Default GD Solo Build Fast Mode!!!

For those of you that love PvX wiki, here is an example of when people are better than it. PvX wiki has a Great Destroyer Solo Build (Final mission of Eye of the North Expansion; Also know as A Time for Heroes) but, this can take up to 5 minutes of waiting for the Great Destroyer to slowly degen to death. That's BORING! Good thing there is an alternative to the boring build of PvX. Many of you have heard of it before, but here it is! The Fast Great Destroyer Solo Build.

1. Protective Spirit
2. Healing Breeze
3. Spoil Victor
4. "You Move Like a Dwarf!"
5. Pain Inverter
6. Mending
7. Balthazar's Spirit
8. Essence Bond

Attributes:
Healing Prayers: 11+3
Smiting Prayers: 0+3
Protection Prayers: 8+3+1
Divine Favor: 3+3
Blood Magic: 11

Equipment:
Same as any 55 monk with the head armor giving its extra point to divine favor. (5 Superior Runes and Ascetic's Armor or 5 Radiant Insignias)

Usage:
Start off with casting the 3 enchantments, while waiting for the energy to go up to max before casting the next one. Then get as close to the lava as you can, up to the point where you just begin to burn, and then cast PS and HB. Now run to the GD. Recast PS and HB along the way when needed. Once you get to GD, start casting SV and PI. Be sure to avoid casting around Lava Blast, to prevent interrupts. Use "YMLAD" to interrupt Lava Wave. Otherwise there is a chance that one of the spawned minions will cast a hex on you that kills you. You don't want that. So, just keep everything cast on the GD, and keep HB and PS up at all times. The GD should die pretty fast.

Notes:
- Best run in NM, but can be run in HM.
- It is suggested that you move you enchantments box very close to the enemy casting time box to lower error possibilities.
- Don't ever spam "YMLAD" because all too many times, the GD will try to cast Lava Wave when you least expect it
- Interestingly enough, in the mission it says that interrupts enrage him, use them wisely, which is warning that interrupting him will trigger enraged blast. What's interesting is that if you are interrupted because of Lava Blast, Enraged Blast is triggered as well. (Maybe the GD is sympathetic?)
- Don't try charging more now that you have a faster build, you will lose your competitive edge.

Cool, now I save 3 minutes...

Wait, which destroyers can't be in the area? Can you do it with deeds? Or is hopes going to eat you alive? I don't wanna resign constantly for three minutes.

Default Why Pain Inverter

Pain Inverter reflects damage you take. With a 55 that's usually no more than 5 hp's, therefore PI only reflects like 7-8 hp.

This skill deals its damage to the hexed foe before skills like Protective Spirit reduce the damage actually taken by the foe's target.

EDIT: I will never get tired of quoting that

Someone should make a build so that it doesn't matter that destroyer is there, it will still own.

alright, you can't do it with deeds. You have to use YMLAD to interrupt lava wave so hope doesn't spawn. and as for the better build, i'm working on it
As for PI, like that guy said, (quoting the actual text of the Gw wiki page):
For 6...9 seconds, every time target foe deals damage that foe takes 100...132% of the DAMAGE IT CAUSES (maximum 80 damage).
note the caps locked portion of the description. This means that you don't have to take damage. Its a damage dealt vs damage recived thing. I can take as little damage as I want, but the destroyer still gets delt damage as if I was taking the full thing. Interesting.

Glad that you all like it. If done correctly, the GD will take 160 damage per hit, a nice change to the degen.

Picuso is correct and i think whyaretherenames skipped that reply .
Its same principal that works for 600/smite with holywrath and retribution.
May seem to go against its description but its actually the way it works - also note as you stated DAMAGE IT CAUSES - its not Damage it caused .. the 2 can be totally different

I assure you Spiritz, PI does do full damage. What you reference with the 600 build is completely understandable, however, that deals with the enchantments placed on the monk. The very fact that PI is a hex negates that fact. Perhaps I should rephrase how I do the comparison. It is the Damage Dealt vs the Damage Taken. Damage dealt would be like how much would this do if the target had no armor. Damage Taken would be like the 5 damage that I would take as a 55 monk. PI uses the Damage dealt to determine how much damage the GD takes. Often I find that sometimes, when looking at the damage information above the GD, it has taken 72 damage instead of the normal 80 damage, which could not have happened with SV since it is a fixed damage. If you ever need proof of this, either try out the build or let me show you. IGN: Monk O F Legend

From my experience I thought that PI calculated its damage effect before the effects of Prot Spirit.

Surely enough straight off Wiki: Damage dealt to the hexed foe is calculated before damage reduction effects such as Protective Spirit.
