Default VSF farm- still possible post SF nerf?

I used to do these farms quite a bit and in more than ocassion, the SF runner would die. I've tried running it once solo before the nerf- Choking Gas, Trample (x100), and tight narrow area with no rests- I wouldn't blame them. Although I only tried that once so perhaps I missed out on some small rest area or trick.

Post SF nerf, I'd imagine it'll even be more difficult. If there are no rest spots, you'll probably run out of energy to maintain SF as you near the end along with Dwarven Stab, Dark Escape, and I'm Unstoppable. Not only that, but Dwarven Stab+Dark Escape doesn't sync with the old 30 recharge of SF.. and you'll have to recast more meaning more chance or interrupts by either knockdown or Choking gas.

Is it still possible?

There's nothing, that perma can do, and obsidian tank ele couldnt. But sure, it will be much longer (thanks to number of enchantments to maintain + stupid 50 % speed penalty)

No way your obsidian tank can do everything a perma can. Can you run into spirits of disenchantment, shattering assult... I can make the list lo ng wich proves a terra cant do VSF cuz of sod

Adding a hero will reduce drops and its not "Solo" imo.

It can be done, my guild and I still do runs every once and a while. Right before the sin runs in have him Get BIP, it makes the energy less intense.

The answer is yes you realy dont have to do anything special, but you can make it alot easier on yourself if you just use the Dwarven Stability and drink a booze right before you activate it. This keeps you from being KD and it was already in the bar before so you dont have to waste the 10nrg to cast IAU.

Oookie I see. The only time I did this, I took the long route. No wonder. o_p

Just tried it again with the right path and was surpised to finish it rather easily and quickly.

Can anyone link the route to the run? I don't know the quickest route, my last one to Exile was like 3 mins.

Also, I was doing this as a Cryer the other day and had a Perma who knew this spot where's no one would attack you if you stand near on it or something. Anyone care to reveal it? Maybe if you want to be secretive you can PM me, please? o_p

The answer to your question is yes, the permasin can still do VSF farming. it is harder than it used to be so not everyone with an elite sin tome can do it. but using correct technique and correct skill setup it can be done. if you visit umbral grotto these days you will find many permas claiming they are pro at running it only to die every time and most likely not make it to the wall. but once you find a good perma that can run it stick with him. Most permas these days that can do it successfully with a 100% success rate(by completion, not deaths) mainly make a close knit group of friends and guildies to do this with. and unfortunately thanks to the scarcity the cryer is officially labeled "expendible" so if you find a successful perma. be kind, nice, and polite. because as ive seen. they do not deal with people they don't like. the power shift of vsf has gone completely to the perma.

Build:
Glyph of lesser energy
Deadly paradox
Shadow Form
Dark Escape
Death's Charge
I am Unstoppable( rank 6+)
Dwarven stability
dash

Usage, use the first three skills at end of bridge on monster side. Walk through the gate past the stone summit and wait to recast Shadow Form. Once you cast shadow form you cast dwarven stability then dark escape, wait til the very last moment before you hit the modnir's to use I am unstoppable. if you can manage(only way you will live) is to not recast shadow form untill you are at bottom of stairs behind the wall so that choking gas cannot reach you. keep going along now that you are pretty much in clear. if you start taking large amounts of damage and not in range of the monk then death's charge to a monster to heal. This keep up Sf and make it to the gate, take a left at the gate and go into the little alcove. Keep SF up as long as your alive. Boom done


Group choices:
1 Ranger/Ritualist - who has frozen soil and Edge of extinction and some form of spirit killer
1 Monk/Elementalist - Must carry Healers boon, heal party, protective spirit, glyph of lesser energy is suggested.

5 cryers or 3 cryers and 2 Ray of Judgement monks - Must have arcane echo and cry of pain atleast. echo is highly suggested. RoJ monks must carry arcane echo, arcane mimcry, Ray of Judgement

Order of Kill:
Warders
Dreamers
Summoners
Defenders
Zealots
Marksman
Justiciar should be last (if wall falls without clearing there can be difficulties)


follow this basic guide and good luck to you, have fun farming

EDIT: Please share this with friends and guildies so that the permas that can run arent completely swamped.. also... id like to not have to run so if you get ahold of me ingame i can teach you how to do this. First 3 people only
