Smile Can you rate my first Ele/Mo Build?

So I was wandering around the forums and I wanted to add my own twist to the 330 Ele/Stoneguard Build (sorry if I got the name wrong...)

Attributes:

Earth Magic: 12

Protection Prayers: 11

Energy Storage: 6

This build is intended for a knock down and aftershock combo, then followed by spamming spells to finish off....

Here is the bar:

[Balthazar's Spirit][Protective Spirit][Shield of Regeneration][Earthquake][Aftershock][Stone Daggers]

I am not sure what to put in my last two spots on my bar, so if you could put in your opinions it would greatly appreciated, I was also thinking of doing [Earth Attunement] instead of [Balthazar's Spirit] for reduced cost and possibly better energy management.... I was also thinking of doing [Reversal of Fortune], [Shielding Hands], or [Sliver Armor] for my last skills on the bar.

Usage:

Cast [Balthazar's Spirit][Protective Spirit] and maintain before and after aggroing the group.

Cast [Earthquake], followed by [Aftershock] for the bulk of damage.

Spam [Stone Daggers] to dispatch remaining Enemies.

Maintain [Shield of Regeneration] when needed.

Repeat the [Earthquake] and [Aftershock] combo if needed.

Concerns:

[Earthquake] Takes such a large amount of energy to cast and if interrupted then you can say bye bye...

[Shield of Regeneration] takes a lot of energy to cast for a protection spell and you may be low on energy and not able to cast it in time....

Please post your thoughts and constructive criticism....

Oh and Please be gentle since I am a Noob after all.....

umm, well. It will get you through the first half of a campaign in Normal Mode.

You shouldnt need to be using proteciton prayers if you are using earth magic just because earth magic has enough protection by itself

It almost looks like you are trying to make a 55hp build. if so then [sliver armor] would be a good choice.

[balthazars spirit][protective spirit][stoneflesh aura][shield of regeneration][sliver armor][churning earth][ward of stability][PBAoE]
But since you stated you are a noob, i really wouldnt try a 55 build until you get the hang of a normal earth build.

and even though a 55 build can be very effective, if you are wanting to run a earth tank build, you may be more successful with something like this
[earth attunement][stone striker][mantra of earth][stoneflesh aura][armor of earth][sliver armor][arcane echo][shockwave]
If you run that build i would recommend putting 5 geomancer insignias on your armor.

Im just assuming that you want to stay with earth. If you could post what element you are interested in using and what elite skills you have at your disposal then im sure we could help you better at putting a build together.

if you want a build that would just be good for teamplay then id steer away from all the previously posted builds on this thread and go with something more like.
[earth attunement][churning earth][ash blast][unsteady ground][aftershock][ward of weakness][glowstone][stoning]

[shield of regeneration] isn't good for any profession. Knockdown+aftershock I don't find very affective. It boosts aftershock for for an ele a spell that requires enemies around you isn't the best way to go.

[Sliver armor] is very powerful solo, but for team play it fails.
For team play you would want [Unsteady Ground]. Quick recharge, good damage and knockdown. [Ward Against Melee] is your teams best friend. Provides your team with blocking. [Ebon Hawk]+[Stoning]+[Ash Blast]+[Glowstone] is a great combo, much better than the one you had. Guessing you don't have nightfall [ebon hawk] and [glowstone] are out.

Nightfall skills are very kind to earth and fire eles. Factions is very kind to air eles. Prophices are kind to water ele's.

It would be nice to know what your build is for. Farming, Team play or henchies/heros play. THEN we can offer some better advice.

[Earth attunement] is definitely a better choice of E-Management unless you are trying to make a solo build. But if you get your HP down to only 55 or even 130 with [protective spirit][stoneflesh aura] then [Balthazar's spirit] would be a better choice.

ALthough i have always been a fan of [stone striker]+[mantra of earth] just because of the damage reduction and the e-management.
Even more than that i was a huge fan of
[greater conflagration][mantra of flame] just because you could make heroes have this:
You ?/Me [mantra of flame]
Hero 1 [ward against [email protected]][mantra of [email protected]]
Hero 2 [Greater conflagration][mantra of [email protected]]
hero 3 [word of healing][mantra of [email protected]]

those few skills have just seriously nerfed the damage taken by your team as well as added nice e management.

Oh yeah, and if you are trying to keep it like the 330 build you will have to keep in [stoneflesh aura]
[balthazars spirit][protective spirit][stoneflesh [email protected]] is the core of the 330 build. If your HP is 330hp then [protective spirit] reduces all damage to 10% of 330 which is 33, and then [[stoneflesh [email protected]] reduces all damage taken by 33 wich reduces damage taken to ZERo.

i forget what the 330 build is exactly but i think its something like this:
[balthazars spirit][protective spirit][stoneflesh aura][sliver armor][shockwave][teinais crystals][crystal wave][earth attunement]

55hp or 330hp builds are generally for farming only and will fail in normal play.
Since you said you are a noob I guess you do not want to go farming but you want to play through the campaign.
That's why building something based on a farming build is a very, very bad idea.

In normal campaign play, Guild Wars is a team game. You as an Elementalist do not need healing spells, Monks in your team will do that just fine.
Earth magic is a great choice, the 3rd build that daze suggested is very good and will easily get you through any of the campaigns (using henchmen or heroes to fill the open party slots).

Why not give Hero 2 also [Winter] and instead of [Mantra of Flame] use [Mantra of Frost]? Instead of only decreasing physical and fire dmg you take and gain energy from, now you decrease physical and all elemental dmg and gain energy from physical and all elemental sources. Hero 1 can then use [Ward against elements] and this frees up his elite slot for a more useful skill.

Ok here is my new build, and like I said I am thinking of only taking the core of the 330 Stoneguard build.... I am also using this for a farming build, but will also be using similiar skills for PvP and General Play....

Ok here is the new bar so far:

[Earth Attunement][Protective Spirit][Stoneflesh Aura][Sliver Armor][Grasping Earth][Sandstorm][Reversal of Fortune][Crystal Wave]

Notes:

[Earth Attunement][Protective Spirit][Stoneflesh Aura][Sliver Armor] - Core of the 330 Stoneguard

[Grasping Earth][Sandstorm] - If in effect for the full 10 seconds and they are stupid enough to attack for the full 10 seconds also then they recieve about 600 damage...

[Earth Attunement][Protective Spirit][Stoneflesh Aura][Sliver Armor] Is the core of the build but the rest is open, so if you have any good suggestions that I could include then that would be awesome.

Interesting, so you are saying to go [greater conflagration][winter] to convert al physical damage to elemental damage then winter to convert all that to cold?

That would be nice if it worked that way then i wouldnt have to bring [ward against harm] instead i could bring [ward against elements] like you suggested.

That seems like a fun concept to play with. ill try it out.

[reversal of fortune] isn't that good a self heal, you're better off with [shield guardian]. Reversal only heals upto the dmg you receive, which will be 0.
Shield guardian though a little more energy intensive is a better heal (I use with balth for farming).

A good degen, like [radiation field] helps soften up mobs. ["by ursal's hammer!"] and [ebon battle standard of honor] are also good.

ps go 12 in prot.

way to fail in spelling ASP, he meant ["by ural's hammer!"] either way, back to your build you probably wont want to be mixing farming, and campaign builds together. in general pve (not talking about elite areas), you just wanna go all damage and let the h/h do the rest of the healing and protting, however for farming you want to put both concepts in. Eitherway, you might want to learn to PvE well, before you start farming since that is more complicated. good luck!
