Default Is boss farming worth it?

I was just wondering if boss farming was decent money before I go and spent money on making one.

If you're farming for greens, then no there are much better things you could be farming for cash. But if you're after elite tomes, then it might be worth it.

farming quick and easy bosses for elite tomes is fine, but those dont drop very often. the greens drop more often but none are of any serious worth now, those days when Drago's Longbow and Rago's Flamestaff were 100k+ectos are long gonna now...

so honestly boss farming isnt very efficient nowadays, especially those that arent close to spawning points.

TBH, no, the greens aren't worth much theses days and the elite tombs drop very rarely, so the chances of one dropping aren't much.

Just make one you can farm lots of stuff with, including bosses. Then you have a win win. I think the perma is the best but I'm sure others will disagree. Permas may not be around much longer, you never know then the Anet nerf hammer will make the final blow.

Slightly off topic but still to do with bosses - i recall just when hm started that it seemed that tomes/elite tomes were dropping easily - it looked that way due to the amount of tome sellers everywhere. But soon after things went dry , we`ve all had sessions where we kill a boss loads of times and lucky if we get a green and mega lucky if we get a tome/elite off them.
ive probably hunted the ele boss in plains of jarin that many times were almost married and hes never yet gave me elite tome - tho he has parted 2x with a crappy green lol.
Back on topic - greens hasnt the value they had a yr ago and often its not worth the effort of farming one thats high end due to the effort of having to farm him/her 50x.
Claws of broodmother is an ok green but farming has made it almost worthless , dwaynas grace is a bugger to get and ive got more greens off the 2 bosses with the accolyte that the damn scythe lol.

Personally i tend to look at easy low end greens that are easy to get to and fast run - mindclouder/scar eater as prime examples , not worth much but on sin only a few mins per try , ive had maybe 10 out of 30 runs drop but they are fast and worth a few k but damn nice for monks.
You could always ignore bosses and work out places that drop certain golds ( pref nf or eotn for modding ) eg monk staffs , earth staffs and farm caster mods an make caster weapons - an earth staff of enchanting with + 20 nrg in total is better than totem + offhand for a lot of builds ( earth tank ele , a/e sin etc ) and you can probably make a fair bit of money selling them.

Most profs can be made into farmers easily or even team up with guildies and make a team build - i have around 7 chrs that i can use for farming so i can be spoilt for choice what or where to farm without having to make a new chr from scratch.
And as i assume by your profession you use rit - rits can do a fair bit of farming themselves and are fun to farm with ( ty a simple farmer for the 330/105 builds you posted - brought my rit out of retirement ).

like darkroot daggers were 10-12k
scar eater was also 10k

but now.... eh... also it seems like they made elite tomes drop less... but it could just be me

Greens can still make you money (not tons of money but money) Woespreader is an easy 3-5k, Sadis Benediction 10k, kormabs prism 5k Modtis deprevation 5k so on and so forth...but farming JUST for greens is not too profitable...but if u hit a boss alot your bound to get elite tomes gold drops dyes/runes...

There are faster ways to make money..but I imagine most of us farmers do a little of everything these days...

You ask around ppl who have played for 18 months + and ask if they recall dwaynas grace being worth around 60k and they`ll tell you probably yes.
With the increase in skills available from eotn and even nf it made boss farming a lot easier which in turn meant more avaible on the market so prices plummet.
Also ask ppl who played for 3yrs about ecto prices ( you`d be amazed how much they were worth compared to now ),even runes were quite expensive (sup vigor was almost 5x its current value.

My point was the drop in prices where you said not worth anything a yr ago etc - more skills via eotn have made boss farming easier and faster so leading to the decline in green prices. Also not all are worthless - supply and demand does show certain greens still being sought after - ghials staff is 1 off my head .Greens these days are not regarded the same as before - now its prefered to have a gold weapon than a boss weapon

also superraptors, dont you remember those times when Drago's Longbow and Rago's Flame Staff were like 100k+30e each? yeah both bosses are in Sorrow's Furnace btw...
also when Factions came out and people started reaching Urgoz's Warren and The Deep both Urgoz's and Kanaxai's greens were worth a lot. there are also other examples like Ghial's staff and Dwayna's Grace that have been mentioned above.

so yes greens were actually worth quite a bit back in the day, especially sought after greens...

Try to find a green that perfectly fits the mod demands of a popular build. Pywatt's Talons for example, are just about perfect for a permasin running a dagger build and can be solo farmed (and is near a portal). I made a pretty tidy profit farming those daggers during the green drop weekend and readily selling them for 7k.
