Its 30 free kills every 60 seconds. Every 95 second if you want to kill boss aswell, it has given my ele atleast 30 mil xp.

Its so popular becouse of the high amount of foes that u can kill per minute.
Since there are no more expensive items that can be dropped by monsters (excepted UW and FoW) it doesnt matter what monsters u kill but only how many u kill.
The high amount of kills per minute makes this farm exspecially good for event farming + its one of the best ways to get asura rep pionts.

The original reason why this farm became so popular was that raptors could drop elemental swords which used to be really expensive.

Now that elemental swords are worthless many ppl prefer the veattir farm since the kills per minute ratio there is even higher.

No. Don't listen to them!

The profit is generally small! You make your money out of unid golds and vendor junk. Assassin tomes are almost worthless now, ie time taken to sell them doesnt justify selling them in the first place.

The real reason its so popular is because its easy. Anyone with half a brain can do it. Its also safe and, of course, one of the best ways of getting asura points, which are quite difficult to get compared with, for example, dwarven points.

lol 30k per hour is....well pretty much nothing

a smite run takes 15-20 minutes on a vwk warrior, closer to 10 with an aob derv, and you get 1-3 ectos per run, plus whatever loot you get, scrolls, unids and such

and speed clears get 3-5 ectos, plus the end chest per run and those take around 30 minutes

hell, i can run droks on my derv charging 2k a head and get close to 100k per hour, dont have to worry about farming code there :-p

It's probably the easiest way to farm holiday items and Asuran points. Past that, it's not that big a deal.

Add 30 seconds to those times.

First rule of farming, people always quote overly optimistic times and rewards.

I know the timings. Mostly the problem the time it takes to get there. 60 seconds for 30 is not realistic.

And you don't have to be good, its raptors, anyone can do it.

http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=N1UepY2EP9A 60 second run on a w/rt which is much slower than the ele and asn versions.

That is also not a full run, no raptor boss (meaning hes missing like 16 raptors), no stopping for rep bonus, and not looking and respawning for another run.

1:30-2:00.

Personally I could run it a whole lot faster if I didn't have to line up the raptors perfectly so that the raptor boss went down first (or it can become a true pain to keep your life up with his special).

Also, the most efficient way to farm holiday items at the moment is the vaettir shadow bomber setup, I got runs down to right over 2 minutes including zoning for all 60 vaettirs in hard mode. Approximately a stack of ToT bags an hour and a full inventory of golds (that being just the golds I didn't ID and salvage, I tend to ID and salvage non-perfect golds over r9) not to mention a whole lot of blues / purples / white salvage items (generally leaving with at least 1 stack of all the common materials (dust, iron, wood) and nearly 2 stacks if you get a lot of crap). This making the run worth about 80-90k/hr (45k stack of bags, 5-10k materials, and roughly 20-30k in unid / r9s) provided you have a decent time there.

1. Doesn't start from the beginning.
2. Ends before the end.
3. Not 30 raptors.

Realistically you are looking at 1:45 or so per run minimum.

umm thats kind of my point. W/Rt doing the run in 60 secs means that an ele will be doing it in ~45secs. Add in 7secs each way for load screens and you've got your 60 second raptor run.

Just because you cannot do it means noone can, yeah, that seems more realistic. /sarcasm (yes, I just had to do that)
I kill everything in the cave BUT the boss, making the build optimal for non-loot-scaled items only.
O hai scarn

Its good that you know the timings, then you should have no problem creating a build which kills all the raptors within 50 seconds. Right?

Then post a video of an end to end 60 second cycle which kills 30 raptors

This makes no sense, I am saying that 60 seconds isn't realistic, what makes you think I could do it in 50?

I farm these as a ranger (with boss) so for me its over 2 minutes, eles are certainly faster, just not as fast as you are claiming.

Am willing to eat my words though when you post that video.
