Works just like locking an enemy as the target. Open the hero skill panel, select the target you want them to be locked onto (party member in this case), and select the button to lock it. Its kinda like the button that makes a hero drop a held item, many people don't realize it is there.

The greens in CoF are worthless just fyi. I can GIVE you one of them next time I get one. Or you could buy 1 for 1k.
the only thing really worth anything at all would be the polymock piece.
CoF is more for the rep points and HM book.

I'm looking at skill panel right now. The only thing there is the target a foe button. It doesnt work on party members. Even says must target a FOE. And there is no other button. So still no clue where you're getting this.

I run the smiter on a 2nd account and the character 'max' health and have no need for any healing. The only time it will die is if I aggro a lot of banshees without Spell Breaker.

Head: Survivor + Minor Divine
Body: Survivor + Major Vigor
Hands: Survivor + Vitae
Legs: Survivor + Vitae
Feet: Survivor + Vitae
+30hp shield and +30hp spear.
I take a superior Prot and Smite headpiece for casting the bonds.

+some points in Divine.

Another thing to try is to attack the monks with a sword. That way, reversal will hit you instead of your smiter. If there are alot of them in a group this obviously wont work too well either.

The smiter uses Signet of Devotion to keep himself alive, I have 2 pips of energy regen, and LoD to reveal treasures and do damage. I rarely need to use Purge SIgnet, but it helps at times. If I do die, which is rare, I rez and the hero ports with me since there is no rez on him. If I go with other people, I give him Rebirth instead of Purge Sig.

But yes, put the enchants on in the right order or the damage is too high. The damage dealt to the hero is based on the FIRST packet of damage from Retribution and Holy Wrath, not both. So you want the damage to come from Retribution, not Holy Wrath.
Hi I tried your builds and they dont work for me or any of my guildies that run 600's but hey if they work for you then run them And if you have some time maybe you could run me as im curious to see them in action thx. Maybe there is something im missing.

Dog wood, cast the proper enchants on the 600 tank, but put retribution first, then holy wrath, so if reversal of damage if used, it will only affect retriubiton and not holy wrath's damage. Signet of devotion is there to heal the monk, so he doesn't die, and LOD on the 600 is for more damage out put and finding treasures ( I think)

Actually now that i think of it the daze and burning is what hurts me the most with those builds i did fairly well with them except for 2 spots where it seemed i wasnt killing fast enough i had a guildie smite for me,We each took turns running we both had the same problems. no biggie though it was fun to try
