Referring to above ^^^

You don't really need strength for much other than your shield req, so it really depends. You'll probably want an axe mastery helm, I'd go with a 1k model if you don't use axes primarily. I have my helm hidden permanently anyway, though.

Replace the inscription with either +15% dmg in stance (iirc) or +5 energy which is my personal preference.

Never tried this build....as I use the W/RT one.....should try it one of those days.

Concerning the ecto's average drop it depends how many times u do it...in a week for instance.

If I solo farm once in a while I often get 3 ectos. Then if I retry it just after, I most often get ONE ecto or even ZERO.

If I solo farm on an every day basis, I usually get 1 ecto per run. I can do 3 runs & harvest....1 only.

According to me the more you do it....less ectos you get.

So as it is quite boring & that I dont need $ I now do it once a week.

Please tell us the results of your own experience concerning the ecto average drop....thx.

My thoughts -

yes i find if you over farm a spot you need to take a break or you'll be doing usless farming

i killed a mob of 19 before and came out with 2 ecto and 2 passage scrolls, but nothing else, this also makes be believe that killing mobs reduces crappy drops, keeps good drops the same, hence the loot scaling list

Hey guys.

I tried this build out last night and I really like the fact that there are no self healings in it!

But I am having some major troubles with smites. After 8 attemps I still haven't killed a single group.
I try to gather them as you do in the video, so far so good. But I am unable to keep energy up for triple chop, cyclone and visages. I'm using the order which you suggest in the first post. I'm using the specified gear.

Do you use you're zealous when fighting smites? I only have a zealous sword atm, is it any idea to get an axe?

I was also having trouble with energy whilst fighting smites. If you look at the video, you'll notice as soon as he uses cyclone/triple/whirlwind, his energy goes back to maximum.. that's the zealous axe haft. I've just spent ages finding zealous axe haft, 15% while in a stance, -2 dmg while in a stance.. and some new shields for weapon set.. I hope it's worth it.

So yeah, I had the same problem, I only managed to kill 1 smite when I tried it before I died :P

Edit:

SUCCESS

The new equipment helped SO much. I can't believe I overlooked the requirement for a zealous axe. Also, if you think "oh i'll just aggro a small group of smites to practise".. don't. It's SO much easier with more smites because they all lose a lot more energy.

Thanks for this build DFNP. I love you.

k i believe ive posted this somewhere in this thread b4 but the number off smites with a -2 shield are:

Min:3 ofc but if youre unexpierenced with this build then agro a second group
perfect: 6 cause if instant recharge on Whirlwind
Max:12 and then you have to be lucky they dont crit much

these are the statistics with a -2 stance shield.

If youre really wanting to pull only 3 smites then you have to put SV/AV up and just hit once press tab hit other one press tab and hit third one. now w8 till youre first Visage is halfway on the recharge and put the other one up
now after 2 secs spamm youre attack skills. At a certain point 1 wil be dead and 2 dont this is when youre Ressistance runs off, now use bonettis for the energy and as soon as you hit 20 energy use Ressistance+Visage. Now you can kill them. TBH i think a pull of 3 is the hardest pull on this run.

hmm wraith i don't see how you get a max of 12 smites that you can take with -2/45 shield, i've pulled 20 before and lived to tell.

what ruins the big smite pulls the most is the cannibal smites, not how many you can pull. i prefer 12 or more when i can pull that many cause it makes very sure none of them have any energy at all. the smites only crit for -3 on me, and they don't seem to crit a lot when your standing still.

does this build still work? I can clear the chamber and kill the smite crawlers, and I have yet to get an ecto? has solo'ing the UW for smite crawlers been nerfed? (I'm asking this because some people told me it was)

I still get ecto, albeit not as much as Don't Feel No Pain says he does... maybe he is just lucky. Some runs turn up none, some turn up 1-4 and few golds.

Also this build is quite good although the UW spawns are shit, I die many times with bugged Aatxes that won't break off with Sprint on (no I'm not stuck... I know when that happens).

I don't get how most people clear the Graspings so fast... I normally have to wait for them to all be out front for about 2 minutes so I can gather them all up. Takes on average 3-4 minutes to clear the chamber, just to wait for good positioning.

wraith the trick is killing with speed....ball them up before you stop and use your first visage, then don't move around. then when i stop i go visage => cyclone => whirlwind => triple => visage then whirlwinds and your cyclone should be recharged here then cycle again. i auto hit maybe twice during my whole cycle, the rest is always using an attack skill. when i did this run a lot, i had about 460 health and another 45 in stance, and smites get only 3 dmg on crit, so they have to crit 160 times or so to kill me, which is 8 times a smite. with 20 of them, most of the smites are dead when the second visage is out, which i believe is 15 sec or so? no way they should crit 8 times that quickly.

when i finish big groups like that i generally have about 200 health when they are all dead. big groups are the best for 2 reasons: 1, it speeds up the run a lot, and 2, when you have that many their energy drains almost instantly, so you don't take anything at all from zealots fire.

I agree with mass-aggro being the best way to kill. However, my only problem with it atm is the smites breaking aggro after a certain amount of time spent running to other groups.

Anyway, this build is still great, but I've only got the smites 3/10 times I've been in the UW, mainly due to unlucky spawns or getting stuck on the run.
