Default 600 problem

I do 600 smite build in UW. The one from PvXwiki. I keep up the enchantements needed. Then before battle I use prot spirit, spirit bond, shield of absortion and spell breaker. But sometimes even when there isn't a dying nightmaree i seem to take a spike and I die. I don't know why this happens. Please anyone know?

Are you sure your attributes are set correctly? What version of 600/smite are you using?

maybe you were tanking a large group, SoA ran out, and you didn't put it back up properly.
i don't know how well you understand 600 monks because the idea is lost on a lot of people who try to run it, so ill explain anyway.
SoA + prot spirit is what's keeping you alive against large groups. spirit bond is just to heal up what gets past SoA before the dmg gets reduced to zero.
the biggest mistake i see people making (mainly the few times i get CoF runs) is thinking that prot spirit + spirit bond is their super healing engine that will keep them alive. they tank a large group, spirit bond reaches the hit limit in under a second and they're dead before spirit bond recharges.
cast PS, SBreaker, SoA, SBond, run in, you'll be fine until SoA is about to run out. just as it runs out, cast SBond, SoA, SBond. the first SBond is to keep you alive while you recast SoA, the second will heal up the damage you take after the first SBond wears off but before SoA reduces dmg to 0. rinse and repeat.
if you understand 600 monks better than i think you do, well then i wasted my time xD.

Like the poster above me said.

For small groups SB is more than enough to keep you alive, but against larger groups (in HM especially) SB runs out (10 hits) before it has recharged so your health drops fast. Your priority should be PS > SoA > SB.

OK I think my problem was with SoA. So thanks for that!
What other places can I farm using 600/smite other than Gates of Kryta and UW?

I used to do CoF runs, not sure if they still exist tho. Nice for training to 600 at least

Basically 600/smite can do anywhere a 55 monk can and other places it cant but with a few exceptions - anywhere with extreme enchant removal .. eg mantids outside naphui quarter.
Fow,Fahranur, area around kaineng, shing jea afflicted - just to name a few and there are some places you do need either ss necro or a mes with dmg skills for monks - the basic necro part of 55/ss team will work with 600/smite ( 600/smite/ss team we vanquished istan and only hm monks were a problem before ss joined in ).
Id suggest searching forum for 55/ss info and that will give ideas on places.
Some places in vabbi you do need to test first an make adjustments after - with anets speed of buff/nerf skills u never kno how the foes are using them - like heket beasts with that damn elite that got buffed - strike as 1 , almost cought me out on my sin and i wondered what the hell id been drinkin as they never teleported before lol.
Cof runs do still exist - seen them offerring runs quite a few times now

Something that most 600s ingame dont realise: HAVE 16 DIVINE..

you can almost maintain SoA with just a 1 second downtown which spirit bond can easily cover nearly all the time
