Default Gargoyle Skull Farming Drop Figures.

For Wintersday, I farmed a lot of skulls, as I know many do. Everytime I read a thread like this though, there is alot of arguement on drop rates, anti-farm, etc...So I decided to record 100runs, and see what I came up with. I would be interested to know if these percentages are concurrent with all drop gamewide, and if anyone else has ever compiled this sort of data.

This lists only gargoyle skull drops, since those are what people are mostly after. Keep in mind that there are a few Wind Riders, and charr that can be farmed for collector drops as well. I also piled over 2 stacks of scale, 1.5 stacks of granite(roughly), and approx.30 various dyes, though not a single white or black.

The run, and the results:

sorry but anti farm code wont apply to skulls since they are the worst drop.....as your code gets worse your skull drops will stay the same or seem to be more frequent if anything, since they are bottom of the barrel in terms of drops...this is why it is a great farm, specially when there are festival items.....thank you come again.

Isn't the whole point of loot scaling to slow down the dropping of things like skulls, and therefore increasing the drop rate of things like golds and dyes, not the other way around?

Not to increase the gold drops, but to scale back the common drops so that farms with lots of drops, of low value dont get done. I remember I used to do tonnes of vermin farming, getting about 15k an hr, and after loot scaling I was lucky to get 5.

Even ANet knows how much cash can roll in due to Merch Trash (white drops), and in an effort to prevent too much wealth from being accumulated due to high-speed/high-volume farms, farming code/loot scaling was introduced.

Of course, if you don't really care, it doesn't really matter. Most of my white drops get salvaged for crafting mats if I'm doing a run that accumulates enough drops as to run me out of inventory space, that way I have room for all the blue or better drops that have an inherent/inscribed improved sale value, as well as dyes, tomes, keys, gold items, and collector drops.
