i cant find any that can get me past avacaria

I think theres a couple up on pvxwiki.com. Dunno though, I never really farmed them.

I have the same problem.
I tried to use a Perma Sind with Sliver armor, but the avacaria always killed me, since their burning arrows go though shadow form

BTW: is this farm worth the time spent anyway?

This is for mesmer, but will most likely work for sin, run full vigors with 14 shadow, have like 620 health, use dark escape+feigned to get passed barrage, if you can't make it, you're doing it wrong.

Find a YouTube video telling you how to do the run. It helps. Dark Escape for running past 'em, Feigned for heals when you need it. Rest up after you lose aggro. Basically, follow the video and you're fine.

Perma-forms have made IDS farming a joke, though, so you're not likely to get TOO much out of it. They'll usually drop 1-2 a run, though, if you clear the whole cave.

it may just be my experince but I wouldn't waste your time IDS farming...in my day I did the run hundreds of times and seriously never got one freakin ids drop, big disappointment

plus nowadays you'd be lucky to sell an IDS for over 15k

in my experience, there is no difference: I farm them for a long time now (farming them for guildies and friends) and I usually get 1 or 2 in NM, and the same in HM (but every run, I get 1 at least).
and because I can kill imps in NM is faster, its better for me

Edit: yesterday I got 3 dry runs - the first dry runs in my IDS farming

I used the same build as Leona but replaced neutrality with stoneflesh aura. It reduced the damage to 0 from the birds.

I got several IDS but other than using them on a toon or hero they aren't really worth the trouble anymore.

You don't need any run skills at all as a perma. Simply take h/h to tag along. A couple W/Ps or P/Ws with Charge and Fall Back would be ideal. Also, take some monk henchies. Run with them, and you'll make it through the rangers (though it can be iffy around the ranger boss). They'll either be dead by the cave, or you can flag them away.
