Well i spent a good portion of the beginning of the canthan new year making raptors cry and blowing up vaettir but i was not getting any lunar tokens to drop. maybe 1 or 2 per raptor run if i was lucky and running to jaga moiraine with Budger in tow was a pain in the ass for just a few tokens each keg run. i easily filled up with golds, dyes and maps before i was anywhere near even half a stack of tokens. one of my guildies (hey trubs!!

)was doing minister cho's estate and said that the sickened animals there were dropping a lot of tokens so i tried it out. she was in normal mode, but c'mon who farms in NM? so i gave it a shot in HM. i used the same build i use for farming the luxon sins in the Halcyon job and it worked pretty well. i'm in no way saying this is the best build for the job but it gets the job done pretty easily in 5-8 minutes and you get 5-15 tokens for doing it. 5 was the fewest i got and 15 the most. i'm sure there are big bomb AoE's that can do it better but my ele doesn't have Ran Musu or Minister Cho's Mission yet and i didn't really wanna take the time to try and figure out the E-mgmt my sin would need. i noticed that the animals never drop anything except lunar tokens, dyes, and normal tomes so NM or HM doesn't make much difference except you don't get the same big aggro in NM as you do in HM because they won't follow you as far and your chest drops will be awful in NM also. i happened to get an elite ranger and elite warrior tome along with a few golds from chests on this route. anyway here goes:

this is a modified 600 type build. you want as much health as you can get so a cupcake or something also helps out. you want a +3+1 smite headpiece and a +1+1 prot headpiece. cast retribution with your smite headpiece on and put your prot piece on afterwards. since i'm not using [[blessed aura], SoA won't be permanent but you still want a +20% enchant staff. getting the half recharge on VwK really speeds this up so maybe even a 20/20 resto offhand would be good if you use a sword or axe or something as your farming weapon as opposed to a staff with a universal HSR 20%. i prefer the staff just because you can get the HSR on SoA and VwK without weapon swapping each cast.

start in Ran Musu and follow this path for the farm:

you don't need to aggro every animal on the map because it'll take more time than it's worth. i just stand where patrols go and try to get in the middle of a big mob. don't aggro the sickened "people" because it just slows you down and isn't really worth it, in my opinion.

this is what i had in my inventory to start and what i finished with, after 1 run, along with my /age to show how long it takes with this particular build.

I'm of the opinion now, that, unless you really have to get that mini cow pet, you're wasting your time with farming these tokens.

A token will net you about 0.5 *points* (sweet/party), worth around 100g. The previous farm showed 7 tokens in 6 minutes, or 70 in an hour. I'm figuring farming quests with 2 accounts might net you something similar. That's 3.5k/hour - hardly worth it.

Oh well I'm disappointed, but whatever. Prolly better off figuring out a way to farm mats for the actual cooks (mantis/d pincers?)...

did this run with the vengeful rit build on NM and got roughly 10-15 per run just as the OP noted. i tried it on hard mode and had a tough go of it do to the mesmers and AOE ele's. the made things a bit rough. any suggestions for other builds and id be grateful.

I am getting the same sort of returns (5-15 tokens per 15-20 mins) farming feathers in NM in Jaya Bluffs.

My biggest surprise of the day - req 13 Longhair Yeti - first monster killed on the map - dropped a sapphire

A flashing blades and daggers build works rather well here in HM, probably faster than SF ever could be. It does help that the animals use primal rage a lot and thus take 40 damage from FB each attack.

I gave this a go using a touch ranger with summon ruby djinn, takes under 4 minutes but only gave me 5-7 tokens. Are these things rate of kill loot nerfed?

I use a 55 necro build for hm and it rips thru it nicely. I have 2 versions - a SS/IP and a SV/Necrosis. Other than either of those 2 skills just the basic 55 skills.

If you're wondering what the [Consume Corpse] is for, it for getting ahead of Togo so he doesn't get in your way. In the part of the mish where Togo pings your compass, just run over to the gate and use it. You'll teleport to a corpse just in range of the 2 afflicted guards outside. Then just PS-HB-etc etc. Then he stays behind and you run ahead killing everything by yourself, teleporting through all the closed gates as you come to them. There's always something dead on the other side.

did this run. In my opinion its not worth farmin Lunar Tokens go farm dust or somethin else for Nubah Lao and not Tokens.

The drop ratio for lunars suck bigtime and ive been doin this run on an off all day in hm with standard 600/smite - yes u do get a few tokens an tomes off the animals but its not really anything major as ive noticed no real diff in drops anywhere.

CronkTheImpaler - ive done it with 330 rit build in hm with no real probs - check out Rezdogs post on 330 and 105 rit for a few ideas

ok so you dont need any of this, just solo the very first majour area you get to explore in Factions i got like 20 LT in 15 minutes. sold them 100g for a peice made 2k in 15 minutes, repeat as desired

Farm the quests guys. Level 20 char with IMS WITHOUT any outposts but Shing Jea open is about 35 min. 125 tokens in 35 min is far better IMO.
