait on the EQ/AS slightly longer though.

if you take only 1 or 2 groups, bodyblock the graspings in the right corner next to the stairs and they will die due to sandstorm even if they run (because they can't escape sandstorm).
If you take all groups at once, its hard to get them in the corner cause most of the time 1 group will run off if you try to reach it. I usually just take em all, and killem off with an aftershock after they ran away, its even not needed to refresh your aura if you time the aftershock. (it sucks that sometimes graspings get stuck behind a ghost

)

right, went off, powered through NF..Cought Sandstorm in about 2ours.
Bought new armour..runew etc
New weapons..could find a +5E weapon so i had 2 steal my warrior Brute sword lol
had to buy ALL the skills, also had 2 unlock 2.
then i went to ToA and we didnt even have favour (euro)

off to try it now

1st though, i gotta download that song, so i can get some hardcore Holland ectos.

I killed my first group in 3 min!)

there are 13 grasps to kill, and i think about 40 smites

always getting dazed..just not quick enough @ killing them yet, but hey! got me 1st ecto.
managed 2 get smites once, but the Colds snuck up on me

omfg! i just tried it, i had SV up, casted everything..they all ad like 10hp left..SV ended..Dazed..managed 2 survive..then dazed again! still alaive..then dazed again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and dead! WTF?!?!

try to lure the 2 groups (or only 1 if you are having a hard time) towards the right staircases where i block em in the video (3 might be a bit hard if you are having trouble). they will all die cause of sandstorm and you don't need to recast, so you wont get dazed. just cast all your enchants b4 luring these squids. (a longer lasting av might also help)

I made an Ele just over a week ago just for messing around with, and had capped Sandstorm last Friday.

I played around with this build over the weekend and even with very sub-standard weapons, I had a huge amount of fun.

I have not been in the UW since the AI changes but used to do many duo runs with my SS necro.

Once you get the hang of it, this build is more fun and more rewarding to play than the duo build ever was!

I have not quite got it right yet though and still only manage to get to the smites about half the time, but after taking into account 1K entry fees, selling all the drops and getting 6 ectos so far I am still in profit by about 25K :-)

More importantly than that, I really enjoyed playing the build!

I just need to get myself a decent weapon(s) and I think it will be even easier.

Thanks to all who helped put this build together.

We can only hope that the skills in this build do not get hit too hard in the up-coming skill changes.

For ppl having problem in the beggining with the grasps!

Why don't you take 3 heroes with you (to help you kill the grasps) and after that just leave him in the starting room, and go for the smites.
If you decide to do that you can even throw away the SV or AV and add another dmg skill, and maybe even take koss with "charge" to get you through the aatxes (charge can't be stripped

), and after that send koss away, so you don't need SDH, add another dmg skill

or whatever you want

My question is: Is it hard to get to the grasping darknesses and the smites?
I have never been in UW or FOW. Not even once. This seems as a very interesting idea though, My tyrian ele was going through NF even before i saw this thread. Right now she is on her way to desolation. I already have Sandstorm on her, and i will get everything I need to try this out soon.

Just, can someone experienced describe the run to the spots? Maybe even OP. Any help would be appreciated though.
Just send me a PM or something with the detailed description of the run, if possible.

Arcane,
It's a little hard in the beginning, before you learn the patrol paths, and know when to lure, you will spend some gold in the beginning and maybe become frustrated but relax, training makes perfection, and after you have some experience this run is very very easy.
It's hard to explain all the run, DL the video, and watch very careful, after that put your questions here.
And after take the quest from ghost, don't forget to target yourself or SV/AV won't work

(Everyone do this in the beggining

In UW there's no much space for mistakes, so!!!
