i have no idea about you guys, but i spent over 50k in uw entrance fee's, completed all but like 3(cuz of lag) and i hve only 2 ecto to show for this.. both of which dropped in the same run... of ourse i got like 13 uw scrolls, and a few craptastic gold and purple items...so.. is there any reason why im not getting any drops? am i killing them too fast? slow? or is it just anet hating me cuz my main class is a paragon...

hmm i have to agree somehow, in the past 5 or so runs, i havent gotten ANY drops from smites... wierd. and i dont even farm that often. maybe like 2 runs and then i log out for the rest of the day.

well, my farming experiance was in small bursts, a few here and there, never more than 5 in one day. been doing this for about 2 weeks.

my conclusion, i have the worst luck possible in gw. havnt had one persom come even close to my horrible luck..yet...

I have come across bad luck... never ever hada green drop for me yet LOL, my mate keeps getting them (-_-)

but to your pposts above, mabye you need to circle your crops, that what i do =)

thanks chocolate prayers for that explanation. i am still working on pulling all the graspings into 1 mob without the aatxes. i though i had it cause i did it twice. then, for some reason, the aatxes kept following me so i die.. i wish there was no entrance fee...

can you elaborate on this please? im not ahuge farmer, so when i do it, its in small bursts, then i continue on to do other things, like missions, vanquishing ect.. then maybe go back to it later that day, or the next. depends on my mood.

but if its like try farming something i do gave good lkuck with, there is none.. ive tried em all, never got anything good from any of them.. i tried ele sword farming with e/a for 2 months, doin 2-5 runs per day, with other things inbetween. never got one.. even from the chest drops.

tried chest running, spent over 30k on keys/picks, and i got like 20+ purple items, and the rest were craptastic golds, lame skins, crap mods, got a dragonsbreth wand, r13, hsr 7%.. thats the best ive gotten from that experiance.

ive tried gren farming. did over 80 runs killing the queen in the crystal desert, only got one..(monk prot staff) on the last run.. with absolutely no golds from that experiance...

also attempted sup rune farming, outside ofbergen hot springs. that was a big hoax, besxt thing i got from that was a sup absorption rune.

oh, i forgot the tome farm, did over 400 hm boss farms for elite tomes.. mainly byzzar, for an elite monk tome. got a few dozen of his craptacular green offhands, some uw/fow scrolls, and merch food.. never once got an elite tome..

maybe im just not persistent enough, or my luck is just that. gw hates me, and ill have to come to terms with this and complain to anet..they have all the records, maybe they can give me some sorta consulation prize for trying...

hmmmm, well i'll try some tips:

ID all max dmg or close to max dmg items regardless of colours

salvage any perfect mods, even +7 vs physical mods, and just keep hold of them, and then check back and forth to major citys, and look at trade party search for any "WTB's"

When farming dont overwork a place, spend 1 or 2 hours tops as you'll get bored out of your mind and mabye the "secret" farming code still exists, hence why people complain on threads about drops getting worse the harder they try.

Circle your crops by just doing something else, farm somewhere else, play pve or pvp somewhere else.

well with the hundred blades build you got only 2 aoe attacks, so to crank up the adrenaline/energy gain, i figured, why not take sun and moon slash.

the sword build is best for small groups.

Theres ALWAYS something that goes wrong, mainly bad spawns that result in something like rubber banding... you'll be lucky if you get a manageable spawn, and if you get lucky with one, you'll probably make a 15 min run. Its a waste of time, unless you have insane luck.

Not to mention if you do make a run, you rarely get an ecto.

hmmm its still ok for me, sometimes get bad drops but still on average 1 a run, somtimes 2. Rubberbanding realy sucks, i hate it so bad, but it just sometimes happens, my average run time is 11min if i were to compare 100 runs, though i get the good 8, 9 or 10 often.

Yea, but I rarely good a spawn good enough to make it through... so far I haven't even broke even with the donation costs.

I'm trying out the axe version, first time in the UW in 2 years... sold my old account and took about a 2 year break, so that's why. :P

I was wondering, would it be worth it to sub out cyclone for Illusion of Weakness? It seems like a lot of deaths could be prevented with it. Sacrifice 126-139 hp right away, let your hp pip back full, then go at it. If you go under 25% hp you get that 126-139 back which would MAYBE give you time to try and run for it/give you quite a few more swings. Just a thought, because if I would have had an extra 139 hp I wouldn't have just wasted my first 1,000 trying this build. :P Another thing that might be useful is quickly swapping to a vamp axe of fortitude when your hp dips... a few cyclones/whirlings/triple chops with that could heal you significantly under the right circumstances.

Also, is it MANDATORY to kill the graspings? Even in your video that seem like the hardest work for you. I'm wondering if it's easier to just run past. Bah, I always die trying to pull them. Usually an aataxie won't break aggro or I can never time both pulls together.

if you don't kill graspings, you can't get out of the chamber, otherwise noone would kill them, they drop crap.

illusion of weakness is bad for this run, cyclone you need to keep adrenaline up.

vamp axe is possible to use, but only for grasps, and i wouldn't even bother. at the point where you need the health, you are better off using zealous axe and physical resistance.

and when you pull grasps and get the 2nd + 3rd groups, run past the center of the circle a bit, and then back to a bit out of aggro from where you pulled them. its a bit hard to explain, but if you stay in enraging and run almost to the spirits, you can stay away from attaxe every time. then you have to run back almost to the stairs so you don't lose a group of graspings. then age-old combo to kill them off.

As far as bad luck goes...
I am suspecting it may be that people are overfarming the UW again.

When I started I ACTUALLY made 100k+ in one day if I played the whole day.
24e in one day being my record.
Those kinda rates can't stay the same when more and more people start doing it.

Now I don't get ecto at all ha

I've been farming with this build 3 days all the time. This is the result of run I did a while ago.

No drop decrease for me, usually I get 2 ectos, sometimes 1 or 0. This is also the first time I've got 5 ectos on a run, even when I did the dual UW long time ago (55/necro) we've never got more than 3 ectos from one run. Just lucky, I guess. ^^

Oh, and of course, great build dont feel no pain, IMO it's the best UW solo build for now. Great work!
