the sec U step on his island 2 nightmare pops up and a aloe.
run an reg..run back..Resilient Weapon and stand on the island..
Echo+VWK+Feel No Pain and Backfire the Aloe..all the VW U can.
after the Aloe is dead..run an reg...run back and kill him and his m8
move on..

just one Aloe .. Use Backfire and Vengeful Weapon
just one nightmare..Vengeful Weapon it.

Great Guide!! I used to farm these way back with my necro. I don't remember the build, I'll have to mess around with it.

There is a shorter route to get there. Run to where the Fog Nightmares are, the green circle.

You can also farm it with a warrior. I do not kill the boss, so Pain Inverter can be replaced. I am sure the build can be tweaked. A run takes about 15 minutes.

Nice guide for those with a Ritualist or Mesmer. I sometimes farm this on my Ranger as touchie:

Troll is only to speed recovery from poison, and the 2 run skills are just to get there faster. Feel free to substitute the last 3, and/or Siphon for other skills like [[Feel no Pain] or whatever. Use Offering as much as possible, target one or two with Siphon before you run in, then touch, Offering as needed, and Unholy to recover from the initial spike. Same tactics as above, no more than 4 at a time, may need to hit and run for aloes. Try to separate the aloes, but make sure you target and kill the aloes first if they are in a group. Do not attempt to take more than 3 Nightmares if aloes are present. Engage the pop-up Necro boss by himself if possible. Use Messy's route to get to the swamp.

Ritualist or Mesmer may be faster; unable to try.

edit: It may be worth noting that Shadowy Remnants are a 1:1 trade for Wintersday.

You are correct. I had thought they used a sacrifice spell to trigger [[Dark Aura], but they use [[Touch of Agony], so [[Shadow Form] would prove useless.

[email protected]: Only thing you'd lose out on is dyes, but I suppose you could speed clear the hell out of these guys with a full team. RoJ, mayhaps?

Also, a question for the masses - in HM, wil enemies drop more Dust at a time, like they do in other farms? I'll go test it out, but I think that would be a nice possibility.

I've been getting them in HM with that - Veil makes Mark of Subversion cast slower, so you can sneak in Prot Spirit safely in between hexes. Just keep up regen and you'll be fine. Autoattack to trigger Holy Wrath on the Aloes, I had no problem taking down two at a time. DP is an excellent tool to keep your health low.

One small note - if you don't mind the dp, you can run off to the left when you spawn in the curtain and die in the poison, which rezzes you just north of the farm spot.

The Foggies aren't undead, they're nightmares. Ergo, SoJ is slooow for them. I've found that damage isn't too much of a problem with these guys, as they mostly kill themselves with touch skills and you can shut the aloes down with autoattacks.

hmm solo 600 spirit bond dont works, they do less then 60 damage with there lame skills, maybe HM will help.
55hp is lethal here, touch and your dead, anyone ideas?

Not sure about HM but in NM a fire nuker destroys them. I just run a plain old searing flamer with PbAOE. Flame djinns is a good speed boost and damage source.

Easy farm, Aura of resto is the heal I normally run. Can take the boss down in NM easily with a little running and pulling. Basically just aggro a mob with Searing Flame then spam SF and glowing gaze until they get close and touch you, PbAOE and they are dead.

Very easy on an ele, run to the exit at the top right past a few undead (Nebo?) and repeat until bored to death.

I farmed the hell out of these guys with my ele PB AoE fire ele and a trapper back in the day, never got 1 black die, lots of purple, orange, and blue though...
