Default IDS Ranger Solo - Specko Unleashed

Me again with another pet solo. This time its of the Icey Dragon Sword! This build uses the same basic idea as the Uw solo build, but it has a little modification or two.

NOTE: Your pet MUST be a low level, preferably 5 because your pet will gain a few levels killing imps, so 5 would be best.

Protective Spirit
Restful Breeze/Healing Breeze
Essence Bond
Call of Protection
Heal as One
Run as One
Predators Pounce
Charm Animal

Beast Mastery - 11+4 {15}
Expertise - 8+3 {11}
Protection Prayers - 9
Healing Prayers - 8

Staff with 20% longer enchantments
Full Froustbound armor

Ok, the only problem I had running this build at first was that the imps would aggro off Specko (my pet) and come after me. In small groups of 1-4 just spamming Heal as One was enough to get by on the damage. Once you get to the main group in the cave though you start taking a lot of damage. Thats why you have Healing Breeze or Restful Breeze. Once you get into the main cave, you send your pet forward into the group, and once it aggros, you pull back and stand behind the cave wall, making sure not to go too far from your pet, because if you do, he will chase up to you pulling all the imps along with. If you do this correctly, you'll have a nice blockade between yourself and the ice imps attacks. This wont protect you from Maelstrom though. Once you start getting pelted with Maelstrom, its time to put on your Healing Breeze or Restful Spirit. I suggest using healing breeze because you can still have your pet attacking while your getting your regen. Along with your Healing Breeze or Restful Breeze, you should still be spamming Heal as One for the bulk heals, which help a lot here. Trolls and Ice Golems aren't a problem for this build either.

Another small problem I had was bad Tundra Giant spawns, but will a little effort and patience, you can kill them with this build, make sure to keep your health up. If theres something you can stand behind to avoid there attacks then I suggest doing so.

Sadly this build only has 1 attack skill so it is a little longer then it could be, but with only a 5 second recharge and decent damage on the skill, the imps still aren't a problem. If you pull things right this run isn't that long, besides actually running to the cave of course.

Running to the cave if pretty self explanatory. Before you aggro a group you make sure you use Call of Protection and then cast Protective Spirit on your pet, and Healing Breeze or Restful Breeze on yourself if you want, and rush through whatever group you may encounter using Run as One.

Another little bit of info for everyone out there, you don't have to bring a pet along if you don't want to worry about healing it on the way to the cave. There are plenty of bears in Mineral Springs that you can cap once your close to the cave.

If anyone else encounters any big problems with this build please post what your issue is and maybe I can lend a little bit of advice.

Happy hunting!

P.S The name for this build also came from the movie Cloverfield, only this one is what we had called the little monsters that came from the big monster because they reminded us of part gecko, and part spider. Thus the Specko was born!

It stops when you ATTACK. So your pet will die zomgfast. Stick to healing breeze.

...Or just something... FASTER?

Thats why it was an either or thing, Ive had several moments where I havent had to use any skills for 5-6 seconds, I was just giving more then one option, lol.

As for the time it takes, depending on the spawn size, once you get to the cave it takes anywhere from 10-25 minutes

NOTE: Abedeus remember that the breeze isnt for your pet, its for you, prot spirit+call of protection= no damage to a level 5 pet

Then if you want a regen for yourself, get HB. Because you might need to use Heal as One for a quick boost or decide to run away, and then your regen goes poof.

Yeah, Ive thought the same thing, but I was just making a point, lol.

Ive never really had a problem keeping my pet alive on the way out to the cave, so I was thinking that maybe I could change the elite to Life Sheath. Imps only do a max of like 14 damage with maelstrom, and thats all you should be getting hit with if you pull right. You could spam Life Sheath on yourself in a tight situation and let HB take care of the rest possibly...
