I have NF but I'm at the very beginning and from what I can tell it takes quite a while to get to where I can cap or purchase the skill.

What do you mean by unlocking with faction? I thought that was only for skills you've already learned or through PvP...

All you need is baltzar faction 1k normal skill and 3k elite skill (earned in PVP battles ) Fort Aspenwood / jade quarry is very fast to earn it (luxon side especially)

Once you have the amount go to a priest of Baltz in PVP and unlock the skill you want. Then buy or tome and use it for the skill.

Another bar I used last night, which was able to do both the Hydra's and the Enchanted(just for fun) was the 55 SV Necro. You can tank 6+ Hydra at a time with it, I didnt even use an anti KD skill.

Mending, Balthy Spirit, Spoil Victor, Prot Spirit, Healing Breeze, Angorodon's Gaze(extra E if needed, but never really did) Necrosis(speeds up killing if needed, but didnt)

Killed 80+ Hydras in 1 HM run, got 24 claws, wasnt a bad run imo

Thanks man, I'll play around with this tonight. How much do Ele tomes go for? I never see them in trade windows.

400-500 gold for most tomes (much much higher for elite tomes)

actually a long time ago, osme guy bought all 250 from me for a very nice price..I had no idea why he wanted them (thats before Nicholas)..collectors maybe? I dunno.

I did old school Mo/N 55 with Spiteful and Insidious Parasite in HM. Cast your prots, aggro, let them all cast Meteor (it's usually the first thing cast occasionally the 2nd, never beyond that), then spam you necro skills evenly among the hydras (bunch them so SS hits all)

I used this same build long ago doing generic farming

I ran a 55 N/Mo with Spoil Victor. SV kills faster than SS, but only kills 1 at a time. Didn't bother me any as I killed them so fast I was clearing the zone with 13 claws. Just take "I Am Unstoppable!" to deal with the Meteors.

I just ran 600/Smite. Very fast and easy in HM.

Except for Stoneflesh, it's all core and Prophecies skills. Yeah, you get knocked down a few times. No big deal, if you just watch your timing. It isn't super fast, but it works for me. (+20% enchants weapon required. 15-16 in Earth Magic recommended.)

Ran this last night with great success. Still having trouble fighting more than 3 hydras at a time, but overall made out with 10 claws in 30-40 min in NM.

About 55hp: How long does your run take and how many Hydras do you kill? With 600/smite i've killed 92 Hydras in 24min and got 7 Claws and smiter 8 Claws.

I've just been using a standard 130hp D/Mo build. Going to go try out a variant of it now, in fact.

I've actually had the armor set up for it for ages, this is the first time I've really tried farming with it, though :P

I just used old-school 55 Monk with SoJ in NM (because all I was trying to get was the claws), and it worked fine, I could take on whatever amount of Hydras came at me, I even took on some of the Enchanted guys and as long as you watch for their Concussion Shot, everything was fine.

I just used a 55 build on my necromancer subbing the secondary damage skill out for "I am unstoppable!". :3
